View Private Dining DetailsPoor attention to service ..... we waited on our drinks every round. Food was excellent.
Just okay. Food okay, service okay. Not worth the time or money spent. Won’t be going back.
It was my fathers birthday
They were more of a master of none and that kind of hurt the experience. Drinks were good, food was mediocre, and price rivaled other valley spots that dish out some one of a kind dishes.
Very good food and service. Because of the price it is a place to go to for only special occasion.
We had a great time! My gf and I went for dinner but started and stayed at the bar! We happened to arrive during "Aloha Hour" and despite wanting a real dinner, we instead went with a few appetizers and a bunch of drinks! Our bartender Eric was engaging and accommodating. Ask him to make you his Chocolate Espresso Martini!
This no thinking for us, we can count on Roys to deliver. We enjoyed the manager stopping bu several times to make sure we are having great time. Roxann was her name. Our server was on top of service and checked the kitchen fill our special requests
They were patient with our children
Very nicely decorated with a "Hawaii-Lite" theme. Dined here on Easter Sunday, but not at all crowded at time we went. Service was a little spotty, but more than adequate. Prime rib was just OK, flavorful but a bit chewy. Short ribs are outstanding. A little pricey, but not ridiculous.
I had the filet mignonette, which was possibly the most tender steak i’ve Had anywhere. Very tasty as well!
Food was good, service okay. Incredibly expensive and over priced.
Here is the problem. We like the food. But the wait staff is uninspiring.
This was our third visit this year. And twice we ordered coffee and received it cold for dessert.
When we ordered hot coffee it took too long.
I don't what is wrong with the wait staff there. They aren't very attentive for a higher end
restaurant.
We went to Roy's in Waikiki and it was great with fantastic service.
I would suggest an overhaul and new assessement as to what makes good service.
Roy's had very slow service. It took us 20 minutes until we were seated from our reservation time. Getting water, ordering food and drinks, receiving food and drinks, and getting our table cleaned took a long time. A long time as in our meal was almost 3 hours long, and I only expected it to be 1.5 hour at most.
Another fail on service was the table sitting next to us finished dinner, and the table stayed dirty with dishes and used napkins on the table for an hour.
A highlight was the server offered us a free dessert, and the food was in general was good. I wouldn't recommend Roy's unless you had a lot of time to kill.
Good food and good choice. Busy and we had to wait even though we had a reservation.
Eric, our server, was excellent, as usual. Love his recommendations.
Sever was mia
Amazing food and beautiful setting for a fun date night! We love this place!
We had asked a friend that was familiar with the area where they would suggest we have dinner our first night in AZ... Roy’s was their first suggestion . The food and service was outstanding ! Our server, Kim, was the best we have ever experienced !
Food and service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive and friendly.
Awesome congratulations dinner for my sons promotion. The chef made accommodations for a slight alteration to combo and sides which was great. My son ordered the sea bass which was a great portion. My wife ordered the pistachio crusted mahi mahi and it was everyone’s favorite (we all tried each other’s). All very good and sorry we haven’t been sooner. Definitely will return!
One drink each and a nice dinner each with an appetizer for ~$200 ($240 with tip).
Highly recommended!
Always love Roy’s. Food and service always excellent.
The new menu seems uninspired and most dishes mirror similar ingredients.
Our server was wonderful. The food was delicious as usual as well.
From start to finish we were made to feel like VIPs. A happy birthday card at the table from the restaurant, a lovely surprise trio of sorbets with a candle for desert. Server was very knowledgeable and had great ideas. The cocktails were delicious and the sushi was fresh. The black cod was amazing as were the ribs. Portions were big. We couldn’t finish the food. The server had a great suggestion about a desert as it required extra time - pineapple upside down cake with coconut ice cream. It was fabulous. They were very accommodating for my allergies too. We will return.
We experienced splendid sushi options and terrific salad choices as we were looking for some light bites on our last night in the Phoenix area. Roy's was a perfect choice.
This was our second visit to the Chandler location (all other times was at the Honolulu location). The wait staff was excellent both times. Very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful giving preparation options. Food allergies wasn't a problem for either of our servers so I'm guessing that all of the staff has similar training.
The food was excellent and the specialty/house drinks were great as well.
While a bit on the expensive side of things, all in all it was well worth it. We'll be back on a regular basis, I think.
We dine here several times per year. The new Swordfish dish on the menu is fantastic. Server Bruce is very attentive and a very nice person.
Service was exceptional from entry to departure. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with menue choices.
Great dinning experience
Great food. Little pricey. But worth it.
Great food and service!
Our server, Anthony, was exceptional and offered several suggestions. We ordered from the chefs special evening menu and regular menu. Empanada appetizer followed by the Maui salad were tasty. I had the special swordfish duo which consisted of 2 decent portions of swordfish (1 prepared “Hong Kong” style with a light drizzle of sauce that provided a nice “non-lingering” kick. The second was simply grilled and tasted similar to the best filet I’ve ever had!) my friend had the pistachio crusted Mahi-mahi, which is always great.
We ended the evening with scrumptious pineapple upside down cake and coconut ice cream. When we exited the restaurant at 10:00pm, the weather was warm which made me reminisce about my first Roy’s experience in Maui.
The noise level was pretty subdued and the atmosphere was non-pretentiously upscale. I gave the noise level a higher rating due to the “gregarious” diners at the table across from us. Apparently they were just more vocal about their lovely dining experience than us!
Highly Recommend!
The server tried hard to make this a special occasion The food was served at the right temperature and was brought out in a timely fashion. Ambiance was delightful and the chairs comfortable. Love this place.
Food was good but the price for the value was not good. I can spend that money and get a whole slot better. A bit over priced
I am always underwhelmed when I go here. It should be excellent food for the price you pay but it’s always just ok. I don’t eat that much but we ordered an appetizer and I got the swordfish special and on the drive home I was starving. The portions are really small and my food was lukewarm. It was a little dry too. We go there when we have out of town customers because the service is great but I’ve never had a meal that wowed me.
Once again we had a great delayed Valentine celebration. My wife has food allergies and the attention to the issue from notes under our name to double checks by the servers make this a stress free meal every time. On top of that, the food is always perfectly prepared. My Filet was cooked exactly to medium rare and the lobster tail was incredibly moist and tender. The service is always spot on. We love this restaurant.
We had a 7 o'clock reservation. When we entered the restaurant, we Joined a group of at least 6 other couples that also had 7 o'clock reservations. After waiting 25 minutes in the lobby, we then waited another 15 minutes at our table for our server to arrive. No apologies, no free drink To say I'm sorry, nothing. The food was good, but Not good enough to make up for the lack of service. My wife and I like fine dining restaurants but will be spending our money at other establishments. This was our 1st time and we will not be coming back.
We made a reservation and choose Roy’s because of location to both couples a few hours before we arrived. However when we were promptly there, “our” table wasn’t ready, we understood but when 3 other tables of 4 and a table of 2 that were seated before us it started off bad. Things only went down hill from there as Water, drink order and drinks took forever.
Service was so slow that one member of our party returned to the bar and got a drink faster than waiting for over 10-15 minutes be he left to go get it.
Sushi was good as appetizer and waitress was friendly when she did come by but if you want a better steak or seafood I would suggest many other places for same price point. The Keg, Stockyards or spend almost the same and go to City Hall/Mastro‘s Steakhouse.
The staff was great with accommodating our large party of 11.
Our servers was squire awesome and the food was parallel.
Thank you Roy’s and staff!
The steak and lobster were cold.
Everything for dinner was great except for a little smudge. There was food smudge on the edge and corners of the dish that my wife had when the food was brought out.
