Very good food, outrageous prices with skimpy servings.
It felt safe we haven’t been out to dinner in months and we felt perfectly safe Service and food were above and beyond excellent
Both the service and food were awesome, as usual at any Roy's. We had a great experience and look forward to going back.
Great happy hour. Later dined outside. Beautiful evening. They had meatloaf on the menu which I love. Delicious generous portions. Great service.
Once again, Alex and his food prep crew was outstanding. From the moment, we walked in the whole evening was enjoyable. Thanks again Roy's for a great night
Sunday lunch at Roy’s is a delight. Excellent food and excellent service. The menu is a nice blend of Roy’s favorites and some brunch/lunch specific items. Always a solid choice.
Food was good, not as good as I remembered from prior visits in Hawaii locations. Lava cake is still the bomb!
We were seated outside which was fine but no space heater and it was cold. Our waiter tried to get one moved but wasn’t able to do so.
Excellent food and service - really enjoyed 2 different chef specials - the scallops and the pork chop.
Food and service is excellent, a bit pricey though
easy to make a reservation, table ready early, immediately waited on, waiter was helpful, great sense of humor, attentive and over all did a great job. food was very good.
We have not been back to Roy's in awhile and the one thing I always remember is their Butterfish. Well it did not disappoint - wonderful! My favorite dish by far.
Yes, Roy's is pricey, however if you enjoy fine dining then you will enjoy this restaurant.
Normally this is one of our favorites. Was so disappointed on NYE. Started when the Hostess refused to acknowledge us (thinking we were with the gentleman that checked in before us). Stood there staring at her for 2-3 minutes as she started at her computer. When she finally realized we were a different party there was no apology or even acknowledgment of her mistake. Menu was a set special NYE menu, I was not told that when I booked the reservation. We love their sushi and it was not available on NYE. Had to ask for water refills 3 times. Expected a lot better experience when paying $400 for dinner. Not sure if we will be back. So many other amazing restaurants in this area.
All very good except we ordered the lobster trio and were surprised they would not let us substitute the steak for either a couple scallops or A small piece of fish as we don’t eat steak anymore
Word of warning. If you like your steaks medium, order them medium well. The medium was red and bloody in the center. Had to be sent back twice to get it right. The menu was a price fixe menu that included app, starter, entree and dessert. My pork chop was delicious. Done perfectly and juicy and tender. For the $70 price there was no starch and just a few under cooked veggies. The bread pudding dessert was good, but could have used more sauce as it was somewhat dry. Service by Luke was excellent and our table of 8 was set apart from others outside. Felt very safe.
The service was horrible! We had a reservation for 6:15pm and we did not leave the premises until 9 pm only due to the service! We could not get waited on and it was not only our table. It was VERY disorganized and the waitress that we had was not attentive at all! We had to always ask where our food was, could she bring our check, etc., It was such bad service that I doubt we will EVER go back!
We waited for over an hour from time we ordered our dinner until we received it with no compensation for the delay.
We arrived to find that our table wasn’t outside as planned. The hostess said they’d have one in 10 minutes. We tried to grab a drink but sat at the bar for nearly 10 min before anyone even acknowledged us. Then the hostess gave away our table outside. They told us they’d give us a nice booth inside but that also didn’t happen. We were seated In a very sterile overflow room with zero atmosphere, no music etc. The most disappointing part was that, although promised by the hostess, nobody so much as acknowledged or wished my husband as a happy birthday. That was the whole point of our dinner out. My short ribs were overdone and the butter dish had a very strange taste. The mahi mahi was delicious. Overall a very disappointing evening that had a hefty price tag. I don’t think we will be back.
We had the Monday night special. For $49 per person you had a choice if an appetizer, any main full size entree and dessert. Everything was very tasty. Good distancing of Customers with the expansion of the bar area and outside table seating. Great service!
Proper spacing for social distance. We were seated outside, as requested, and the evening was lovely. There were heaters outside as well. The food was delicious, as always.
Food was excellent but I indicated a birthday celebration with my reservation and the birthday was not acknowledged by any of the 3 servers who took care of us. Disappointing.
Food was excellant if a little pricey. Service was slow to start, then got excellant.
We were here for Christmas Day dinner and left extremely dissatisfied. The food was undercooked and very sparse. The service was very SLOW and most staff was not attentive at all. Overall, the price for the mediocre food is way overpriced. We were VERY disappointed.
We went on Christmas for the prix fixe dinner. Upon arriving, we were "greeted" by a less-than-friendly hostess who told us it would be a few minutes. We were about five minutes late. We watched as several other guests who arrived after us were sat before us, without any communication from the hostess. We were then told they were waiting on some folks to leave before seating us.
After about ten minutes, we were seated. Our server was quick to greet us and we ordered some drinks. After we received our drinks, the experience went downhill. Our food took forever, so we ended up ordering more drinks before our appetizers arrived.
Overall, the food was fine but our food took a very long time (all three courses). The filet was overcooked but we - admittedly - did not tell our server. She came to ask how our food was when we were halfway done eating; it would have been a futile effort to convey then that the steak was well done rather than medium.
Our server was not that communicative nor apologetic. After our main course, our server informed us that one of the dessert selections was no longer available. She basically said, "Well, we're all having the Chocolate Torte. The bread pudding sold out." As you can imagine, this was disappointing as we had placed the order for one bread pudding hours before.
A "manager" then came around and asked us how everything was. We reiterated to him that the filet was overcooked (well done, not medium), the food took forever and one of our desserts was no longer available. He could not have been less interested in our feedback. He quipped, "Well, it's a special menu, so we only make a certain amount of desserts." He then walked away, with no apology or accommodation for the inconvenience. We reiterated this to our server, who said she would covey this. The meal was supposed to be a special Christmas dinner with family and the price point is not inexpensive. To say we were disappointed and won't be coming back is an understatement.
Christmas dinner was lovely. Our waiter, Chase, was terrific. Highly recommend Roy’s for a special dining experience.
We enjoyed an amazing Christmas dinner at Roy’s. From the appetizer to the entree to the desert, the food was excellent! Service was also top notch as well. The server Kiara we had was phenomenal and provided us quality service and attention. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality meal with quality service.
The food was excellently prepared. Our server, Jamal, was a pleasure to deal with and service was prompt. We'll do another holiday dinner at Roys Bonita.
Christmas!! Roy’s patio was the perfect sunny spot to celebrate with friends. The servers doted on us, the dishes were perfect. I only wish one of us had ordered the short ribs. They’re always divine.
Everything was excellent, food, service . No waiting. We will definitely return.
Food was excellent. The 4 of us were
Happy with the experience.
Delightful as always!
When we arrived they wanted to seat us in a corner by ourselves--no one else was in the room so we asked to sit at another table. The hostess said she could not since they were short on help. we went to a high top in the bar and waited 20 min and no waiter so we moved to the bar and from there on the service was great
Lobster was not as good as it was the other time we were there
Attentive waiter, quiet night. The lobster dishes were pretty small but tasty.
We have enjoyed dining at Roy’s for over a decade, with friends and at Aloha hour. Our most recent visit was above and beyond. First, the outdoor seating area was perfect for social distancing and for accommodating our 2 year old granddaughter. Servers all had masks and were very attentive despite the distance from the kitchen. Second, Luke, our server, while taking our drink order brought our granddaughter her own plate of appetizers: 2 triangles of cheese quesadilla, celery, carrots, dip and apple slices. Set the perfect tone for a relaxing dinner. Food was great as always. Pot stickers, ahi tuna roll, wagyu sliders and fries and ribs to start. Lobster specials including bisque, seafood medley and more sliders. Granddaughter had the kids fish sticks followed by her own sundae. Of course key lime and chocolate soufflé with the lobster special. A good time was had by all.
Excellent food and service - so appreciate the outdoor seating.
I just wrote to customer service. We had a terrible experience. We had reservations for my birthday Saturday night at 6:30. I made sure to request an outdoor table. When we arrived I requested a table by the heater and she said I didn’t write the heater part in my open table reservation. As it was our first time at Roy’s I had no idea I had to request it. The people working there weren’t nice, and they tried to lead us to a table with fluorescent lights, white table cloth and no charm whatsoever. We left and I’ve never been so disappointed in my life. We ended up going to Deromas and had a lovely dinner. I don’t think I’ll be back at Roy’s for a while.
Service was mediocre. Value for food is overpriced. Overcooked broccolini, filet minion was warm. Ambiance was awful. It was a very underwhelming experience. Ruth Chris is well better! I do not work for them. I would never go back. $150 for two meals, one app and 2 glasses of wine. Tipped $30 for $180 total.
Wonderful evening with friends! Beautiful corner round table (witch I requested). Ray was a great server! Thanks for a great evening!
Excellent food and service. Luke is an exceptional waiter.
