Roy's Desert Ridge Ratings and Reviews
Been here in the past for special occasions and wanted to celebrate a special evening with friends. My meal was not up to par with past visits and our server ,although she was attentive she kept interrupting our conversation with service related questions,A bit annoying .Everyone in our party enjoyed the meal although two of us were not happy with our entree and felt it was not as good as we had remembered on past visits.
We had a birthday dinner with family. It was our first time at. this Roy’s location. All was as expected, outstanding. We were familiar with the regular menu items. There were a number of special chef creations. We were not disappointed. Be sure to advise them of a birthday celebration to get a special desert.
I wanted to go someplace where we could have a cozy, relaxed but professional atmosphere, were the service was spot on and the food was interesting as well as delicious. I wanted to feel special because Sunday was our 24th anniversary. All this happed for us. Thanks Roy's Desert Ridge.
Horrible from start to finish! Host told us very busy? Sat us at horrible table switched to bar which was empty! Service none! bartender poured 1st glass of wine & we poured the rest? Bartender was more interested in doing his chores? Will never eat at the Roys again, not what Roys stand sfor??????
Feel like we,re in Hawaii without the 5 hour flight! Lush outdoor dining, live music on the weekends, great service and excellent food! My husband prefers beef and I love seafood, so we're both in heaven! Nice Aloha Hour, their Happy Hour! Pricey but quality everything!
My Wife ordered the mahi mahi which was great.. i ordered the ribeye it looked great but it was a bit under cooked and very fatty very disappointed. They took it off my bill. Also service was okay not outstanding. Just didnt get the impression our server was to attentive. The rest of the staff was very good the busboy even commented in the poor qulity of the steak. The patio dining was really great and overall a very nice dining experience on the patio.
Our service started off very slow, had to call the asst. server over to get our server just to get our first drink which took about 15 min to get our drink! After that it got better, we ordered a 3 course meal on a Thursday by mistake (Sunday and Monday only) but after asking about it had a Manager reduce the price for us. We told our server it was our first visit and didn't realize our mistake. Still never saw a Manager, probably won't go back.
Service was excellent. The wine that piqued my curiosity was never delivered but that was no problem. This family of four decided three on seafood and one beef filet. The daughter's mahi-mahi was excellent, lovely wife and I split the "classic four", of which half was superb to myself and the other half she liked, which leaves the son's filet. Even at a primarily seafood themed restaurant, one in the party should not have to sacrifice quality.
Roy's: The first table they showed us was in the back narrow section of the restaurant by the kitchen with a half wall separating us from the kitchen noise. We asked to be moved to the patio dining area which was very nice with heaters and live music at a distance that added just the right flare to make it special. We later moved from the dining patio to the patio where there was a local singer. She was really very good. Food prices were high. Our server, Kyle, was very professional.
We dined here with our family for NYE while staying at the JW Marriott. Very disappointed. First of all, they didn't even have NYE decorations or party favors, which I thought would have been nice. Secondly, it was FREEZING where we were sitting. The server tried to help with this, but it was so cold that it was uncomfortable for all of us. And worst of all, the Tomahawk steak for 2 that my husband and I ordered was so full of gristle and fat that we maybe each had 2 or 3 small bites of steak. For $130 steak, we expected more. The filets other family members ordered were very good, and the salmon was good. Nothing outstanding, but good. It was way overpriced for the quality and ambiance; especially for NYE.
First off, the Chocolate Souffle dessert is the best chocolate dessert I have ever had in my life. For sure worth making a trip to Roy's. Unfortunately, that was the only item worth going for. The 4 course NY Eve meal was a big disappointment except for that dessert. The pork bun appetizer was just OK; the ramen was way too salty and uninteresting, the osso bucco was overcooked, dry with an overly salty and concentrated sauce. Plus, the bone had no marrow to speak of. The chocolate souffle though...wow!
