What a wonderful family evening at Roy's. We had a child and they had a special place set for them for colouring and quickly delivered a snack to keep them happy. We all had a seafood option and all were enjoyed very much. The Mai Tai's were delicious. Sunday and Monday have a 3-course menu, which are a good value.
We were on vacation in the Palm Springs area, and decided to try out this Roy's. It was outstanding (as are all of the Roy's we have been to).
My wife had the lobster, and when it didn't come with drawn butter, she was kind of upset. But when she took a bite, she was so surprised. It was the best lobster she had ever had, absolutely no need for butter (it would have ruined the taste she later admitted).
We all had a wide variety of selections, and everyone agreed the food was excellent. Ambiance was wonderful: just enough bustle to be lively but not so much that conversation was difficult. Service was prompt; there when you wanted it, but not intrusive.
We have always loved going to Roy's on special occasions, and this time reinforced this as one of our primary go-to spots for special occasions.
Very disappointed considering the wonderful restaurant in the area. The chicken was overdone, the salmon tasted funky, the Wagu burger was dry and seems a bit rancid. We used a Groupon thank God. The chocolate soufflé was amazing but must have sat because it was not hot. Just luke warm. I will not go back.
Not overly impressed by the food. I ordered the Trio and wished I had opted for just the Butterfish, as it was the best thing on the plate. The salmon was average and the ahi was good quality, but nothing memorable. Might have liked some type of sauce to dip it in. My husband ordered the short ribs. Not something I would have expected to see on the menu, but he said it was good and the meat appeared very tender. We had the calamari appetizer. Unlike the usual rings, the Roy's version was small pieces. But it was good and the sauce was spicy but tasty. The entree portions seemed somewhat small, compared to the price. We had a gift card that helped, but am not sure that I will return.
Went here for their Sunday/Monday Prix Fix Dinner special. What had been an outstanding offer is now just decent, as they changed the "any" appetizer, entree and desert to "select" of those. Still a pretty good bargain but you're limited to about 8 entrees at the $36 price and there are another half dozen or so at $46. So you will still get your money's worth and still get a very good dinner out but it's not quite the special that it had been.
We each had the seafood special, which included a lobster tail (a bit under cooked), and various other seafood. This was one of the $46 selections and probably not worth the $10 upgrade, IMO. Service was very good, as we had a very entertaining server. I'd still recommend Roy's but nowhere near as emphatically as when they included everything on their menu for this special.
We usually gave a good meal here been about 5 or 6 times all very good Server not attentive Seemed very rushed and in weeds. Absolutly no bussing our table had empty plates and cocktail glasses on our table the whole meal I had to ask twice for water . One of our guests had his empty plates on table still after check was dropped? Very disappointed I don’t onow if I could recommend to friends
I have dined at Roy's many, many times. I met Roy at his first LA restaurant over 30 years ago, and loved his concept. This evening was the first time that I had a bad meal. While the ambiance and service were perfect, the steak was of poor quality and undercooked (despite my lengthy discussion with the waiter at the time of ordering), and the dessert was stale. This is a great restaurant and one bad steak/dessert won't change my mind on that. I plan on going back soon, and anticipate that my entire experience (including the meal) will be great (as usual).
We came to this location for our 7 wedding anniversary celebration. It was nostalgic because a few days after we were married 7 years ago we came to this Roy's. Everything about our meal was fantastic. The food was amazing. The ambiance was perfect. Palmer our server was wonderful. She gave great suggestions for drinks and menu items. She was kind enough to take our picture at the end of the night. It was a magical experience. It was the best choice for an anniversary dinner.
Excellent service from parking valet through waitstaff - including management check-in during dinner. Food was excellent as always - menu is fairly static, but if it’s this good, that’s OK. Wine list is exstensive, but pricey which I have dinged them a star for in the past. However on this visit they had a 50% off deal going on a comprehensive selection of wines which brought their price in line with full price outside retail. Hard to beat that in a restaurant.

Long term favorite. Most things were delicious but my lobster was overcooked and dry.
Next time we'll stick to the marvelous sushi, shrimp , scallops and ribeye. Very noisy for us older folks but we still like it a lot, having been Hawaii residents for many years.
atmosphere very nice. disappointed that our request for Grey Goose Martinis could not be met. Apparently, we were told they do not carry Grey Goose any more? Entrees on their Sunday/Monday Pri-Fix meals were a good value but the seafood appeared alittle overcooked. The Pasadena Roy's does a much better job with their menu meals. A little disappointed as we were entertaining guests.
Wow! We've dined at other Roy's but the experience here in Rancho Mirage was not just the best experience we've had at Roy's but one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.
For starters the valet was prompt, polite and made us feel very welcome. We were about 20 minutes early for our reservation but were seated almost immediately. We were dining for our anniversary and they provided us with a lovely card and desert to celebrate the occasion.
There were at least 5 different employees (hostess, server, busser, manager and valet) who wished us a Happy Anniversary, most of them addressing us by our name.
Our server, Tamara, was friendly, energetic, informative and attentive. She provided exceptional service.
The food was delicious. We shared spring roll appetizer, I had the trio for my entree and my wife had the white fish. All were prepared well and presented perfectly. For dessert we shared a delicious key lime tart.

Our server was excellent; providing great recommendations in a fun and professional manner. Atmosphere is good for dates or special occasions. The food was outstanding. Loved the option of Pre Fix menu with excellent choices. Enjoyed the macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi as well as the filet and shrimp plates. Desserts are the best! Pineapple upside down cake and the banana nut bread pudding were amazing!
