Our server seemed more interested in sounding off about himself than enquiring about us and our dining wishes. He was peremptory and a bit too offhanded when describing the dishes. In fact he only gave details on two that he would order but was informative on others when asked.
He insisted we order our main courses with our appetizers because “you'll have to wait up to twenty minutes for your main course otherwise”. As it was, our main was slickly on the table as soon as we finished the appetizers.
Our bill was presented before we were invited to order any dessert and without checking for how we wished it prepared.
I got the sense we were somewhat in the way and our seniors' bus needed to pull out.
All in all, a disappointing experience and very expensive evening due to a hustling server.
By the way, the food was very good and the ambiance upbeat.
Everyday dining turned into my “70th” BD party courtesy of the manager. Green served us water and had the most infectious personality! Great time and wonderful memories!
Close to Westin maui resort and spa
You can walk there
The food was very good and the service was great, good wine selection. just thought we were rushed a little, wanted to just have some us time between husband and wife on vacation. Would go back...
Brought our teenage daughters-menu wasn’t teenager friendly so we opted for an assortment of appetizers. They were awesome! So fresh and flavorful. Staff was exceptional. Had a great family night. Great vibe!
We are never disappointed with Roy’s——-Great dinner
We always make a plan to go to Roy's when we're on Maui . It's our favorite. The food is delicious (albeit a bit pricey) and the service is always perfect.
Marc H, our server was the best we have had in sometime. Friendly, knows his stuff, attended to us just the right amount of time both frequence and staying at the table. Would like to have him serve us in every restaurant we visit.
Food well prepared and presented. Drinks a little light on booze but that's the way public venues are. We make them a bit stronger at home. The T-Gin Martini's were great. The etched glass with 'Roys' is now a part of my wife's Martini Glass collection. We have a single glass from many places from around the world and in the States. Our guests go to the cabinet and pick out the Martini Glass they like.
Went for breakfast before heading to the airport. The coffee blend they served was reinstall lack lustre. My husband had the pulled pork plate which was very good. My pancakes were anemic and served with artificial maple syrup. For almost 15 USD a plate, I was expecting much more.
Will not be returning. Very disappointing for the price.
The service and food was much better than I expected because we were in a tourist area. We have eaten in the Roy’s in Newport Beach, CA and it was noisy and we felt rushed. This was much nicer.
Also the view of the golf course was terrific.
I don’t mind paying a large bill for good food but this was not it. My well Steak was very rare and fatty. We had to ask for water refills as he skipped the mid section every time he went around filling water. Overall I was not impressed at all. Seen good reviews and wanted to try it, was bummed.
Service and food were top notch.
Great Hawaiian old school restaurant. Food was excellent, with exception of the seafood pot. The seafood was overcooked as it sat on the piping hot broth for 15 minutes. Drinks were awesome and wine prices were on point.
Had lunch while on vacation in Maui and food was good but our server could use a "personality adjustment" and overall this Roy's location isn't quite up to par when compared to other locations I have visited - the Roy's at the JW Marriott in Scottsdale, Arizona is a "10" while the Maui location is a "5" in my opinion.
We had an excellent time and will definitely come back
The appetizer selection looked so good that we decided to share several instead of getting entrees. It was a great decision. The spring rolls, poke duo and brussel sprouts and cauliflower were particularly memorable.
I love Roy's, and always have a tasty experience, no matter what I order. Wouldn't miss it.
Food was great, the service was excellent. Atmosphere and view were very good. Roy's has been added to our list of "go to" restaurants when visiting Maui.
Great service, great wine. Good food
Only bad review I’ve ever written. Horrible experience and I used to love Roy’s. My wife has celiac and they brought her a salad from the gf menu with croutons. No big deal. It happens. We sent it back and it came back one minute later with the croutons removed off the top but it was the same salad. More croutons were under the lettuce. Still made us pay for it. The rest of the food was bland and service was slow. Will not be back. And I used to pick hotels that were near a Roy’s. Won’t be doing that anymore.
Haven’t been to Roy’s since they moved to there new location. What a treat. Got there early had a great golf course view, the food was outstanding cocktails are great and you can’t pass up the chocolate soufflé 5 * Stars
The wait staff (Daniel) was excellent!! Bartender a bit surly but the food was phenomenal
Service was great.... food was good as well
We had a lovely time. Great table, food, staff
This was for breakfast in Maui,Much better food, value and service received than at dinner a couple of weeks ago
the lumpia appertizer was excellent, the fish dinner was even better, the birthday hat, streamer were blue and gold, UCLA, the dessert for celebrating my birthday was excellent. Great host, seat and service.
I didn’t know what to expect but the food went way over my expectations. We will be back for sure.
The entire experience was excellent
The butterfish was amazing!!!
We went here on a recommendation and Roy's certainly did not disappoint. This was my favorite meal of our entire vacation. Food was delicious and the staff were so attentive! Make sure to save room for dessert.
Fantastic! So many wonderful flavours in one meal. Don’t skip dessert!
Outstanding! Everything that one would expect plus that elusive little extra, that elevates the basically fine.
Continues to be dependable for a great meal. Menu offers great choices of seafood and Asian cousine. Shushi was creative.
Food and drinks were outstanding. The chocolate soufflé is the best I ever had
The food was incredible. The service was top notch. Ask for John (from Vegas). If you are a chocolate fan, you must have the molten lava cake.
Most excellent meal. We had three courses plus the chocolate dessert. All excellent.
The server and the bus person seemed so rushed to turn our table that some plates were taken from the table before we had even finished with them.
Delicious food, good service, and very friendly staff.
Food was not up to grade for a Roy’s
Drinks where not good at all and food I have cooked way better very sad , ask around most will say the same ,, price way to high for what you get ,, desserts where just ok ,, Japengos at the Hyatt way better
