This is one of my friend’s favorite restaurants and it didn’t disappoint. There was a miscommunication between the wait staff so no one came over to our table but then they were very apologetic and sent over a free appetizer. Everyone enjoyed the meal and said they would return.

Came at 9pm for a Saturday night dinner.
Hardly anyone there eating and noticed a lot of waiters.
Anyway, ordered the Butterfish and was given a thin end cut unlike the other times I’ve had the same meal. I understand someone has to have the end at some point, BUT it was small and thin compared to the thick and meatier middle cut. The end should have been bigger since it was so thin and not appealing to the eye. I figure they thought it was Sat night, night is about to end so why not dump it on me. But for $42 I spoke up and told my waiter.
I also forgot to mention that my fish looked dry and ugly like it was u see the heat lamp forever! Maybe someone else’s fish also returned and yet again returned by me.
Waiter fixed everything, no problem.
I made a reservation for the 30th anniversary special and also made a reservation w Opentable to get the points.
I mentioned that as I walked in and they were to stingy, unlike their partner restaurant, Fleming’s, and did not accommodate.
Over priced in my opinion and service and atmosphere as well as service doesn’t accommodate for the higher menu prices.

We had the best service, the best food! Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience tonight. Appreciated how fast our food came and the food was so deliciously our entire table devoured every meal! Even our 2 1/2 year old son couldn't get enough of the salmon they made! I think that says a lot! Thank you!!

Food was mediocre at best. Way overpriced. Bread felt like it was baked from a frozen box. Lobster Bisque tasted canned. Sushi roll no better than supermarket version. Service was adequate, certainly not excellent. Won't go back.

I entertain clients at Roy's on a regular basis. Our guests, my wife and I always enjoy myself.

On this visit, the menu was less than what we are used to and certainly less than I'd hoped for. No Ahi Tuna, no scallops and no Mahi Mahi. Two of my favorite offerings were not available....on a Sunday night?

Also, when my wife ordered the shellfish combo, with no scallops to round out the "combo" they offered her shrimp as a replacement. She did not want shrimp and asked for a second lobster tail in the place of the scallops. The waiter refused. When she politely persisted, he said ok but added another $22.00 for the lobster tail. Poor customer service on that, my friends.

I will think about other options for dining in the future.

Our party of 5 went there for lunch on Easter, the food was good, not exceptional though. My husband's Mahi Mahi was bland and tasteless, but he told the waitress and she let him order another dish. Everyone's dishes that we ordered was over salted. They did not give us black napkins and all three ladies wore black pants which ended up with lots of lint . Over all the experience was ok, I would recommend, but most likely not return. I've been to Roy's at Pasadena, San Diego and Los Angeles and they all were much better.

Overall we really enjoyed our meal; however, we felt a little tricked by the 3 course meal offering I received an email about. In the past we could pick any starter, entree or dessert; however this time we were informed that it was a special menu which was not stated in the email. Usually if it is a special menu it will say so on the email. We had already planned what we were going to order and it kinda threw a wrench in our experience. Especially since a couple of us have strict dietary concerns that require planning ahead. I am not sure I would drive out there again with this deal.

The receipe for the ribs seemed different or just not as good as before...i ordered them many times...service was slow and unattentive which was also different for them..although a friend of mine said the pasadena roys service was poor... Mac n cheese was pretty tasteless... What happened roy...

The food was really good, but that's not the only thing that makes a good restaurant. I find it very important for Resturants to uphold reservations. I could have made a reservation for any other restaurant (like Fleming's next door). I reserved a table at Roy's because we've never tried it. My husband and I had a reservation at 7:30 we didn't get sat at a table until 7:56 and didn't receive our first appitizer until 8:20. So we made a reservation and it was about 1 hour from walking through the door before we had food. First impression is not good.

I have been to Roys many times. Decided to take my wife there for Valentine's Day. Roys chose to ruin the night with a very limited menu, forcing everyone to order more food than one could eat and raised the prices significantly. I will never go back.

Asian chicken dish was dry, not as expected at these prices. Opah was good, not fabulous.
I've had better meals at Roy's in Anaheim for whatever reason.

The seafood selections are tasty and varied. One in our party even ordered steak, which turned out to be AMAZING. The desserts were to die for. A great meal overall.

Put in a last minute reservation on Saturday evening. Got to the restaurant a bit early and had a drink at the bar. Staff was courteous and friendly.

Sat down right at our reservation time and had fantastic service and food. I had the signature butterfish which was fantastic. Busy evening and no drop in service even with all tables full.

Was not happy with the 15 minute wait as I made an Open Table reservation and they gave us a very bad table at the entrance with lot's of commotion. We asked to be switched to a quieter area.

First I would like to say how much we were disappointed my husband and I.
We made a 8.15 pm reservation on open table at one of our preferred restaurant on Saturday night knowing we will get great food and service.
Unfortunately it didn’t happen the way we expected. We ordered the prefix menu with the fish. It was suppose to come with an appetizer but they couldn’t serve this particular one anymore so the waiter took the liberty to bring us some lobster pot stickers.
We were surprised to find out it was shrimp inside the pot stickers ...not lobster.
Then they brought the second course witch was some wagu beef pot stickers. It was an another fried dish and we didn’t like it so the lovely manager brought us one of our favorites instead.
We were happy until the fish arrived. It was a blend white fish floating in a broth and veggies served with sticky rice. This wasn’t the level of a fine dining restaurant!
My husband kept asking for help the entire meal to an another waiter “Shawn”that we know from our previous experiences because our assigned waiter was gone who knows where.
Shawn ended up to serve us wine and water and when our assigned waiter finally came to see if everything was good we were almost ready to order dessert.
The cherry on the cake was the open reservation I made. This got canceled as a no show! I had to call Open table to receive my points.
At the end we learnt not to order the small prefix menu on the weekend and we should ask to be seated with Shawn as a waiter for our next reservations.

Came for appetizers and drinks in the main dining room. Quiet night so we felt free to linger. Good service, good food and drinks.
