Amazing service. Pretty dark. Food was so-so. Small portions. Again, amazing service.
As usual an excellent evening at Roy’s! I’m hooked on the scallops! Always say I’m going to try something new, but end up ordering the scallops
We're always there on special occasions and now with their specials, even more. Service is always tops. Food is always incredible. Always a special, friendly and warm place. Thank you.
The food is always delicious.
Our server was great. The food was really good.
Roys is always very good. Our server, Samantha, is great. Love the Rye Me A River cocktail. The sushi rolls are tasty, the ribs are a fav appetizer.
Not outstanding. Not bad. Pretty average. I got the four fish sampler which was ok. the Fish were a bit on the dry side. The seared tuna did not stand out compared to seared tuna elsewhere. The crab fried rice was probably the best dish. Again, not outstanding but a good comfort food dish.
Some light bulbs were out in the dining room, and some light fixtures had pieces falling off. My salmon was swimming in a sauce with too much vinegar. Food at Roy's used to be made with attention to detail. If Roy's Woodland Hills doesn't improve their quality control, they should cut their prices by 60%.
Service felt rushed. Lobster was over cooked in seafood sampler.
We all know the restaurant. The menu is old but it’s good if you just want their simple favorites. The preparation has improved a bit with the most significant upgrade to the Hawaiian Martini. The pineapple is now marinated and frozen giving the garnish a bigger kick.
There was also a noticeable difference with the service. It suddenly felt more rushed. The requests for dinner and desserts came quickly disrupting the dinner conversations. This is an area that could be improved.
The food and service is amazing. We has the Sea bass.
Food and service were great. We had a coupon for $40 off and our bill, including tip, was still $75 for one sushi roll, one pork ribs appetizer, one fish trio main course, one cocktail and a diet soda. Without the coupon it would have been around $120! Way too expensive!!
This was not our typical visit to Roy's. It was my birthday and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. Our server paid little attention to us because of a large party in a private room.
Salads came (after a long time) before the appetizers. 2 appetizers never came until we asked. They eventually took them off the bill, but I would have rather received them on time and paid for them. The usual amazing spare ribs were very dry. Should I go on? A manager came by to drop off the late food, but had nothing say to us. Needless to say, it was not the birthday dinner I expected.
We always enjoy Roy's, and specially like to celebrate occasions there. Roy's provides a Special Dessert and takes a complimentary photo of your group. This makes you feel quite SPECIAL.
You can count on the food being fresh and creative. It's our mini trip to Hawaii in-between actually going there.
Great food and wine choices. Waiting staff is awesome. A special place for a special dinner.
Food was not as good as in the past. We ordered the larger steak and it was dry and not very tasty. Salad was soggy. The only good part of the meal was the dessert. Our server was outstanding!
sworddfish was awful
swordfish was awful

Delicious food, good wine selections & great atmosphere.
My husband and I just returned from Texas where he underwent multiple surgeries wherein he actually died on the table for 10 minutes was eventually revived but was in a coma followed by months of hospitalization, surgeries, complications & by the grace of God survived , but suffered major deficits- memory, mobility, speech etc..., but we were sooo grateful to be home and you ran your $40 off special and we had a $50 gift card so we were able to celebrate his miracle on our limited income❣️ Thank you Roys
Great food, staff and ambiance that we love going for a nice dinner and celebration. This location is one of our favorites.
Fantastic. Especially our server Lisa
The food was mediocre yet very expensive. The $15 salads we ordered were overdressed and must have been sitting for awhile. None of the ingredients tasted fresh or were of high quality. We ordered shrimp that were overcooked and tasteless. The butterfish was good but was served with a dried out lump of rice. Overall a pretty amateur job with professional prices. Will never go back!
The prices have gone way up. Not sure that we will be running back. Just too expensive for what it is. The food was good. One fish dish in our group was overcooked. Chocolate desert was good.
The food at Roy's is consistently good. The staff, from bussers to servers to management are committed professionals. Richard set the bar high when he was managing Roy's. Now that he has gone to King's in Calabasas, his presence is missed!
Our server, Darrell, did a great job. He gave us space when we wanted it but was attentive when it was called for. he was knowledgeable and made perfect recommendations. food was tasty & well portioned. all in all a wonderful experience.
I was actually surprised at how good it was from the food through the service. This was our second time in recent memory at Roy's and we will definitely keep this on the list. We both chose the quartet of fish, and each one was a little different, each being our favorite.
Dinner was still great.. appetizers good but not lot the good old days...its the sign of the times .
We have been going to Roy’s for years - have also gone to several in Hawaii. So have to say I’m a little disappointed in our meal recently. We ordered the Maui Wowie salad, which my husband and I split. I especially liked the idea of
This salad as it had avocados in it. However, interestingly enough, there was more shrimp than avo!! I’m not a fan of shrimp but I love anocados..
Main dishes - I ordered the Mahi and my husband ordered the Seafood platter. My piece of fish was sooo thin .... reminded me of Dover Sole. I mainly tasted the macadamia nuts in this dish and not fish. On the other hand, my husband loved his seafood so that was good!
Chocolate soufflés were delicious as usual- but could have used a bit more ice cream!
Lastly, service was excellent!
I went to Roy's in Woodland Hills in California last Friday, Agust 30, for dinner. The service was very good. I've asked my server to recommend a good bourbon and it was excellent! My wife ordered a wedge salad and I ordered Maui Wowie salad. The wedge salad was good with good portion of blue cheese dressing but Maui Wowie salad did not have much of distinctive taste. I was tired of eating after several bites.
My wife ordered a pork chop which was overcooked and all we tasted was a sweet sauce. She ate only about half and could not finish it. I ordered Canoe for Two came with two each of spicy tuna roll, lobster potsticker, crispy chicken spring roll, and Szechaun ribs. It sounded wonderful! They were all deep-fried except the ribs. I bit into the lobster potsticker and tasted real lobster and then in a few seconds, it turned into a greasy tasting yucky finish. The rest of the fired dishes were about the same. I am not sure what it was but the tase of the grease was overpowering and could not taste the ingredients. Szechuan ribs seemed dry and it was too sweet and had no spice in it. I only ate half of the dish.
When you spend $180 for dinner for two, you would expect to get better quality food. We used $40 coupon and end up costing $140. I've had better food at some of the fast-food restaurants near me.
It was a very enjoyable dining experience. Well worth the price we paid. We're going back on September 11th to celebrate our 54th Wedding Anniversary. Great food, and great service.
Had the scallops with coconut black rice...amazing! But would definitely get the sauce on the side as it overpowered the rice a bit.
I took clients here for a thank you dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious and interesting. Sean was our waiter and we've had him before and enjoyed his level of service.
background noise and music was a bit more than we prefer, but in a booth it wasn't too bad.
We eat here 4-6 times a year and usually have a great experience.
Great food, great service! I would definitely want to try the happy hour at this place as well to try coming more often!
Excellent service and ambience, hadn't been to Roy's in a long time and was glad we went.
Everyone who works at Roy's is always friendly and accommodating. Food is excellent and the presentation is excellent. Enjoyed! jeri
One of the service experiences we’ve had. Samantha was outstanding with a great sense of humor.
Table was ready on time, food was excellent, drinks equivalently excellent! We will definately go again. We ordered the Korean tasting menu, new to us, and quite good
The server was good and good ambiance. We had to wait for bread on the table because we were told it takes time to cook it? We had eaten our appetizers and was served our dinner before the bread come out. The Canoe for Two appetizer was just OK. The lobster pot sticks were good but the rest of the tray was not exactly fantastic. We ordered a side of mashed potatoes and they looked like they were instant. To thin with no consistency. For the price, we would much rather have eaten at Flemmings
I love Roys atmosphere and the service was very good. My objection is an up charge of $3 to add extra vegetables which resulted in two more pieces. At their prices there should not be a charge. I also ordered an Old Fashioned and then ordered a second one and told the server less sweet, it was exactly the same.
I also thought $13 for a small molten cake was overpriced!
Excellent service and food! Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi was deeeeeelish!
