Roy's Rancho Mirage Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was extremely busy. We were a table of two and virtually invisible. After 30 minutes of no service we ordered drinks and asked for some bread. The server brought edamame about 15 minutes later. Our food arrived lukewarm. The manager who walks around greeting tables stopped by about 5 times. Too bad he wasn’t a server! Overpriced for the quality and poor service.
Would not go back.
Love their Mai Tai's. Strong yet tasty! Wife loves the 1988 cocktail. We recommend the Canoe for Two, a delicious assortment of Hawaiian appetizers. The Caesar salad is particularly tasty with it's blue cheese dressing. The lobster bisque could have been creamier. But the chocolate soufflé was a great finish. Jacob, our waiter, was attentive but not overbearing. Love watching the sushi chefs prepare the appetizers.
The Flowers Chardonnay was a wonderful compliment to our Asian flavored meal.
Roy's advertised on e/mail a steak dinner w/free lobster tail .. so we decided to go for it. We dine at Roy's fairly often (mostly for special occasions) and find it consistently excellent. I had the filet mignon and John had the rib eye .. both were exactly as ordered, medium, and they were excellent. The lobster tail was a wonderful addition, we both enjoyed this very special treat. Look forward to returning soon.
The restaurant chain specializes in seafood. It was disappointing to have really overdone mahi-mahi, even after requesting it be served "rare-to-medium-rare" when ordering. The wait staff appeared to be entirely in the late-adolescent to early college age, and the lack of experience showed. Finally, the prices for appetizers and entrees were exorbitant for the quality.
We had never been to this Roy’s. Everything was perfect! From the time we got out of the car until the time we got back in, we could not have asked for a better experience! The valet was great. The bartender was great and even had cucumber for my drink! The server was at the table when we needed him and we can’t say enough about Randy, the manager! Great job to all of you and we will be back!
we enjoy Roy's as often as we are able. decided this time around to concentrate on their many wonderful appetizers and make a meal out of them. We started with lobster potstickers, then the wonderful chinese spare ribs, and finished the meal off with a maui wowie salad. the salad was a tad dry .. could have used a bit more dressing, but we didn't bother to make an issue out of it. enjoyed Roy's wonderful pineapple upside cake for dessert, always a treat. As always we look forward to returning.
Roy's has come to be one of our favorite go to spots for some quiet time together. We like to arrive between 5:00 and 6:30. The bar can be loud, but once you are in the dining room, conversation is easy and the room seems quiet.
I am a fan o the combo boat appetizer. It is perfect for two. Their wedge salad is really a great choice. Seafood and Beef are great. We always enjoy their list of desserts.
Great food, nice environment and attentive staff, all add up to a great time.
We enjoy returning to Roy’s every time we get to Palm Springs. The service continues to be friendly, attentive and professional. The food is always, consistently top notch. The flavours are fresh and distinctive. We absolutely loved Roy’s Trio. I would definitely recommend going there and can’t wait to get back!
There’s a special place in our heart for Roy’s-it never disappoints-food is always consistent and exceptional. Our server today was adorable. Everything was perfect and that’s why we choose it for our special occasions. Scallops, lobster potstickers, seared ahi tuna, and upside down pineapple cake are our favorites-yum.
Roys used to be my favorite restaurant here in the Coachella valley. We took a friend there for his 60th birthday and found they have taken away the things that made it special. The fish was a little fishy, the short ribs were dry, you have to request the Edamame now, and for the birthday they no longer take your photos nor give you a birthday desert. All is all disappointing. Not the Roys we used to love.
Very disappointed to wait 20 minutes past reservation time to be seated and then get stuck at a large table for six (there were only two of us) in an annex far away from the main dining room that looked like a Denny’s. Asked to be relocated to the main dining room, where it turns out there were several tables available. Very puzzling. In any case, from then on the meal was good. The blackened ahi is always good. The Maui shrimp salad was a nice starter. The restaurant is expensive for a chain. Have been to this Roy’s several times, but this visit got off to a very bad start for reasons I still don’t understand.
