Roy's Chandler Ratings and Reviews
Birthday dinner for my girlfriend. It was awesome they had a happy birthday card on the table when we arrived, we were seated promptly. after a free birthday dessert they took a photo printed it and gave it to us. The chef was very accommodating with an allergy she has and the food was delicious.
We also made reservations for the wine tasting in August, we have done two with them before had a lot of fun and was educational
Our primary home is Portland, OR. But our favorite favorite restaurant is in Chandler, AZ. Service is outstanding! Asian fusion is amazing. Brought our sister and husband here for her 60th. Miso Butterfish was awesome, such amazing combination of flavors and the butterfish melts in your mouth. My sister loved the Ebi roll so much she ordered for her entree. The Sunday, Monday 3 course menu is a gourmet feast for only $39.99 a person. We will continue to take every guest here to show off the gourmet side of Chandler.
Went to Roy's on Mothers Day. Food was excellent and service was very good. The menu was limited for Mothers Day but there was a wide selection of dishes. Roy's does a great job on seafood with the Hawaiian touch. Pot stickers were excellent and the Hawaiian Blackened Ahi was outstanding.
Mothers Day celebration. On Saturday night -
I had the butter fish - usually it is really good but tasted VERY fishy this time- and it wasn't white it was a dark colored fish. It was swimming in a pool of way too hot green wasabi sauce- there should have been just a small spoonful of that on the dish it was overwhelming. The forbidden rice was extremely sugary and sweet have never tasted it like that before either not sure what happened but the integrity of the menu and the way those dishes are supposed to be created has changed.
I was disappointed. My husbands Halibut was excellent.
Wife ordered Roys Trio and it was great. I ordered the herb crusted rib eye and while the flavor was great the cut of meat was terrible and nothing like I've experienced at Roy's in the past. It was thin and overly fatty. We ordered the canoe appetizer before dinner and it was wonderful. When our main entree arrived we waited over 5 minutes for silverware for my wife, was surprised by that, waitress also never checked back in after the main course arrived. We've always had good experiences at Roy's and will go back, if this had been my first however I'd never go again. Hopefully this was a one off bad experience.
My overall experience was less than good. At first, they were "booked" and could not seat a party of one. However, I was able to make a rez on Open Table one minute later with my app? When greeted, another couple got seated BEFORE me altho they came AFTER I did. I felt like a 2nd class customer. The server did not mention any specials, I had to ask. She told me TWICE about being sure to get my desert order in- which I declined both times. I asked for salmon, which I got, and it was delicious. But, I later realized there were two salmon dishes on the menu - server never gave me an option. Water was filled after I finished my meal. Lastly, I asked for a to go box only to realize the containers are terrible and not made to hold liquid- thus my ponzu sauce (which makes the meal) was not included, or my leftover bokchoi. Overall rating: Hostess = Prejudicial Server = Inexperienced Food = Delicious
Fantastic! We always do special occasions at Roy's. The food is sensational and the service last night was the best we ever had - her name is Stacy. I had the Seafood Trio - My lobster, scallop, and prawns were cooked to perfection! My hubby had a 4 piece selection with Salmon, Butterfish, Ahi rare and Mai Mai - his was wonderful too! We will be back!
The waiter was very slow and had to be reminded we were waiting on condiments and our entrée on 2 different occasions. There were only four tables occupied in the restaurant, so it was not a matter of being busy. I had guess who were disappointed at the service also.
I have been to Roy's in CA, NV and now AZ. This time me and my mom has the Hawaiian Martini...in fact we had 2...when we left the restaurant I said I don't think there was any alcohol in that drink and she agreed...no flavor of alcohol and usually 1 martini and you can feel a little buzz...nothing.
We ordered one of each of the deserts on the menu and they were both burnt. What a disappointment. Usually the food and drinks are amazing. I probably won't ever go back. Their prices are high and the drinks should be strong and the food not burnt.
I have Celiac disease and a shellfish allergy. The chef and management take it serious and understand about cross contamination . The food and service was great ! Ask for the Quad for your dinner entree, it is a wonderful sample of 4 delicious specialty fish and individual sauces they serve off their menu . Thanks Chef for taking care of me and my dietary needs!
Easter Brunch was a culinary gem. Appetizer was a Thai seasoned Lobster Bisque. Four diners ordered four different brunch entrees : Mahi Mahi, Prime Rib, Butterfish, and Oven Roasted Chicken. Each diner declared that their entree was the best. Mimosas and a chocolate desert left us feeling that we chose the winning restaurant for our Easter Brunch.
