We dined three nights in a row at Roy's!! Great place to be
Amazing food! Highly recommend!
2 hours to get our food
Food was great! Service was excellent!! I would highly recommend Roy's to anyone looking for a special dinner!
Excellent food and service. Great value compared to other high end venues.
Great meal with impeccable service. We
great food creative menu only downside was that the crowd was so large that the usual good service was compromised
Late night appetizers outside by the fire. Very good service and excellent food as always. Love this location!
We have been to this Roy's several times before and it never disappoints.
Our meals were outstanding
Celebrated our first wedding anniversary, we got married at the JW Marriott. Requested to sit outside, that got denied. Food and service was great as always.
Lovely setting outside. The live music is a nice touch. The service is good and polite. I had the lobster bisque and the tuna poke and my husband had the wedge salad and the shrimp tempura since neither of us was terribly hungry. Everything was okay. My soup was really good, but I’ve had better poke. My husband said his salad and tempura were good. I don’t think one goes for the food, but the ambiance is great!
Always a pleasure dinning at Roy’s. Good and personnel. Are the greatest and want you to have the best of everything
We highly recommend you dinning at Roy’s for an evening of pure pleasure.
Another great experience at Roy s
Excellent food! Good service. I had the tuna steak and it was superb. My coworker had the scallops and he couldn’t say enough good things about them. I always love Roy’s!
Food was good. Server (Melissa) was good. Service was extremely slow. Host stand employees very rude and not helpful in the least.
We loved the location inside the JW Marriott. The food was OK. My wife's dinner(fish) had to be sent back because it arrived cold with some fish undercooked. I ordered my dinner medium and it came well done.
We were here in a business conference and chose Roy’s because we had been to Roy’s in other parts of the country. The food is very good, the ambiance was good, and the service is excellent. It’s funny, excellent service makes everything better, and this was no exception. Very good food for the price also. I had the scallops and shrimp in a buttery sauce with mushroom risotto, which was great, and one of the other people had butterfish (cod), which is a house special and they loved it.
We were staying at the hotel and tried this place on our second night. Service was great. Everyone there was very nice and accommodating. We are light and all had their seemingly unique sushi rolls (I don't eat fish). I had an interesting wagyu beef roll which was great and my kids and husband enjoyed their rolls as well. Good meal and great service.
I was in Phoenix at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort for a business conference. Had dinner at the Roy's restaurant at the resort. Food was excellent. Service was slow at the start but improved later. The house chardonnay was very drinkable, and at $8 per glass a real bargain compared to the other offerings. Recommend you try Roy's when you come across one on your travels.
Quality if food was very good and the service was excellent.
Service was amazing, great knowledge of the menu made great recommendations, very very personable. Couldn’t have had a better experience.
I have always loved Roy’s and it’s always a big treat to get to dine there.
We have been fans for Roy Yamaguchi's restaurants for decades, starting with the long-standing store in Hawaii Kai and the Honolulu downtown store (now closed). We have dined at Roy's outlets in the islands and the mainland. We were surprised to find out that Roy had sold his mainland operations to a restaurant conglomerate so he could focus on farm-to-table in Hawaii. While the Desert Ridge shop had most of Roy's traditional menu items, the preparation and presentation definitely showed the hand of a cost-cutter. Wait staff were better than average. Wine selections and bar OK. Generally disappointing. We'll probably not be back.
Very good appetizers and entrees, but the best was the upside downside pineapple cake. Excellent.
We had a wonderful belated Valentine’s Day dinner. It was a very pleasant experience. Our server, Clifton, did a terrific job and allowed us to take our time and enjoy each step in the meal.
Meal was outstanding. Service is top notch.
60th birthday dinner for my wife. Outstanding dinning experience.
Overall very enjoyable evening. Fish portion was a little small, but that is the only complaint.
Worst Roy's expereice evre. Took more than 40 minutes for us to get our food. mine was cold and the risotto was undercooked. not going back
My wife and I went to Roy's as a date night out and we loved the Butterfish and the salmon. The Ahi tuna was good, but I didn't care for the mustard sauce with it. All in all, we would go back again.
Exceptional Restaurant! Great Service and fantastic food. One of our favorite restaurants.
Been here in the past for special occasions and wanted to celebrate a special evening with friends. My meal was not up to par with past visits and our server ,although she was attentive she kept interrupting our conversation with service related questions,A bit annoying .Everyone in our party enjoyed the meal although two of us were not happy with our entree and felt it was not as good as we had remembered on past visits.
Our server was amazing. It was our anniversary and they made sure it was a night to remember.
We tried this restaurant last year and had a truly awful experience with a nasty server, however, the food was good. We decided to try it again on Valentines Day while vacationing in Scottsdale this year. We made reservations for four with open table. We were contacted by the restaurant to confirm the day before. Because I have food allergies I always pick my food out from an online menu before visiting a restaurant with friends so I can easily order. We saw there was a Valentine Pre Fixe Menu, however, no where on the web site, on the reservation site or in the restaurant confirmation was it stated that this would be the only menu offered for thee evening . We had drinks at the bar and were seated at 8:00 and then notified this was the only menu. I informed the server that I could not eat most of the items on the pre fixe menu and asked for some reasonable changes based on their usual menu. I was told it was the pre fixe or nothing . It was too late to go elsewhere, especially on Valentines Day. I asked the server to see what the kitchen could do for me after having to explain my allergies in front of everybody. She returned from the kitchen and said they could do nothing. So on Valentines Day I sat eating nothing while my husband and our friends uncomfortably ate their meal, of which they had uneaten items that they did not want. The finale to the evening was the bill was completely itemized as a usual bill not a pre fixe. I have never had a restaurant refuse to attempt to accommodate me and in today’s awareness of allergies this is unacceptable. I will never set foot in a Roy’s restaurant again as I was embarrassed in front of friends and left hungry on what was suppose to be a fun and special evening.
Amazing butterfish and steak!!!! Valentine’s Day was so busy but service was quick and we were seated on time.
The filets were flat and dry
We have eaten at Roy’s in many locations and must say this was not the same experience. Service was not at their level nor the food or setting. It was fine but for the price it would not be one we would repeat.
We had a birthday dinner with family. It was our first time at. this Roy’s location. All was as expected, outstanding. We were familiar with the regular menu items. There were a number of special chef creations. We were not disappointed. Be sure to advise them of a birthday celebration to get a special desert.
Wonderful, accommodating, professional staff serving formula food.
