Enjoyed the Sunday grilled meatloaf special. Excellent. The signature butterfish was disappointing. Chef changed the recipe and added a soy flavoring. Not good! Ask for the "old" recipe which is much better.. Also, at $50.00 this was not a properly priced entre. $32-$36 would better reflect the value. Service was excellent. Best value is the Aloha happy Hour.

Food was absolutely fabulous! This was my 2nd time at this location and I am so impressed! I can honestly say it was perfect! Lisa was our server and she was very welcoming and friendly. The food far exceeded our expectations! We had the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and the shellfish platter and it was outstanding. We will most certainly be back!

Roy’s was crowded- but it was a Friday night! The restaurant was noisy so conversation was a little hard- but doable! The service was good- a little slow at first, but got better. Most everyone was happy with their food. Will return!

We were celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary! I noted that when making the reservation and we were given the Royal treatment! Lots of positive attention not only for our server, Payton who was very competent and pleasant, but also from a couple of the managers on duty. It was a beautiful southwest Florida evening so we sat outside which only added to the experience. We both had the butter fish- one of these visits we’ll try something different, but it’s just too good to pass up! Our server treated us to molten chocolate flourless cake which was too good to put into words. The plate was decorated including the number of the anniversary we were celebrating. Cant think of anything that could have been improved. We live this Roy’s restaurant.

My appetizer and salad came but by entree was never put in and after 1 1/2 hours I had to leave to go to the symphony… as a regular customer when I’m at my Florida residence it was very disappointing not to have the service meet to its historical standards. What I had was comped, but it doesn’t change the fact that I have amazing choices and could have had an exceptional meal elsewhere.

Our server was wonderful, she was a delight and so fun. The food was excellent; my husband had the filet and lobster tail: he said it was very good, only the lobster was a little overcooked but still very tasty. I had the George’s Bay scallops and black rice, it was divine, no complaints! We were there for our anniversary dinner and the staff made it a special event. Prices were inflation-reflected, it was very loud and incredibly crowded but the tables were spaced adequately and the atmosphere is fun. I highly recommend for a special night. The drinks are the best!

Delightful experience for our 40th anniversary. Staff was prompt, polite, and professional while still maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere. We had the Maui Wowee and wedge salads, both wonderful, and for our entrees the shellfish platter and four classics. We thoroughly enjoyed it all along with the souffle for dessert. The entire menu looked fabulous and we look forward to returning and sampling the rest.

Nice to visit on Wednesday evening to partake of the 50% off wine, not exceeding $90, helped to keep the total bill down. Butterfish was great, as ever, and my son had the TNT whitefish(mahi mahi) which he described as exquisite. Sometimes restaurants cook mahi mahi too much, but this was advertised by the waiter as cooked medium which kept it moist. Ate outside on a nice night so it was like dining outdoors in Key West, one of our favorite memories. I just wish the price was a little more restrained.

The restaurant is lovely. It was very crowed and very loud. Service was very good. Attentive, quick and accurate. Unfortunately we found the food just . We ordered the lobster potstickers which and the butterfish which were lacking in flavor. The Bok Choy was delicious.

We had made 7:15pm reservations at Roy’s this past Friday night. I checked the standard seating check off on the App. My wife & I arrived at the restaurant at 7:00pm. I checked in with the hostess who looked at us like we just walked off the moon. We were offered outside seating and we declined on this cool evening. We were told that they would see what they could do and directed us to the bar. The bar staff might have been over worked, but there is no reason a customer can’t be greeted with, “ Hi, we will be with you shortly” rather than be uncomfortably ignored for 5-minutes. When the hostess finally seated us they parked us in a darkened corner in an enclosed room off the main dining room that was hosting a wedding party of no less than 30-40 people. We enjoy a good time as much as anyone but it was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. I went back to the hostess stand and asked to be moved. If it wasn’t for Myrna the hostesses assistant we probably wouldn’t have been moved. She hustled to find us a table in the main dining room. Wonderful booth. Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of our troubles. Our orders were evidently overlooked as we waited 30-minutes between the appetizer, another 30-minutes for our salad and nearly an hour for our entree’. We should have gotten up and left. By the time we left it was 10:15pm and we were one of only a few tables remaining in the restaurant. I felt bad for our waitress as she had no answers and repeatedly apologized to us. It is really unfortunate as the food was very good. Interestingly we booked another restaurant today through our concierge rather than OpenTable and shared our story. The concierge apologized for our experience and said that is why she hasn’t recommended Roy’s in five years. What a disappointment.

Was a busy Friday night at the start of "Season" (Jan 6th). Our server was OK but not entirely knowledgable about items on the menu (i.e. "are your scallops frozen or flown in fresh?" could not be readily answered). We ordered apps and salads which came out in relatively decent time (also ordered meals at the same time knowing it was a busy Friday night and we'd want to get those in ASAP). Apps and salads were great. Drinks were great but we could tell a difference between the service bartender's drinks and the bartender's drinks (if you have been in the business you can catch the difference between the two). The dinners took 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive. Thankfully we had a decent babysitter who didn't mind staying later than planned and we were really enjoying the company of our friends. But it was quite a long wait (no fault of the server). I would go back to Roy's to sit at the bar and have apps (Sushi was fabulous) but I would skip the dinners, not worth it. Ordered Ahi with Bok Choy and Jasmine Rice. The Jasmine rice was mush-- worse than polenta-- reminded me of rice cereal that you would feed a baby, the book choy was a soggy, overcooked mess and the tuna had zero flavor. The portion of butterfish that our friend ordered was embarrassingly small and I felt horrible for him.

The chef couldn’t accommodate my food allergies even though they were made aware when the reservation was booked. They suggested green salad no dressing and fillet mignon. The steak took almost an hour after appetizer and was so over cooked it wasn’t edible. I canceled the order and went home to make a sandwich.
