Roy's Woodland Hills Ratings and Reviews
We always go to Roy's for special occasions and again we were not disappointed. This time, we celebrated our anniversary. They were extremely busy being the night before Mother's Day, but still we had a great dining experience. You have to try their chocolate souffle dessert. It is amazing. And our server, I forget her name, was outstanding.
expectations were not overly high haven eaten at other locations in the chain. Have always enjoyed the food and am a fan of the menu. The 3 different fish special was excellent, albeit rather small portions for the money - left me wanting more. Special martini was very tasty.
This is a delightful upscale restaurant in a prime location. It gears to Pacific Rim dining. Everything on the menu is original and outstanding. The chocolate soufflé is over the top delicious. The wait staff is exceptional and attentive without being intrusive. Roy's woodland Hills is also the type of restaurant to do for a special occasion. They also have accommodations for private parties in meetings. This restaurant is one of our favorites and we go there regularly. The food is consistenly excellent.
Of the 4 items we ordered, we would rate 3 of them 5 star dishes - the Lobster Potstickers, the Ribeye steak, and the shortbread crust macadamia nut caramel dessert. The Mahi-Mahi was well done, great texture, but the sauce and nut crust didn't add much flavor. We went on a Monday night so I suspect that's why there were no off menu specials. Not crowded so it was not noisy. Food arrived quickly and sizzling hot.
I really enjoyed my time at Roy's. The service was prompt, the servers were kind and friendly, and the food was very yummy.
It was mine and my girlfriend's anniversary and they made a cute chocolate cake with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate.
I'd highly recommend the Soufflé, which you must order 20 mins ahead and the Calamari.
We wanted to come back and give the restaurant another try. I am glad that we did. The food was extremely good just like last time. The difference was the service. Our server Jessika was awesome! This is the service that any top notch restaurant wants to have.
Roy's is back on our list.
Roy's is a good restaurant with good food. It's in the Valley, which is horrible, but doesn't really have a vibrant feel because of it. (Guys in there were wearing t-shirts and jeans with sneakers). The menu is a nice blend of asian and steakhouse, with some interesting flavors throughout. Still a bit pricey, but pretty good for the money.
This was a special occasion big birthday evening for two friends. And special it was in every way. The menu had both birthday girl's name on it, and the server took a group photo, and presented the photo to us in a little frame. The food and preparation were outstanding. The ambience is lovely and the service was everything a restaurant strives for. The complimentary dessert was the icing on the cake. We loved the evening, and it was special indeed. We dine there frequently, and this restaurant in every way is just the best.
I won't do that again! I had to keep turning my neck to talk with my friend--a strain... There was no interaction between us and the food preparers--who are quite amazing, by the way. They're very focused and knock the food out with amazing speed. The lobster potstickers were soggy this time (a disappointment). On the other hand, the molten chocolate souffle never disappoints! I'll be back (it was my 4th visit), but I won't sit at the food bar again.
First time at Roy's. The atmosphere is very nice. Kind of an upscale casual. A little on the noisy side though.
Our food was really good. My wife's salmon was one of the best I have ever tasted. My ahi was also really tasty. Lobster bisque and Caesar salad were also very good. The chocolate soufflé was fantastic.
The reason for the 3 star rating was the service. I have had better service at Denny's. I think it was just our waiter, because I saw other tables getting fantastic service from other wait staff.
We were seated promptly and the service was good, however, the restaurant was very loud and very hot. The Hawaiian Martinis were delicious as were our appetizers; Sunrise at Haleakala Roll and the Ribs. Our entrees on the other hand were not as good. I had the seared scallops which were over cooked, had an odd taste, not sure if it was the coriander glaze or the apple or the pork belly but the combination was not pleasing. My husband had the Trio, butterfish, amazing, salmon delicious, but the mahi mahi was so dry and overcooked that it was inedible. This is the first time we've eaten at Roys and haven't been completely satisfied. We'll go back for sure, but next time I think we're going to stick to the sushi, the ribs, the butterfish, and the Hawaiian Martinis!
The entrance/exit to the parking lot is unsafe, so be careful! The drinks are good and exotic. The sushi is standard but tasty. The main dishes are ordinary and salty. It is evident that Roy's creations are made by trained cooks, not chefs. The plating is ok, but the fruits/vegetables are limpy and not that appetizing. The staff is fine and friendly.
Wonderful staff. Really good food. Excellent evening out. They limited the menu, focusing on a half dozen entrees, then your order included your choice from the appetizers, AND a selection from the soups or salads, AND a dessert. So while the pricing on the menu LOOKED scary, it was a great value.
Always welcoming....Dining here is a pleasure. The food is delicious Asian fusion, with an ever changing menu. Every dish has a beautiful presentation. Warm edamame are great? The sushi is fresh. Lobster bisque is outstanding, with large chunks of lobster, always steaming hot. Their version of a Caesar salad is delicious as well. The shrimp and grits, butter fish, encrusted opah with fried bananas, meatloaf, all are all excellent. There are always new chef's innovations added making the menu interesting. The service is ALWAYS attentive. Managers are always around to insure that everything is handled professionally. Open kitchen....Wish Roy's was open for lunch as well. Hostess does her best to honor requests.....Great dining. We have become regulars....
My boyfriend and I had dinner at Roy's and it was a great experience! The food and service were terrific, however the noise level is so loud that it takes away from the experience. Not that we will not come back but next time we will probably choose a nice restaurant with a lower noise level.
I took my mom to Roy's in Woodland Hills on her visit back to California. The food was excellent, we all had fish dishes and each were unique and delicious. My favorite was the Trio (3 different types of fish) which gives you a great chance to try totally different dishes at the same time.
The service was great as well and they sat us promptly and were attentive the whole time.
I 100% recommend this restaurant!
Great service, glad to see they added more meat selections as I don't eat fish. The lobster pot stickers very good. I had the short ribs, nice portion however a bit dry, no a jus or sauce. Most short ribs I have are more moist at other restaurants!!
Next time I 'll tyr the meatloaf.
Made us feel special for our anniversary.
