We were one of three tables in the entire restaurant and it took 45 minutes to get our food. My sister ordered her salmon medium well and it came al ost raw so she sent it back again and still couldn’t eat it, so they charged her for the lettuce.

Never had a restaurant do that before. We won’t go back

POKE!! I love a good Tuna Poke and theirs is very, very good. One of the things that makes it stand out from the 'poke trends' is the tuna is actually marinated in the soy/ponzu/shoyu sauce. It could stand to have a bit more of that sauce to spread around for the extra ingredients. Why so stingy with the sauce?
We dined on the fish trio of salmon, tuna and black cod. The tuna and black cod were simply wonderful. Cooked and seasoned so very well. The salmon was on the drier side ... more dry than not.
Crab Fried Rice was wonderful, could have used a bit more crab but the flavor mix was on point. Truffle fries were missing ... truffle.
Out very attentive server took care to get us a new plate, no problem.
The best thing about the experience was the service. Both with hostess seating and our server. Even the Valet was super pleasant and ready to please. We'll be going back soon!

We had a number of very positive experiences at Roy's in Pebble Beach/Spanish Bay when we lived in that area. However, our first and last visit to the Jacksonville Beach Roy's was an unmitigated disaster. It took 20 minutes to get our drink order, while the appetizers were good the main dishes were tepid. We had to chase down our wait person on two occasions. Our final effort to relax over dessert and coffee was also a failure. The coffee never arrived!

Went to Roy's for Dinner after reading about their Aloha hour. Did not realize it was in "bar only" but we moved to high top without any issue. Food quality is always solid and tried a few new things. Enjoyed the Sunset roll although did not realize it was deep fried. All apps were well portioned and reasonable in cost. Will definitely be back and nice to know they have this same Aloha hour later in the evening hours before closing as well.

We eat out a lot and found this place while visiting the area. I had the best NY strip steak I’ve had in years—better than some of the high end steakhouses I frequent. Partner had the lobster tail and shrimp plate and it was excellent too. I also had the lobster Mac and cheese and it was over the top. Our waiter was dead on with his recommendations and service. Go here!

Overpriced for what we got. Seared tuna was excellent, chicken was hard as cardboard. This was our first visit to Roy's. Did lunch with less than a dozen customers. Considering the small
crowd, the kitchen was slow. Wait staff was attentive but the overall experience was not
first class. Nothing special about this restaurant.

Waiter was terrible. Disappeared for long periods. Didn’t keep water full. Didn’t keep new drinks coming. Got the order completely wrong. Had to track him down to get the check. Then he forgot to come back and run the card. Food was ok.

The waitress service was good. The sloooow delivery of food was the kitchen. We never complained and they took off three desserts without us even saying anything. They knew it was slow and we appreciated the deduction. However, our thought was they should have made the dessert offer before we ordered it.
What if we never ordered dessert? Anyway, it was a long dinner.....well over two hours. Also, the ceaser salad was bland. Mac and cheese side order was really good!

My wife and I have dined at Roy's in Maui, San Francisco, Orlando and Jacksonville Beach, FL. We enjoy the Asian/Pacific offerings, the great service and to the top of the list the Chocolate Souffle. Our granddaughter often joins us and this dessert is a MUST every time. The service is always excellent and we never feel rushed. The noise level is a little high at times limiting conversation. We recommend Roy's to all who enjoy fine dining and excellent service.

Really disappointed in the service. Usually they are on top of drinks and overall service... but this night they were slow to take our order or offer new drinks throughout the meal. Kept having to ask for service.

After last nights Mother’s Day dinner I think I remembered why we stopped going to Roy’s. I cannot believe how small my piece of butterfish was! The rice was memorable but not in a good way. And at $39.00? Obscene! My husband ordered prime rib on the rarer side. It came mostly well done. My mother in law didn’t eat her Mahi Mahi fish making me wonder if it was to her liking. Oh well! Mother’s Day dinner will be around again in 364 days!

Terrible experience! Service was absolutely horrible. Hostess gave us menus to seat ourselves, waitress took 10minutes before coming to table. No apologies for delay was made. She didn’t provide recommendations or information on chefs specials- not what we’d expect from this tier of restaurant. We will never return.

To begin: we had great service from McKenzie. The rest, however, not in a hurry to repeat unless its just me and the hubs, grazing and drinking at the bar. They've made some interior changes since we last dined here and it's noisier than ever, even in the dining room. My Mother in law, who is 80 (it was dinner for Mother's day since we will be unavailable over weekend) has some hearing loss and it was not only a strain for her to hear/be heard but I was sitting right next to her and struggled at times. This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves in a restaurant period. Food was good but no longer particularly special. I would go back if it were just us two and we wanted to have some sushi rolls and drinks--at the bar.

Staff service is outstanding; always on top of things in managing guests' table service. Albeit extremely busy at times, especially on Saturday nights, our dining experience was exemplary. Food choices were excellent. The noise level may be elevated but it is energetic , fun and enjoyable. Definitely will come back.

While chewing her short rib, my wife discovered a large rubber band in her mouth full of food. The manager came to the table to address the problem and explained that the chef cooks the broccolini with rubber bands. Unfortunately, my wife had not yet tried the broccolini, which means the rubber band was in the short rib. The manager did remove her meal from the bill, but offered no further compensation for our negative experience. My wife could have choked and we of course did not enjoy the rest of the meal after her unexpected surprise ingredient. In our opinion a little more could have been done....maybe a complimentary drink, dessert or even the whole meal. After all, she could have choked to death. Eat at your own risk.
