Food is as good as ever. Service was outstanding.
The place really needs upgrading and updating, though. The bathrooms, and the area outside the bathrooms, is looking shabby. The stairway to the upper level looks downright dirty. And why make the servers wear kukui nut necklaces? Those look dated and tacky; doesn't match the quality of the food and service. We were celebrating an anniversary; nice touch, to put a paper note on our table with anniversary wishes. But it came right of a copier, wrinkled, on cheap plain white paper. Just not consistent with the overall ambiance. The overall experience is no longer elegant.

Very good food, the filet Mignon was excellent, service a little bit slow (weekend). Great selections of wines. Loved the place.

The food was really very good but I just couldn't get past the slow service and delay in getting our food. In the time waiting, the people next to us got their drinks and food before we got our drinks and they arrived after us. The waiter was as courteous as could be but all he offered were "I'll check on it" responses and shrugged shoulders.

It's dark in there so if you're in hiding, Roy's in SF is a good place to eat out.

To be fair, the noise level in retrospect was due to one particular table of 5 and with their departure, I was once again able to hear my wife.

As to the question, Would I recommend Roy's - San Francisco to a friend? The jury's still out at this point.

The food was great but took a little long to come out. Restaurant was very close to our hotel so it was perfect for the walk back.

Had a wonderful time at Roy’s. We opted for the pre fixed menu. It was awesome. The service was great,David was an attentive server. We will be back!

Valentine’s Day at Roy’s was amazing despite fixed menu. Everything was perfectly prepared and service was great. Meal was timed perfectly on a very busy night for them.

Roy's is our favorite restaurant. Food is great, service attentive and the coffee's hot! We had the Canoe for Two appetizer. For entree' my wife had the Misoyaki butterfish (their specialty) and I had the Classic Four (misoyaki butterfish, seared ahi, grilled salmon and grilled mahi-mahi). Key lime pie for dessert. It was all 'onolishish' Highly Recommended!

The Manager was very accommodating, and the service from the Manager was excellent; However, the busboy wasn't good, and the waiter was ok. This time, I can only give 4 stars. Hope, next visit busboy & waiter can provide better service. Thank you

Crispy Wok Fried Shrimp Tempura was really good. Sea Bass was perfectly cooked. Pineapple Upside Down Cake was great ending to the meal.

The staff were exceptional! Friendly and helpful. We had some friends that were supposed to meet us for dinner before Hamilton. They got stuck in traffic and were very late. The kitchen was able to rush their order and they even called us a cab so we would not be late for the show. The scallops were to die for and the lobster was quite good.

Don't come here if you are hungry. I ordered a soup and an entree along with a drink. Service was extremely slow. I arrived at 6:45 pm. For an hour, I only had my drink and the soup. My entree arrived at 7:45 pm. No one checked on me during that hour. The waiter checked on me only once while I was eating my entree.

Entrees got to table 15 min before drinks. Food was overpriced and not worth the high price. Server seemed disinterested and wouldn't bring the bill when we asked go close out. Eventually the manager stepped in and closed us out. It was a sad experience overall.

Great service. Food quality has def gone down. They overcooked the steak then undercooked it and it was cold steak inside. Ended up having to send it back again and opt for another dish. Waiters couldnt have been nicer, but kind of disappointing meal especially for such a steep price point. Won’t be going back unfortunately.

I've visited many Roy's restaurants and this was by far one of my favorite. The waiters were excellent and they took immediate action to correct a perfectly fine soufflé that bursted on the plate. I would absolutely recommend Roy's! Mahalo nui!

There's was nothing to recommend. Service was the best part. Not picking an expensive resturant due to service.
The drinks were sub par. The appetizers were small and sub par. The main courses were all lacking. Drowned in sauces to mask the quality of the meat.
Truffle fries were a joke.
Dessert was interesting. Wish the waiter would have better explained when questioned about the menu.

The toast accompanying the salad was stale! Chewy and not edible. Salad was not fresh. Butter fish was burnt on top, and dry! Upside down cake dessert was good.

Service was not great but the food was awful. The lobster potstickers were chewy and immediately arrived at our table after we ordered. The staff maybe came to our table 3 times, we were opening our own champagne until they saw us doing it. Our dirty plates stayed at the table until the chocolate soufflé arrived, which was actually no better than a frozen chocolate lava cake. The Roy’s in Pebble Beach and Hawaii are worth the drive and plane ticket to avoid this place.

Overall the food is okay. I tried their global tasting menu featuring Philippines- appetizer their fish kinilaw is the best from the tasting menu selection followed by the Ube Flan dessert. The main course is Seafood sinigang - definitely not the traditional tamarind soup based that we usually eat at a Filipino restaurant. My husband ordered the misu fish which is also okay. Probably wouldn’t order again. Their chocolate soufflé is amazing 😉

Had a marvelous meal at Roy's, we had reservations for 6pm on a Saturday night, the place was half full. We were attended to right away given a warm invite by our server and treated very well. The food was outstanding. Fresh tuna int he poketini and the fish 4 ways was incredible. So fresh and preparation was amazing, each one was simply perfect. We highly recommend ordering the chocolate lava soufflé's cake which takes 25 minutes to make, so order it early. The ambiance is posh and rich, very Hawaiian which made us feel we were back in Oahu.

Waaaaaay over priced, & it shouldn’t be! All the Roy’s in Hawaii & the Roy’s in Carmel @ Spanish Bay are better than this Roy’s & less expensive! Our waiters demeanor showed he did not want to be there, & the place was empty! Will not go back! Will definitely visit the other Roy’s in Hawaii & Carmel California!

Butterfish is always tender and succulent. Lobster tail was very nicely prepared with an excellent beurre blanc sauce.

Service was fantastic by a most agreeable Jessica!

Worth a visit!
