Roy's Orlando Ratings and Reviews
For some inexplicable reason, we waited two hours for our dinner. The only thing we had between arrival and dinner was salad and one sushi roll. They offered free dessert, But honestly at that point we did not want to be there any longer. Once the food did arrive it was amazing. The food was so good we will definitely go back and hope that an incident like this doesn’t happen again.
We ordered the 34 oz Tomahawk Ribeye (which cost $89.99 by the way!) and what comes out is very little meat attached to a hugh bone instead! There is not much meat to be shared between 2 people! What a major disappointment!
Also, watch out for extras that appears on your bill for things that you didn’t ordered so check your bills carefully!!!
New Years Eve this restaurant was THE worse and franchise owner was rude and insulting. They ran out of food in their MANDATORY evening 4 course Pre fixe. Ran out of entrees deserts etc.... a complete disaster and made ZERO effort to offset the mandatory cost. Like all franchises they are only a s good as owner operator. THIS IS A ZERO avoid at all cost there are tons of other chains in Orlando to use.
Roy’s has long been a favorite restaurant of ours. After reading several negative reviews recently, we were nervous that it would be a disappointment. Fortunately, this was not the case. Both my husband and I enjoyed our Maui Wowie salads, and our desserts were fabulous! For my entree I had the aloha roll and my husband had the chicken—both were very good if not outstanding. I subtracted one star because my husband said the men’s bathroom was quite dirty. He felt like this did not match the level of a restaurant like Roy’s. Otherwise, though, our experience was solid. We will be back again.
Horrific. We've been to Roys in CA and Hawaii as well as this location in Orlando and have always been pleased. Last night was surreal. After being seated, it took 20 min for our waitress to come by to greet us. She took our drink orders. It took 15 minutes to see her again with drinks and to take our orders. We put in an app order for 2 sushi rolls and 3 miso soups. As well as 5 meals. 45 minutes went by and no appetizers. Our waitress came by and refilled drinks. Never said our appetizers were coming out shortly or anything. Finally after 45 min i asked if they were coming out. She looked at me like i had 5 heads. Said she would check. She acted like she had no recollection of us ordering anything. She came back 10 min later and said they were working on it. ??? Why were they just getting it together after i asked ? Mind you, we've now been there an hour and a half. Finally someone comes out with 2 sushi rolls. No soup. I remind them about 3 soups. Come back with 2 soups. Drop them and leave before i can ask about 3rd. Waitress comes back and ask about 3rd soup. She comes back 15 min later with soup. Our heads are ready to explode. The miso was awful. Thick and nasty. Not like any I'd ever had. Was not edible. About 15 min later, our meals come out. Mine was the wrong entree. But it was vegetarian, which i had ordered off the veg menu, so i just went with it because it would be another 2 hours for them to sort out their mess. The food was subpar. Complete waste of money and time. I have no idea what was wrong with the waitress. The whole experience was bizarre. I'm sure there is more that i missed writing about. It was endless.
The manager was circulating the whole time and never stopped at our table though for over 1 1/2 of our time there, there was no food on our table. Unreal. The restaurant was only half full. No idea why they couldn't get it together. Will not return.
For many years, this has been one of my favorite restaurants, especially for fresh fish, properly prepared and presented. My last three visits have been rather disappointing however, due to the fish being over cooked and / or dry and not served hot. Last night, I actually had to send my salmon back and ask for another meal. While the manager was understanding and cooperative about my complaint, it’s strike three — so their out. I might try it again in a few months, but with so many choices along Restaurant Row, it moves down in the rotation.
Went in after mass on Christmas day. It was early and quite empty and therefor pretty quiet. Waiter David was great. Chateaubriand was ok. I wasnt blown away by the veggies and would never have been my choice. Bread pudding and brownie desserts were best part of meal but being diabetic i felt mine was too much. i prefer the tiny desserts at Olive Garden. Very $$$$ to boot.
Awesome meal Xmas eve night! We are locals. Managing Partner-Brian and his team provide a wonderful experience every time we visit. Thanks for always remembering our names and assisting to make my elderly mother feel accommodated and assisted. She loves coming here as we do too! Thanks!
Edamame served at tableside instead of bread is a real bonus. Short rib, mashed e& rapini were on point. Wagyu sushi not so much. It seemed like they used the stringy muscle end bits . Chocolate explosion soufflé was amazing . Service was customer oriented.
One of our favorites when in Orlando. We were not disappointed in any way. Love to sit at the Chef's Bar and watch the pros. Service was as good if not better than at a table. Wait staff were very knowledgeable about all aspects, food and drink, on and off the menu. High end place but well worth the price. Brought back memories of first time in Hawaii.
We have been to Roy’s before and had a great time, but this time it was not a great experience. The server at the table next to us was so load, that we could not hear our server. Our server got into a “argument” with one of our guests about Medium well steaks and overall it was just not as great as what we had remembered. Food was ok, but not amazing.
We’ve always had great dinners here in the past however it appears there’s been a huge turnover in staff. No special attention for anniversary, steak was dry and was replaced, overall attention was mediocre. Not how it used to be.
I hardly ever do reviews, but felt it was important to pass my comments on to management. I went to Roy's on a date on Friday, December 1st. We had 6:15 pm reservations in which we arrived at 6:25 pm(we called to let them know we were running late). The hostess was very pleasant. We ended up having a server that first greeted us at the table that said that he would take our order, since the other server had not made it to our table. The server that took our order ended up being the server for us that evening. He was pleasant. He seemed busy attending to a few tables, because it took a little while to get our food and to get him to bring the check to the table. I enjoyed my meal. It was the short rib. My date's meal was scallops. It was a $30+ dish and it had 4 scallops and some greens and other dish side. One of the scallops looked like it had been cut off because it had a straight edge to it. It was not adequate; however, we did not mention anything because we were getting very close to the needed time to leave to make it to our show on time. We have been to another Roy's (in the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Arizona) and have always had great service and ambience, especially when only sitting outside. They still manage to create a pretty atmosphere. The lack of ambience in the back of the restaurant in which we were sat had 3 simple pictures on the wall and we had the view of the emergency exit door. We still will eat at Roy's, but will continue to go to the one in Arizona where we get a great experience.
We visited the Roy's in Hawaii and loved it so we gave the Roy's in Orlando a try and it did not disappoint! From the hand crafted cocktails to the decadent deserts it was a great dining experience. The service was great as well as the food. We ordered off the prefix menu. I can't wait to go back again!
What an amazing family dinner! I'm impressed with how they cater to the children with the children's menu, very classy. Had the lobster bisque and a sushi roll, both so good. My husband and I shared the Tomahawk rib eye for 2. Outstanding! The service was very very good and the sangria was unique. Everything was 5 star!
