Roy's - Kaanapali
Amazing food and service!! We’ll be back.
Food was so delicious, and the staff service was great. We would definitely come back again.
We always visit Roy’s when we are in Maui. Outstanding food, friendly service and our daughter loves the meatloaf and the chocolate soufflé!
Great Service and food was delicious. We had a wonderful server who was very personable. Food was fresh, and prepared to perfection.
Went there last July and we had a great meal. Came back in May and was completely disappointed. It was overly warm inside, the hostess forgot us at the bar and I had to go back and check on our table. Got the table, service was attentive but the food was disappointing and not as positively memorable as it was in July 2018
We’ve been to three or four different Roy’s. Each menu is a bit different but all have great food and service.
This Roy’s is located on a golf course and offered some tremendous food and drink choices. We each had a perfect Mai Tai.
Dinner began with an amazing Poke. For our entree, we share, we had their Seafood Collection which is basically clams, mussels, scallops, shrimp, squid, fresh caught fish and lobster in a semi-spicy tomato broth. Delicious doesn’t quite describe just how magnificent the meal was.
We finished with a Meyer lemon tart.
Roth day and Mothersday
The food used to be so out of this world delicious. Maybe an off night since it was busy.
Roy's has been a favorite of our family for years. The menu is always varied and the preparations are delicious. The wines by the glass menu was rather limited, which was a disappointment to us. I wish they offered more options. The service is excellent. Have the Pineapple Upside Down Cake!
This was our second time to Roy's. We love the food and the servers are very attentive. Everything is delicious. Make sure to leave room for the Molten Lava Cake for dessert.
We had a delicious early dinner at Roy’s. Our knowledgeable server recommended the canoe appetizer, which we appreciated, since it was scrumptious and gave a nice variety of flavors. He also spent time answering questions and making menu recommendations. We split the au (swordfish) entree, which was a huge portion, and shared dessert. It was a fabulous meal and was presented beautifully.
We went to breakfast, which was a good fit in our schedule as eating at Roy's was a must for us. We each had french toast and a side of bacon. Since minimal fruit came on the french toast plate, we ordered a fruit plate and we had one orange juice. The bill exceeded $50, so keep that in mind if it is important to your budget. The fruit plate duplicated the fruit on our french toast and was minimal, I advise to skip it. Service was excellent. We both had 2 slices of french toast left over and enjoyed it the next day for breakfast. Left over fruit from the fruit plate added a pretty garnish for the second breakfast.
We had not been to Roys on Maui for many years so decided to try this new location. Food was outstanding and service was very good.
A lovely, quiet location to indulge in great food. We decided that Roy’s appetizers were perfect for a light dinner. Tomato bisque, Roy’s blackened ahi and pot stickers finished with molten chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream made a great meal!
A must do for holidaymakers in the area. Excellent food supported by very good service and wines. Sunset view over the golf course was very good indeed.
Overall it was very nice, the food was great and the service was amazing!!! Perfect spot for a nice meal on vacation. A little pricey but definitely worth it.
The fish was prepared and cooked just right and the service was first class.
Food was good, but not a ton of options for non-seafood eaters. I wish they had more appetizers that included chicken and beef. Otherwise, they surprised us with an anniversary dessert which was sweet :)
Not so good and very expensive
We celebrated or anniversary at Roy’s Maui. The restaurant is very clean and beautiful with huge windows overlooking the 18th hole of the Kaanapali golf course. The food was delicious and offered several fresh Hawaiian fish entrees as well as steaks. We ordered the chocolate lava cake for dessert, plus we were presented with a complimentary dessert from Roy’s. Parking was not a problem. We had a great time!
Great service & great food!
Lunch was reasonable and plenty of it. I would go there again. They had a birthday hat and a card signed by the employees for our birthday guy!
Great all around
This was our best meal on Maui (so far). Service was great, professional and helpful. The blackened ahi and butterfish combo outstanding, and the butterfish starter with a side of rice just right for my wife.
Always a great meal at Roy’s. On this occasion, I enjoyed the Filet Mignon with bacon jam. The steak was perfectly prepared.
Service rushed. Did not take wine order with dinner. Entree came before I was halfway through my cocktail. Swordfish was good but a little under cooked. No refill of water or my husband's soda. Upside down pineapple cake was wonderful!!!
A very enjoyable evening and great service
The food and service at Roy’s is always top notch. My favorite is the short ribs. They are the best I’ve had anywhere. Moist and tender with a delicious mustard sauce. My husband had the swordfish which was also great. Just wish the Roy’s in Kīhei was still around. We’ve missed it!
I went here after almost 20 years and its still fairly consistent. Service was excellent. Food was very good but by no means outstanding,
Portion sizes were too big- Too much food on a platter always puts me off, but I believe that the food should leave you wanting for more and not asking for a doggie bag or feeling overstuffed.
The much talked about molter lava cake was good but it is not a souffle so they need to stop calling it that- kind of tacky for a high end place to do so.
Good wine list- Roys label Pinot was good- I guess if you come to Maui you have to go to Roys and you will leave here happy
I love the new location. I’m wish I had been by earlier. Great space, sleek design and comfortable with a great view. Rodrigo was a wonderful waiter and all of the service team was efficient and genuinely friendly.
Food was sub par. Ate at this location before, was better last time. Some food was hot, others warm if best.
This review is being sent because I never made this reservation, have never been to Hawaii, but Open Table sent me the reservation confirmation. Efforts I made to remove my account failed. Open Table is irresponsible, careless and disappointing. This restaurant should stick to direct. I hope the poor person who tried to make the real reservation enjoyed the meal.
Rack of lamb was delicious
Michael, our server was very personable, cheerful, and had a great sense of humor. He was very good at helping us make choices on the menu, and wine pairing. Presented the options, then discussed with us. Gave us the right amount of time to decide.
Good was good, service was good. I had the surf and turf and my steak was not great but everything else was delicious. The waiter was a bit chatty but very attentive.
Food was excellent. Chocolate soufflé was AMAZING!!
Everything was Great !
Great spot for delicious entrees with lots of flavor! The atmosphere is more of a cafe but don’t let that disappoint you, we had a wonderful dinner, was impressed by the children’s menu as well! Son had short ribs and loved it, I had the miso mongchong which was a delight and the hub had the spicy seared Ahi, also well prepared! Will return on our next Maui visit!
Out of state friends were visiting. I haven’t been back to Roy’s in a while (over a year) due to the pricey menu items but since friends were visiting we took the plunge.
Was so easy to make a reservation through Open Table and came with a notice of only high top tables were available. Not knowing what that meant, I called the restaurant and spoke with Jacob. He explained that it was a tall table with tall chairs. Got it.
We got there and was greeted by Jacob and Tiana who had us seated right away. Table was near and in view of the kitchen. Although a planter separated the noise from the kitchen was constant. Not good for ambiance.
Our server, Barry, was able to suggest several vegetarian dishes for one of our party members.
I had the Duck 2 Ways done medium rare. The duck was done perfectly that included a leg and sliced breast meat. Two different sauces came with the dish. One was a fruit based sauce and a spicy mustard sauce. Very tasty and would get it again.
Other dishes included the misoyaki butterfish which looked appetizing. Had it before and it’s one of their specialties.
Overall, our experience was very good and would recommend Roy’s to anyone. They accommodate vegetarians too.
Very nice dining experience. Only if it wasn’t too hot seated by the window it would be perfect!
