I've been here several times. This is one of our favorite restaurant. The seafood is amazing and the best in the Metroplex. Service outstanding. The only complaint I have is it can be fairly noisy in the restaurant.

Service is poor, very slow to deliver food. Third time was the charm with main course being overcooked, average, and steak tasted and looked like pot roast. Not worth the money and won't ever go there again.

Good food, nice staff, however the wine pours are small (4-5 ozs-confirmed by manager) compared to local fine dining industry standards and the prices for the wines do not reflect the small pours. Very disappointing!

Easily my favorite place to eat in Plano. The restaurant is set up such that it doesn't seem crowded even when all of the tables are full. It is easy to have a quiet conversation and to hear the people at your table. The drinks and bar staff are amazing. The food melts in your mouth. I don't eat shellfish, and there are plenty of other choices. The food is consistent and fresh. The wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Disappointed in the whole dining experience.
Lighting was horrible.
Food mediocre at best.
Poke bowl appetizer was varied but the tuna was too salty and the hamachi too dry.
Tried the ‘blackened ahi’ for main course and it was bland...$38.
Also had the steak and it was fatty and thinner than we expected for $47.
I know it’s a seafood place and should have know better than to order a steak...but, if your going to offer it on the menu and ask $47 then you should make it a big friggin piece of meat and cook it right.
We won’t be back and we won’t recommend it to anyone.

Food is always good at Roy's. I had the Roy's trio seafood dish and my husband had a steak which was very tender. We had reservations and were seated right away. It was a Saturday night so it was noisy and a little tight in terms of seating. The waitress had to squeeze past us.
Overall it is a very good place, however the prices are a bit high. For 2 of us, our bill was around $150.00 before the tip.

The food was very good. My husband and I both ordered the butter fish (black cod). We have also dined at Roy's in Hawaii and loved it, which is why we were very excited about the restaurant in Plano. The server may have been inexperienced or new. He wasn't proficient in pouring wine, which is what one would expect when dining at a restaurant of this quality. For example, he poured each of us over a half glass each initially, depleting most of the wine on the first pour. He also seemed to struggle when opening the wine. Plus, he didn't come over to find our how our meal was until we were almost done. We may try it again and hope that the service matches the price of the entrees.

We went on New year's Eve (7pm), and they were already 15 minutes behind. What we ordered should not have cost $60 per person.

Got together with a long-time friend for our annual New Year's dinner. She had the Classic Four, a perfect combination of opposites that kept her interested and intrigued. I love the Roasted Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi in lobster cream sauce. Could use additional sauce on the side! Soooo good. Our server, Emily, was clearly a professional. And well-supported — if someone saw something needed to be done, like remove our plates, they just took care of it. That's a great way to run a restaurant.

Service at Roy’s was stellar! Food was great though I felt the portion size of mine was underwhelming. I had the black cod aka “butterfish”. I’ve had this before at a different restaurant and for roughly the same price. So I was expecting a cut from the thick filet. But this was the tail end- thin and a very small amount. Well prepared but just not much of it on the plate for the price.
My wife had the mahi-mahi of which there was two fair sized pieces. Seems like portion sizes are not consistent.
I will never balk at putting down some major coin for a fine dining experience. But with that I expect just a bit more.

I have been to several locations in Hawaii and California so I was surprised by the level of service we received. To start, we made a reservation on Open Table and there was no notification that there was a limited menu for Christmas Day. We didn’t find out until we got there.

They ran out of wine glasses so I waited ten minutes for my $16 glass of wine to come in a hot wine glass that had just come out of the dishwasher.

The woman helping us was extremely nice but didn’t write down our orders in a way that she could remember what food went where so we had to keep swapping plates.

In the end, the food was good and we had a mostly pleasant experience.

Just moved into a new home a couple of days before before Christmas....So My my wife found a restaurant on Open Table- and we decided to give it a shot.

Not going to go into great detail...and I want to give Roy's the benefit of the doubt- because it was xmas nite- but I feel if you are going to be open- Make sure you can give give the service and the quality that you would get on any other day that you would be open.

Our waiter was not very good. We ask for bread with our steak- and he said- "We don't normally do that....."

Our tea glasses were only filled when we ask.

My bread pudding was burned on the bottom.....

My wife ask for a little more dressing on her salad......3 times........

The steak was pretty good......but it was the service that took an 8 to a 5.

Happy Holidays

The food was tasty but my sons steak was cooked incorrectly we had to send back and when it returned the rest of the family was almost finished with their meal. We waited for drink refills and our check for along time. Our waiter was not very helpful and took no time to explain the choices. Other times when visiting Roy’s that has never been our experience. It was a disappointing trip to Roy’s this was a Christmas family present we looked forward to the visit. It is sad that this is how we will remember our Christmas meal for 2017!

Food was Great as Always! Service was fair, waiter was distracted and behind on everything. Thank goodness he had help. We sat in the Dining Room to the right of the front door, it was extremely cold. The silverware on the table was cold as well. Overall the food was great the other issues could have been taken care of. The desserts that came with the meal were not good. The Bread Pudding and Lemon Tart were stale and old. The Bread Pudding had no flavor.

My family loves Roy's. We have been to Roy's a great deal. We went at least once a week for the first ten years they were open. Once my sons went off to college, I went less. I took my sons on Christmas Eve. Roy's was ridiculously busy, like on Valentine's Day. The service was good, not great. The food was good, not great. I was disappointed with the scallops. They are half the size they used to be. I've been there many busy nights and it's always the same. Less busy nights it's great.

Although we made our reservation ahead on Open Table and requested scallops made the way they used to be on the menu with risotto, when we asked our waiter, he said that the kitchen had no risotto. So, we had the scallops with the black coconut rice which were very good. It was our Anniversary and the restaurant had a small booth reserved with an anniversary greeting. However, the restaurant was not crowded and it would have been nice to have a larger booth where we could have sat next to each other rather than across. Food was excellent and we had good service.
