My wife and I shared the appetizers--pork ribs and wedge salad and we both had the Chilean sea bass. The food was excellent and the service was very good
The food was outstanding! The only small issue was that the server, while very nice and accommodating, didn't come around to check on us to see if we needed anything. We had a little bit of a challenge getting her attention when we needed drinks refilled, etc. Other than that, we were very happy with Roy's and will be back.
Very sad that they removed the Bento box entree from the menu. I understand that restaurants change but it would be nice to keep something similar to the stuff that makes them unique.
The Executive Chef Payo is awesome
Usually very pleased with dinner at Roy's. Unfortunately, they've raised their prices again & it's getting too expensive for "non event" dining. The recent special lacked seasoning & was overpriced.
The food was leas than I expected. The service was even worse for a restaurant like this. Very disappointed.
Very disappointed and will not be going back to Roy's. Second time the food was not good. On this visit. Salad came with no shrimp. My chicken was overcooked and totally dry. My wife's salmon was raw in the middle. No compensation was made by the manager. Overpriced, not worth it. Many better choices.
Celebrated mom’s bday with family. Everyone is very satisfied with their choices. There’s nothing bad to comment. The Chilean sea bass is so soft it melts in your mouth like butter. The chocolate soufflé is decadent. We had a great time. They even had a bday card for my mom wishing her a happy bday
Manger Michele chin was rude!!! Never going back as long as she is there.
Roy's in Pasadena is a nice quiet place to enjoy lunch with friends/family.
Enjoyed the salmon lunch plate. It was just right. Didn't leave hungry.
The food is always fantastic at this restaurant and the service is always outstanding as well. The staff is always friendly and every dish we have eaten is great.
A little disappointed with the food. Both meat and vegetables where a bit overcooked and a little too much salt.
Normally Roy’s fish is cooked to perfection, medium rare. Not tonight. All fish and calamari we seriously over cooked.
Food was excellent as expected from a Roy's Restaurant. Value for Mahalo Monday was an amazing deal. Service was very slow. Wait time after finishing each course was 15 minutes or more.
The service was a little bit slow, and I just felt a little lack lustered. Maybe it was because they weren't busy, but I just didn't feel like it was even that fun. I was here for my birthday and it felt like that was a lot more fun than this time. Food was amazing as always, and we loved the little cheese cake that came with it. I guess say it was the service that was the problem.
My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant! Been going here for years. The extra $ off incentive was a huge perk. Everyone, from the hostesses to our wait staff, are just so friendly and attentive. We do have our favorites. There’s Carl and Heather. Sorry Carl. You haven’t been there the last few times that we’ve been there so...Heather is our new bestie! Lol Still love you Carl! Seriously, this restaurant has such a phenomenal menu. The blackened ahi is one of our favs. They do it for an appetizer. The butterfish is my husbands go to dish. I, on the other hand, want a steak on our Saturday nights out. The filet is cooked medium and I ask it to be charred. OMG! It’s amazing! So I give this restaurant the rating it deserves...10.
Rude Hostess over priced food. Server was good though
We dined at the Pasadena Roy’s. Wife had the butterfish Excellent. My shrimp was dry, cold, and flavorless. I wont order that again. Very bad deal.
Better to spend your hard dollars somewhere else.
Good food and service
Very nice restaurant for fish and atmosphere. This was my first visit, so I was not able to taste any of the steak or poultry dishes. This was for my Birthday, so I received a free chocolate dessert. That was very nice and good! I would like to try another dish soon!
Always a pleasure dining at Roy's in Pasadena! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Can't go wrong here!
Our server came over three times; once to take our drink order, our food order, and then to drop off the check. That’s not great service to me, especially when the restaurant was not busy. Pretty disappointed.
Food was good not great. For the price I expect great. Service was very good professional and efficient. I think our food was left under a heat lamp for at least 10 min before it was brought to our table. And for two $50+ entrees that’s not right. It was dried out the surface and just didn’t look great. Overall I had a nice time going out with my wife but Roy’s wasn’t the reason.
Great as always. Try the Canoe for Two.
Korean Short ribs didn't taste very Korean. No garlic or onions.
Service was great, food was great, however, little disappointed in the size of the lobster
on the Filet /Lobster meal. Food was excellent, just a little small on the lobster.
We'll be back. Better experience that we had in the L.A. Roy's.
Received a welcome to the neighborhood gift card for $40.00 off with a minimum purchase of $100.00. Read the fine print twice to make sure we could use it. Our bill was well over $100.00 but the rude manager said we could not use it because we ordered from the chefs pick! WTH?!?! I told her it was not in their fine print but she didn’t care. When I said we would never go back she said oh well. Horrid customer service and unprofessional manager.
We went on a Sunday for lunch and everything was very salty. I wouldn’t get the lobster potstickers. The sauce may have had lobster flavor but the potstickers themselves were not worth the price. Most of my group got the lunch combo and again everything was salty except the two cookies that came with the meal which were way too sweet.
We always have their Butterfish because it's so good. Our friends have the Ahi Tuna and loved it. It's a great place for fish. Never disappoints.
Enjoyed a fine meal with excellent service, as usual.
Roy’s does NOT disappoint...thank you for the great food experience!
Came to town to visit our daughter.
Verrrry expensive for a mediocre place with food that is just ok.
Food and service always excellent, with various surprises to the menu.
We had an exceptionally good time, eating and enjoying food and friends at Roy's on aug. 22. Each of the 4 of us had a different dish and each exclaimed it was delicious. It has definitely become one of our go-to places.
Food was okay but expected more for the price
It had been quite some time since we dined at Roys having been disappointed in the past.Because it was half off wine on Wednesday night and we had a $40.00 coupon the dinner was priced okay. I ordered the shellfish combo and my spouse ordered the shrimp over noodles dish. My lobster was of the less expensive quality and the 3 shrimp were of the cheapest quality. I ate one shrimp and wouldn’t touch the other because I didn’t care for the texture. The one scallop was good. I think that for $51.00 a better quality of seafood could have been used. My spouse’s shrimp was of a very nice quality and he was nice enough to share. I thought that his noodles were a bit too saucy though he liked the dish. We both agreed though that without the coupon we wouldn’t have gone and I said deal or not it’s just not worth it to me. This is probably why they keep sending out coupons but, without bringing up the quality they will not be able to keep the business the coupons brought in.
I wasn’t very pleased this time. Roy’s is just an average restaurant anyways, but agreed to go because my Cousin wanted to go for her birthday. We were all disappointed with the limited selection in their lunch menu. We ordered the garlic edamame to start. It came out so spicy (menu only says garlic) that we had to send it back. Mostly I was really upset at the slow service. We were the first group seated for lunch in the restaurant, and about ten tables filled in afterwards. Some how, we were the last table to receive our food. Arrived at noon, and I had to rush out at 1:30 to make it to my next appointment, and that’s after flagging someone down to bring the check. Nope, I won’t be back.
Not so sure. We got a $40 coupon which could be used when you spend over $100. In the menu it featured a Korean theme set dinner for $44 which was a three course set dinner. We were impressed and we ended up all ordered this set dinner. Right after ordering the waitress then stated that in case you have the $40 coupon it doesn't apply to this set dinner. This caught everyone in surprise. We wish there was some saying about the exclusion upfront. Also the waitress attitude and her facial expression was definitely not up to this restaurant standard.
