RPM Italian presents cuisine that is modern in approach and Italian in spirit, with dishes intended to be shared. Chef partner Doug Psaltis has created a menu which features a variety of cold and hot antipasti, more than a dozen freshly prepared in-house pastas, and a selection of salads, prime steaks, chops and slow-roasted meats. RPM Italian is grotesquely overrated! The menu is limited, the food was mediocre at best and the service was hit and miss... Very disappointed that I believed the "hype" about this place, one of the worst birthday experiences ever.

We had a reservation and waited about 10 minutes to be seated, which is good on a Saturday night in Chicago. I thought it was a trendy place. Loved the appetizers we ordered (Ricotta and Bruschetta). Brussel sprout salad was spicy but good. It should have mentioned that on the menu but it was not. Pasta dishes were very tasty. I had the seafood risotto which was very good. Overall I thought it was not overly expensive and very good. I would definitely recommend it.

Very good food, but hard to get a reservation. The wait staff was very nice, but the ladies who run the front desk were not. That should be worked on as they are the first greeters of the restaurant. Food was very good, and well done, not cookie cutter italian.

The food was outstanding, interesting, delicious and the server, Shane, was informative and helped with meal choices. we were celebrating our honeymoon and he was very accommodating and super easy to work with.

Great experience. Went here for the fist time to celebrate our engagement. We received a free prosecco toast. The service and food were outstanding, my water glass was never empty. We started with garlic bread, which was great. I had the best chicken parm I have ever had and my date had bucatini. Ending with cheesecake which was delicious. 10/10

Got in a bit early for a reservation which was great. Awkward holding big menus all through the appetizer course, drinks were slow to arrive.Shared the brussels sprouts salad and chopped salad, both were OK. Everyone that ordered spaghetti and meatballs were very happy, really enjoyed their entrée.

Almost didn't return to this place because the last time the service was not good, but this time our server was outstanding!
She made us feel welcomed and not overly rushed.
She definitely made this experience a very good one.

Have wanted to go there for a year now, and finally back to Chicago and had a chance too. Appetizers were overcooked (fried olives & truffle garlic bread). Prosciutto Tortilloni was ALL black pepper, could not taste anything but pepper. Husbands Cavatelli pasta was over-cooked as well and more mushy than anything. So very disappointed.

RPM Italian was loud and crowded when we arrived for an 8:45pm reservation on our visit to Chicago. Everything went terrifically uphill from there. The service was all you would expect and more. The 600 day Prosciutto was like butter, and the veal rib chop pretty much the best I have had (and I've eaten a few veal chops). But the special pasta with fresh white truffle slices reminded me why truffle oil is so evil--the entire dish was lovely. Wines by the glass are reasonable and a good way to wander through a few good recommendations. Plus, the meal was a great value. I'd return if I go back to Chicago.

I've been before and this time I was less impressed overall. Reservation was made over a week before dining and they put us in the bar. When I asked for dining room they stated it would be at least 20min wait additional so we took the bar. I order a bottle of wine I've had before and the brought a bottle with a different vintage. When I called them on it our waiter went to check and they hadn't updated their menu yet and were out of ordered wine. I was buying dinner for friends and didn't want to complain too much since we just had issue with sitting in bar so I said it was ok. I should have sent back, my mistake. It wasn't very good. Service was a bit slow and not very attentive at times . Overall just a bit disappointing. Regret not saying something more there but as I mentioned, I didn't want to be "that" person, being high maintenance.

Delicious Food and Great service! The Beef Carpaccio was out of this world! Fried olives were surprisingly delicious, and the Prosciutto Tortelloni was perfectly balanced flavor.
