Roy's - Kaanapali Ratings and Reviews
We ordered a beet salad that was all lettuce and two small squares of beet and one tiny piece of feta. I ordered the crab cakes and was told it was all king crab. There wasn’t any crab and was all bread and deep fried. Ordered the barbecued ribs, one piece on the top was meaty and the rest fatty. Very deceitful and expensive.
The food at Roy’s is always creative and beautifully presented. This time, however, my husband ordered the New York steak and had to send it back because it was chewy and difficult to cut. Switched to the filet and it was perfect. Otherwise the food has always been great.
We went for valentines lunch and just loved it. The view of the green was entertaining. The service was not 5 star but 10 star!!!!! We were treated like royalty!! The shared calamari was delicious, my fish and chips excellent, and my partners pulled pork sandwich outstanding. We both had sweet potatoe fries that were perfect.
This Roy's has continued to improve over the years. The food is creative, the prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent. At lunch, they have the kindest nicest person to bus tables that I have ever met-he literally loves his job and makes your day!
The meal was wonderful as always. I have dined at Roy’s when it was in Denver, in Poipu several times, at the restaurant when it was in Kahana twice, and here several times. Each time I have had a wonderful dining experience, anxiously anticipating my next visit. On Monday we went to the Eating House 1849 in Poipu. It was disappointing to say the least. The service was adequate but not attentive. The food was what I would consider chain-like, including my desert which was a lukewarm apple preparation. Just wanted you to know.
My sister in law and I were having a Girls Night Out and picked Roy’s. I had been to your previous location, many years ago and enjoyed my experience. We were very pleased with our appetizers, entrees and desserts. Prices are such that this would be a special occasion restaurant for us only, but I’m sure we will be back at some other time in the future. Our server Suzanne, couldn’t have been nicer!
Despite being a "chain" restaurant, Roy's has never failed to deliver amazing food and service - and our experience on Maui was no exception. The Blackened Ahi was just as much a "melt in your mouth" experience as the obligatory chocolate souffle. The only down tick on ambiance comes from the very open and bright dining space, giving a less intimate feel to romantic outings.
This was our first visit to Maui Roy’s. As always, we were impressed with the food—always fresh and delish. However, the ambiance leaves something to be desired. It is like a big cafeteria with bright lighting—small overhead lights. The place needs an interior and exterior make-over especially when commanding such high prices. When one spends that much money, the experience should be 5 star in every way.
Parking access at this restaurant is horrible due to the golf/golfers. The food was great & tasty but took way too long. Our server was nice and charming but slow. Had to ask 3 x to get a drink I ordered and got it after speaking to the Mgr. (They did comp me the drink which was nice) I will go back but only because I still have $ left on the Roy's gift card I was given for Christmas
