Roy's Chandler Ratings and Reviews
First visit to this location. We brought my wife's cousin here to let her experience a taste of Hawaii. My wife and I ordered the Hawaiian Martinis. They actually tasted better than at any other Roy's locations. We all started with the ceasar salad un-toasted. The salad was a nice start. My wife ordered the lobster tail and her cousin and I ordered the short ribs. The food was like I always remember from Roy's throughout the country.
This was our 3rd time at Roy's in Chandler. We had our dinner at the bar. Service was great ... 2 mail bartenders were very nice. Drinks and food arrived promptly. Food was good but we have always found it to be too salty for our preference. Other than all the food tasting too salty, we have a good time and an enjoyable experience.
We invited our close friends out to a nice dinner. We received the menu's only to have them taken away and given a small menu with limited entrees. How embarrassing! Any, I mentioned to the manager how noisy the place was and that they should have music played. He said the music was ON ALREADY! What a joke. The food was O.K., but not for the price we paid!t
This will be the only time we will visit ROY's in Chandler, aZ.
I have Celiac disease and a shellfish allergy. The chef and management take it serious and understand about cross contamination. Ask for the Quad for your dinner entree, it is a wonderful sample of 4 delicious specialty fish and individual sauces they serve off their menu . Thanks Chef for taking care of me and my dietary needs!
Roy's Chandler has recently changed their menu but the standards are still there, perhaps pared down a little bit. The key, with seafood, it having fresh (not old) ingredients and carefully handling them. Roy's still does this very well. It seems the by the glass wine list is smaller but still adequate for our needs.I also like the consistency, every visit has provided me with great food quality and the classic hawaiian martini.
Great service and food was outstanding. Had reservations for 6:45 made sure we were on time. They said 10 minute wait we went to the bar that was crowded had to stand. People at a table gave us two of there chairs to sit down very nice of them. After 30 minutes passed I went up front and was a little perturbed when I saw people being seated that came in after us. When I make an reservation I would expect to be seated within 10 minutes of that reservation not 40 minutes past your reservation time. They did give us appetizers as an apology, that was very nice and unexpected. The food and service as I said was exceptional all worth it. So next time I'll come 30 minutes late from my reservation and see what they will say.
First of all my wife and I come to Roy's for anniversaries, birthdays and an occasional dates. Roy's is on the top of our list for favorite restaurant. This occasion was for a birthday and we brought along some friends for there first experience at Roy's. They were impressed by the ambiance, wine list and food menu. However, our server seemed to be preoccupied and never was hitting on all cylinders. Spilled wine on my wife, behind on drinks and one drink was incorrect. Overall not the best experience we have had, however, it will not deter us from returning to Roy's in the future.
We have been regular's at many different Roy's restaurants and have been to the Chandler property a few times. We were very disappointed with this experience. The bar was enjoyable and the bartender very good. However it was downhill from there. Our waiter did not have much knowledge of the menu. We asked about birthday options and neither the server or hostess got back to us on our questions. Service was poor as we waited quite a while for our dinner. The Mahi was overcooked. We have higher expectations for Roy's and will not return to that location.
Service was excellent. When I arrived (I had a reserva, like we didn't have a reservation and kept looking at her computer screen. It was a bit concerning that we had to wait 5+ minutes to be seated with a reservation when the dinning room was basically empty. The host seems confused and kept looking at her computer screen! The food was overpriced as I had a Filet for $38.00 with 4 baby carrots and no side, and would not put this on par with a Ruth Chris or top notch steakhouse and could have had the same cut of steak at Carrabbas which is affiliated with the same parent company!!
Every time we go to the Chandler location we have problems with either the service or the food. This time my son ordered his steak medium and it came our rare. I have sent many friend to this location, and all have came back with complaints. We will now only dine at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge location.
The food was horrible, the texture of the fish was not the normal roys seafood. The server brought our edamame right before the food, I mentioned this and he responded that he doesn't have any control over what the chef has ready. The overall experience was not up to par.
We had Stacy as our server, 2nd time we've had her and she is excellent. We were greeted with a birthday card at the table for my brother in law and they had a special dessert for him, as well. Stacy also took a picture of our group, and made copies for each of us as a keepsake of the evening ... what a nice touch.
It goes without saying the food was excellent... never disappoints !
My family and myself had not been to Roy's in a while. It was my Mom's Birthday and I decided to make reservations here. Everything about our dining experience was fantastic. They gave my Mom a beautiful card and some petals from an orchid. The food was absolutely delicious. We ate too much because everything tasted so good. In addition our server, Eric was just the best. He met all of our expectations. He was personable, knowledgeable about the menu options and quick to refresh our drinks. He made our dinner for my Mom very special. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this restaurant.
This was our first bad experience with Roys...We have dined there on numerous occasions, but probably no again. We upgrade our entree ( from limited Groupon Menu ) to our favorite "Butterfish". We should have sent both meals back, but for some reason, we did not. Not only did the entrees both smell fishy, they tasted fishy as well. Still not sure why we didn't do just that, but we certainly will do so if there is ever a recurrence. Also, what happened to the edamame appetizer?
Wonderful dinner - we tried something different - a Groupon with the Pre fix meal. Sushi was wonderful so was the ribs as appetizers. Then I had butter fish and he had the Waugy hamburger with a fried egg on top. Dessert was flourless torte with fresh berries. Excellent meal for a great price. Our waiter was very attentive - Bruce. The food is always Terrific at Roy's
I really did enjoy the Alaskan Cod butterfish. I went out of my comfort zone and wasn't disappointed. Overall the entry was worth the cost; the calamari was over cooked as well as the chocolate souffle. The server asked us if we were ready to order when we were clearly still looking at the menu, I thought that was odd but nonetheless, we would definitely go back but skip the calamari and the souffle.
We had been to Roys many years ago in California. Since we now live in Arizona, once we heard there was a Roys, we had to go. The drinks were amazing, the food outstanding. It was our anniversary and the waiter took our picture and at the end of the meal, he brought the picture to our table. Nice touch. He also brought us a dessert. If you haven't been to Roys, you're missing a great meal and a great time.
