Great food. Had the Chef’s Korean Special menu. Loved the variety.
I can sum this up that we had great food and great service. The portions were a little bit on the small side and the quality and taste of the food is excellent.
Roy’s was excellent as usual. The Dallas location is the best Roy’s.
We had a wonderful dinner and the chocolate soufflé was AMAZING!!!!!
Must return for a repeat!
The meal was amazing...every bite delicious and beautifully presented. The service was fantastic. We felt very well taken care of without it being intrusive. It was comfortable and relaxed and not at all rushed.
Food and service were exceptional. Steak and lobster were perfect!
We went specifically for the Mahalo Monday special. Any appetizer, and entree and any dessert on their regular menu for $39.95. You just can’t beat that deal. The food was excellent. Service was good. We’ll go back for this special again (which currently runs through the end of August).
Wow! This location is on par with the Roy's on the actual Hawaiian Islands. I recently dined at the one in Kona and I felt personally invited to the Plano location for my Birthday! The little personal touches from the moment we parked to the Chef personally making the most of our low carb gluten free Birthday Celebration! They get my highest recommendation for casual to special occasions!
Swordfish was over-cooked. Manager came by, agreed fish was overcooked, and offered to re-do the dish or order something else. Otherwise, the experience was very good.
We have consistently loved Roy's. Both in Hawaii and at home here in Dallas. The food never fails to please and the service is always wonderful. We did learn on an earlier visit that the formally automatic edamame must now be requested and that was a disappointment as we always found it a signature of Roy's. This visit might have been slip but we also found that the vegitables, usually sizable, were a bit hard to find on the plate. All else considered, another wonderful night!
It's Roy's! Hawaiian French Fusion! There's nothing like it! I've been dining at Roy's on Oahu (HI), Guam, and across the United State for the past 25 years and let me tell you, everything that makes a restaurant like Roy's one the best restaurants ever, has been consistent from day 1. The entire menu is delicious! The service is outstanding! And the ambiance is always so cozy. It can be romantic, it can be all business, or just a place to hangout at the bar with a few friends and enjoy each other's company. We just ate and celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary at the one here in Plano (Dallas), Texas. What a great place! A wonderful evening! The folks here at Roy's are polite, patient, respectful, and professional. And lets not forget Chef John Sikhattana...what an amazing individual! We love Chef John! If you haven't been to Roy's, go check it out, you won't regret it....
Our entrees were just OK. Food preparation was not as balanced compared to when last visited this location in 2018. Pineapple Upside Down was an awesome desert.
We LOVE Roy's! The food is always amazing and the service is fabulous.
Noise level was perfect for our family birthday celebration.
The two steaks that were ordered medium rare were more medium. Our server was attentive and likable.
I took my family to Roy's twice a week for 10 years, until my boys went off to college. I always got the Maui Wowie salad. I had it again recently. It has changed completely. The salad I was served did not resemble the menu description. Instead of butter lettuce, it was 90% arugula. It had far less shrimp and avocado than in the past. It was like they were out of the normal ingredients and just served me what they had. When my server came to clear and saw I had eaten 10-20% of my salad, he asked if everything was ok. When I explained the above, he took it off my tab. My Lakanilau Roll was great. My son's Lobster Cali Roll and Salmon were great. Our Key Lime and bread pudding were excellent.
Decent ambience in a relatively quiet setting. Good selection of dishes, all well prepared. Very good food and service at this price point. Great value for the money.
My wife and I always enjoy Roy’s and this was no exception. We both like seafood and my wife is gluten free, and she especially enjoys the “butterfish” dinner. I had the Roy’s trio, which is comprised of ahi tuna butterfish and hibachi salmon, always good. Our server was friendly and saw to our needs. As we were finishing our dinner chef John came by our table and asked if we enjoyed our dinner. Clearly he could see our cleaned plates, we asked about the butterfish and how they cooked it as it was so delicate. He patiently explained the 3 day process for preparing and cooking the fish. He asked a few questions of us and we had a nice conversation. Overall we had a very nice quiet dinner and will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our dinner at Roy's. The fish dishes we had were very tasty. Service is good and it is a relaxing atmosphere. My only concern is the portions are on the smaller side.
Great!! Food was awesome!
The food is consistently good and fresh. It’s a little pricey, but with a coupon, it’s reasonable for the quality. Plus, the service people are very professional and polite.
We had a 6:45 reservation but didn’t leave the restaurant until 8:45. Tables around us were seated after us and left before us. The entire evening took way too long. So frustrating.
The meal was delicious and the service was on point. I enjoyed getting to go out and have a nice relaxing meal.
Service was slow. Food only soso.
We brought friend's who had never been. The food was outstanding. The service was outstanding. We truly enjoyed the evening. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this restaurant 👌👍😊
We had a fine time except that my husband’s “Butterfish” came out undercooked and when they re-made it, it came out undercooked AGAIN! The waiter didn’t say anything about comping the meal. We also came to the restaurant because we had a coupon but were told we couldn’t use it because we ordered the “special” and it “locked the manager out of the system.” Our appetizers were good but we were disappointed with the main meal and the coupon situation.
Service was spot on and food was delicious. Will definitely be back!
We did the coffee crusted bone in pork loin and it was fantastic. It was on the Chef's special menu. The chef even delivered it himself to the table. Highly recommend it. The service was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
The butterfish was incredible as always, amazing service. I will absolutely be back soon!
Roy's Plano is our go-to place for fine dining. It consistently has delicious food, thoughtful waiters, and a wonderful ambiance worthy of the price of fine dining. Every visit gives us the feeling that we were the special couple of the evening and can't wait to find another excuse to go back!
Lobster tail was a bit over cooked. Rib appetizer was wonderful as usual; so tender & flavorful & nor fatty. Hawaiin martini was great, although I prefer the fresh pineapple slice. The alcohol soaked pineapple piece was too strong! Pineapple upside down cake was also phenomenal, as was the bread pudding. I know you try to keep the menu fresh, but the mashed potatoes served with the Shellfish Sampler doesn’t really pair as well as the Jasmine rice. And they were kind of bland. Some dill or chives & sour cream would have improved the flavor. Had a problem getting the correct sauce. The wasabi sauce you used to serve was excellent. The ginger wasabi sauce is nice, although a bit too sweet. Didn’t like the blue crab sauce at all. And the Lobster sauce is nothing to write home about. The service was pretty nice, except for the mix-up with the sauces. I love going here because it’s a little slice of Aloha. We lived on Oahu for 4 years and dining at Roy’s always takes us back. Mahalo!
Great food and good atmosphere - We recommend highly.
Brought in a group to celebrate birthdays and service was not the norm. We ended up with two servers that didn’t seem to communicate with each other and dessert orders were messed up. They did comp a couple desserts but was disappointed with the evening overall. This is one of our favorite restaurants that we visit several times a year and the first time we’ve experienced poor service.
Roy's is a bit of a conundrum. The fish is delicious, but ludicrously expensive. The plating is beautiful, but the portions small. the service is efficient, but heartless. Tasty but equally good food at much better prices is available elsewhere.
The lobster pot stickers were amazing! The Kona infused bone-in pork chop was fabulous. My wife had the seafood sampler. The lobster was over salted and not edible. However, management was more than generous to make it right. They gave us free dessert and a $25.00 gift certificate for our next visit. We will be back.
Wish we had one in St Louis. Terrific place
Roy’s delivers great Hawaiian fare without the 9 hour flight! Always such a special treat, and this trip was no different. The Ebi roll is some of the best sushi I’ve ever tried, and the Butterfish melts in your mouth.
I have eaten at Roy's many times over the years and even hosted my corporate holiday party there. However, this visit did not measure up in my opinion. The food has always been expensive but now is ridiculous. While my scallops and my husband's mahi were tasty, where are the vegetables? For the price, I expect more. The service was not good. Slow. And, I never want to be addressed as "my love" by wait staff.
I would still recommend the happy hour but will probably not be back for dinner, at least in Plano, for a while.
Outstanding experience (atmosphere, service and dinner).
We go to Roy's regularly, and quite often for special occasions. We went for Father's Day again this year. I was very disappointed with the service. It was very obvious they were understaffed. The food came out cold. This was quite different from when we have gone before.
