We always dine here the food and place is great but our service the last time we ate was so terrible ! Waiter took order without introducing herself and not mentioning any special , the food took so long and when it arrived just drop it without a word never came back and ask if we need anything we constantly have to ask other staff to call our waiter ! Such a terrible service ! I should have taken her name !
‘Pretty much perfect! I get together with a friend every month, for dinner. We usually come to Roy’s Pasadena because we love the food and the service ... Always top notch!
Everyone was great. My mom loved the card, photo and birthday cake.
The food and service is exceptionally excellent. The ambiance of being in a Hawaiian style restaurant is good, and the Hawaiian style food is a good change from the typical American or Mexican meals that you normally have.
Food was amazing and the service was excellent! Thank you for a great evening!
Went to Roy’s at the last minute tonight and had the beat time. Haven’t been there in sometime and now I feel like I was missing out on some delicious meals 😢
We go here often, this time service and food was not up to par.
Dry, bland, tasteless, mediocre food w exorbitant prices. Would not return.
Food is OK but not great, price is
Expensive . Service was good.
Although we go here a lot, we used the Gilt City voucher this time & the waitress was like meh to us the whole time. We had to ask like 3-4 times for the same thing. I really like this restaurant in general so hate to say this time didn’t make the cut. We will probably go back & hope we don’t get her again.
Solid consistency in food. Butter fish is always a must for us, however not on limited lunch menu. The lunch menu is more reasonable. The dinner menu is more expansive and features a variety of different menu item. Fish portions are not especially generous but very tasty with a melt in your mouth texture. Service generally excellent. The atmosphere is quiet and good for having conversations over a meal. Some dessert items require advance notice so be sure to ask when ordering. The negatives, no bread provided before the meal so unless appetizers, you sip your drinks until the meal comes. Also no validated parking so add about $12 plus to the meal. There is valet but there is a wait as I think they take the cars to the self park lot anyway. Valet is $10, so with tip probably about the same cost as self park. Only issue is we waited about 10 minutes with no one there - so went self park.
Food took a while to arrive, about 45 miuntes. Less salty than my previous experience about 9 months ago. Came here this time around with my two children to celebrate my husband's birthday & because we received a $100 gift card and wanted to give Roy's another chance. Ambience was quiet because we came on a Monday. Overall, I give it a 4 stars.
Great seating space for privacy. Recognized my allergies in advance and offered to cook separately without risking cross contamination. Valet convenient but very slow. Experienced server and food well prepared and plated. Not a steakhouse leaning to seafood and combos.
Awesome place! Good food good service!
My family and I went to Roy's to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday during a Sunday lunch. Expecting to have the full menu available, there was only a limit lunch menu which was not very good and uneventful. The lunch meals they offered came with small portion soup, salad, entrée, and plastic packaged cookies!...Presentation was horrible for Roy's!
This is a great place for a date night or bar scene. The food is phenomenal!
We treated ourselves on our 48th anniversary by going to Roy’s. We had eaten lunch there last summer and were impressed with the food and service. Roy’s made sure we enjoyed our evening by acknowledging our anniversary when we arrived and escorting us to our reserved table. Lobster potstickers preceded our steak and lobster tail entree which were cooked to perfection. Complimentary dessert was served! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
Our son's favorite, he lives for the butterfish. We come whenever he is visiting.
Roy's is always a consistently good restuarant with quality food and great service. They never make you feel rushed and let you take your time. Food is always good.
Not what it used to be . Very expensive and you get low quality ingredients cooked by not vet skilled personnel . It really a shame considering what this place could be and it was several years ago. The Roy's franchise experiment unfortunately failed ! I don't know why Yamaguchi gave away the concepts to a corporation that make the same quality of a fast food chain !
I got this from Wikipedia : 20 mainland locations Roy's were owned and operated by Bloomin' Brands, Inc., until December 2014 when they were sold to United Ohana, LLC. The locations of Hawai'i and Pebble Beach, California, remain under original ownership.
I ate few years ago in their Waikiki location and it was very good !
We went to celebrate report cards. Did their fixed price menu (available Sunday and Monday dinner only). Great value. Great service.
Always enjoy Roy’s. They have a nice wine list and the food is great. There are a number of new menu items to try, but you still can’t beat Roy’s Trio, unless it’s with the ‘Classic Four’! Service was good even with some big groups there. Enjoyable evening.
The people that work at the restaurant are very kind. After we finished dinner my girlfriend and talked for about an hour since we haven’t seen each other in about a year. The waiter was very kind by not giving us dirty look.
It was fine
We had the best time at Roy’s. Our hostess Brianne was gracious and friendly. As a matter of fact, she greeted us as the birthday party. Server Dillon was wonderful and made sure we had our food timely but never rushed. We had the canoe appetizers for four and selected the pre fixe menus. Delicious!
We've been going to Roy's for decades and always enjoyed it. This time we were very disappointed in the food, and at their prices the food should be impeccable. Service was very good though.
Reconnect with old friend
The food was amazing!! Really good and great service
Malachi provided extraordinary service! We took him up on and thoroughly enjoyed his recommendations for food and drinks!
Great food. Great drinks
We went to Roy's for dinner on Valentine's Day. The service was very attentive considering the busy occasion. They served a limited menu which was a bit disappointing but the food was superb as usual.
It was an amazing experience, thank you!
Donnelly, I have glowing reviews of this restaurant. However, this time we are there for Valentine's Day and honestly, it is about the worst day of the year a person can dine there. One, they crammed in a whole bunch more tables so they could get more people in there to eat. Then, they rushed us through our dinner at an alarming pace. As soon as we're done with the appetizer, they brought the next course and the next one and then finally the dessert, one literally right after the other with no rest in between. It was as if they're watching us which might explain why our food that was supposed to be hot was only warm. Oh, then the price fix menu that they had which we thought was just an option, was the only menu we could order off of. I had specifically called a few days before and asked about the price fix menu and if it could be shared which I was told no and because I'm a light eater I knew I would be able to eat all the food on that menu, so I said well then I guess I will just order off the appetizer menu to which I was told OK that would be fine. Well, there was no appetizer menu, only the price fix menu. The amount of money we had to pay was 3 to 4 times what we normally pay when we dine near because prior visits allow us to share whatever food we order. We could have said something to the manager with the time, but there so many people there, I knew they wouldn't listen to us. Part of me wanted to walk right out of the restaurant, but we were already seated and they were expecting us to order food and we did not want to say anything because of the crowd. In retrospect, we should have just left. And, to rub more salt into the wound, when we walked out, we saw people eating food on their table that was in fact not on the price fix menu. If this is only menu we were told that was being offered, then why were they eating food items that weren't on the menu? We are very come a very upset.
Fresh and wonderful... Always great service and love coming here... were here for Valentines Day and my only wish was along with the special menu for the day, that there regular menu would have also been available. Mind you, the special menu was outstanding (4 course), but for 2 people, each with a 4 course meal... that is a ton of food, so would have liked to get one off that menu and then been able to add just an entree for the second meal so I would not have had to roll out of there...LOL. Thanks to Roys for a wonderful evening!
Everything was spectacular, as usual. A great meal at a great value!
My wife’s favorite restaurant, and mine too! Always a great experience at Roy’s. Can’t wait to come back.
As usual server very good and friendly and food was amazing
from presentation to that final glorious last taste. Only problem
with young lady seating us but assistant manager apologised.
We had gone here many time and will do so for many more
time and this was the only hiccup.
The ambiance was refreshing. The food was delicious and tasty. Recommend for date night, special occasions, quiet get away. The staff was very attentive.
