The best place I've ate at Hawaii. Best servers and amazing food.
Tried Roy's in Las Vegas when it first opened. Haven't been back since because we don't have any in the PNW. It was refreshing to try it again in Hawaii. If we return next year or the following we will be sure to have at least one dinner with you folks.
We had an amazing experience visiting Oahu and celebrating a birthday here! The staff were all extremely nice and helpful, and the food was delicious - we had one vegan in our party and there were more than enough options for everyone to have an outstanding meal.
Drinks at the bar were ok, not exceptional. Our wine service was weak.. placed a bottle way to close to my elbow.. lucky it did not get bumped, I asked for better wine glasses and none available. We poured all of our own wine, until last pour. Opened red and began pouring before white. Food was very good. The restaurant very loud!
Great food (we ate every morsel!) and great service - Lani met our every whim with a lovely smile and sparkling personality! We visit Roy's every trip to Wakiki.
Great service food and atmosphere
Did the chef tasting and we finished our sparkling wine way before our first course came out, when the fish finally came out mine was mushy so I sent it back, our waiter was unapologetic and had the personality of my dry hair( pretty bad) once it came every other dish was fine. My only complaint about the tasting was that it was nothing special, usually it’s a opportunity for the chef to be creative! MEH
Waiter was a bit "too" attentive and we felt a bit rushed but everything else was perfect. Staff delivering the food and clearing our table were great! Food was wonderful and we really enjoyed it.
Excellent restaurant. The food and service great. I wouldn’t calling causal formal. This restaurant could be that but the vibe we got was more casual. The waitress and managers were treated their guess with great hospitality. I commend the manager or maitrede for working with her staff on serving food and drinks. She really care for customers as well as her staff. You can see the respect the employees give to her. The food was excellent. Everything we ordered was great including the escargot. Yup snails! No shells though. Hahaha. Well I hope this review can help others decide where they want to enjoy their dinner or meal.
Had only been to Roy's Hawaii Kai. Decided to try Waikiki. Really loved it. There's just something upscale but humble about Roy's. Lovely experience.
Great seafood and service.
Great Service, Friendly Staff ! Great Food. Ribs worth it. Ahi worth it.
Outstanding service, food was wonderful. Husband got the fish trio and I had the filet, from the salad to the desserts- everything was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Our waiter was the absolute best and the food was perfect. Our only issue was our table was back in an area with very little ambience but definitely quiet enough for us to enjoy conversation. We started off with the hamachi appetizer which was fabulous and then had a wonderful salad and fresh fish. We ended with the chocolate soufflé which can’t be beat.
We can’t wait to go back on our next trip👍🏻🤙🤙
We ate at Roy's Waikiki based on a recommendation from locals we met on Kauai. The food and service were top notch. Our goal was fresh seafood for my wife, (I'm a vegetarian). The menu was not so clear to us, and her entree order included 'pan seared' Ahi, which is not cooked thoroughly. This didn't fly with her and they had no problem taking it off the bill. The crab cake appetizer and the salad she ordered was more than enough for her. They had a vegan option (1) that was amazing, and they were very responsive to my peanut allergy. Just pay attention to the menus, and ask questions! Overall an excellent meal and experience.
Wonderful experience for whole evening from a warm welcome upon arrival to professional courteous and very friendly service from Kappa. Food was excellent. Would recommend very highly.
Roy’s. never disappoints. Great food, excellent service, all in the paradise of Hawaii. Who could ask for more?
I quite liked the dinner but I thought Roy’s Eating House in Kauai was much better.
Amazing beef carpaccio as an appetizer!
We always eat at Roy’s Waikiki when we visit Oahu. My husbands prix fixed three course dinner was superb: butterfish, filet and prawns, chocolate soufflé. My lobster and prawn dish was good and rich. My sons macadamia crusted mahi-mahi was over cooked but tasty. I ordered a dessert soufflé also and expected something different than my husbands. We like to share, but it was the same dessert. Our server offered to get something else but it was all good. What was a real downer was the gift card I ordered using credit card d points, specifically to use on our trip. It turns out Roy’s in Hawaii is separate from all the Roy’s mainland. Now we have to go to one of those Roy’s locations listed on the card. The server knocked off $30 for this confusion.
Service was top notch and our dishes tasted phenomenal!
Best tasting fine dining and excellent service, very knowledgable waiter, friendly staff.
The best fresh fish in Waikiki. We go every trip, and as usual this year, it was excellent.
Great venue. We had drinks on the patio bar and liked it so much we reserved dinner for later in our trip. We did the Roy's tasting menu, which was a 3 course with 3 oz. wine pairings. Very good value. Appetizer was a small combo with skewered shrimp, rib and egg roll. My husband had the Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi--outstanding. I had the ribs. Very good, huge serving. Desserts were lava cake and Macadamia nut tart. Both were good, but the lava cake was the fave. The regular menu had lots of other good options. Very enjoyable evening.
This was one of the best meals we have ever had. The food and service were incredible. I will dream about the butter fish! Not sure when we will be back but it sure was a highlight of our stay in Honolulu. Highly recommend!
Roy's was an exceptional meal. For my wife an I, we believe this meal was in the top 5 of our vacation lives! Now at 55 years old. You figure it out!
When somebody says "Hello" that person should look at the person she salutes. Basic etiquette. But it was dinner time and I let it go...
Roy's Waikiki is that place you take your in-laws to for a special occasion. You can count on it to be a nice experience and good, safe food. It is not a good value and don't expect to be wowed by any of the food- but should expect to not be dissapointed. The food is not innovative in the slightest, and the menu does not take risks, but relies on a stable of Roy's standards and ensures there is something for everyone. Ingredients are high grade though and the execution is solid and service is as good as you would expect for a restaurant in this price range.
The taste of pizza was awesome!!
And the meatballs also was great!
I don’t want to be a famous restaurant...but I can recommend here for eating pizza.
Service super attentive and friendly. We got 2 desserts on the house for our 26th anniversary. It’s our 6th time to Hawaii and we always go to Roy’s( we love the Beach Trio).
Highly recommended! Delicious food with generous portions and impeccable service. Nice wine list and amazing cocktails. I do recommend reservations.
I went with my two sons. They have a kids menu and know they are large portions. I should have ordered the kids shirt ribs as the adult portion was way too big and a bit dry. They also barely put any mashed on it.
Nice special enebing
Food was no good. Service was real nice, but the food was bland and flavorless.
Such great wait staff! The food was really good and they had a lot of options to have smaller portions of multiple menu items.
We had the Sunset Hour 3 course meal. The food was definitely worth trying. The steak was tender but slightly on the salty side. Our water glasses were constantly filled which was great! Overall, a good restaurant.
Amazing. And a three course meal for the keiki. We loved the combination of flavours and everything we tried was fantastic.
Very good food, not fantastic. We’ve been going to Roy’s for year’s. New try for us was the Monchong which was a little too sweet. Butterfish was great as usual.
