Roy's Anaheim Ratings and Reviews
Tim and his staff, particularly Christina and Jason, deserve a 10 on a scale of 1-5. They went above and beyond for my family. The attention to detail was off the charts as they had a name card on our table and put our names on desert plates to celebrate our birthdays. The food and service here is the best!!!!!!
The food is always fantastic here, the staff is friendly and the service is outstanding most of the time. This particular visit I only marked very good instead of outstanding as our waiter did not follow-up with us as much as they had on all our previous visits.
Was delighted to be able to eat at Roy's while in the Anaheim area. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic and Melissa was a wonderful server that made our evening very memorable. Always love eating at Roy's when there is one where we travel. Great treat!
I’ve given this restaurant chain many chances to turn their service around, but they have consistently failed to deliver! Food is not consistent in flavor from location to location and service is extremely slow. I’ve hosted events at this exact restaurant, the most important one being my wedding rehearsal dinner, and they have continued to show extremely disappointing levels of service .
Our waitress only checked on us twice the entire 2.5 hours we dined in. There was at least 4 different employees (none of them our waitress) who brought our entrees and/or checked on us and cleared dirty plates. The food for my son was not hot when it came out AND I had to ask the wait staff to 1) pack my dinner to go and 2) bring my check. When the waitress finally decided to show up, it took an additional 15-20 minutes for her to run my credit card and close out my bill. For anyone with a young child who just sat for 2.5 hours to have dinner, this feels like an eternity but there was no sense of urgency at all.
Overall, the tomahawk steak was mediocre and the service was delayed and disappointing. I am not a fan of poor service and will not be recommending to friends or family.
Aloha hour in the bar is the way to go! Ask for the seared ahi appitzer portion - same as the dinner but appetizer portion and it's awesome! Great, clean and fresh! I go every time I'm in Anaheim ... sometimes twice! Food, service better than other Roys I've been to. Only draw back: no edamame here.
We were there celebrating a special occasion and ordered the special tomahawk steak, we asked for it to be cooked medium but it came out rare. They took it back and re cooked the same steak but brought it back well done. Definitely a disappointing experience as we were celebrating our anniversary and had to go to a fast go
Went on a double date after Disneyland. It was actually near our hotel and a we were looking for a fancy restaurant to dine at. This is a perfect place place to go to. Unfortunately when I dined, their chef did experience some delays but we were offered complimentary appetizers while we waited for our meals. One of the best services I’ve experienced.
We spent almost 3 hours at a Roy’s due to poor service. First of all the waiters tone changed when we said 1/2 of our party would be using a Groupon. Then it took a while for our order to be taken. The time frame in between courses was unacceptably too long. After appetizers & 30 min later the waiter was asked what was taking so long. He had the odacity to say making good food takes time! Then he followed up yours is the second ticket up & with no apology. Thank goodness we weren’t in a rush, but by the time our main courses came out we were all hangry!
The manager ( I think) came out & she was also told the entire meal was unacceptably slow. She apologized, but half heartedly at that. We were offered nothing for our extreme dissatisfaction. Something should have been comped. Will never come back again. Roy Yamaguchi would be appalled
Service was outstanding! My server was knowledgeable, polite, and energetic. Unfortunately, my dish was extremely salty and had to be comped. The server warned me it has been known to be salty, and I typically don't mind salt, but this was beyond a tolerable level after a few bites. He notified the manager who came over and tried to do anything she could to make up for it. Again, the service was magnificent and all of this was done without me having to ask, which says a lot about how attentive the customer service is. The portions are on par for the price so no complaints on that end.
As always the food at Roy's was fantastic. Absolutely love the Asian fusion with creative sushi rolls, salads, entrees and desserts. Even though the Asian dishes and seafood are all fantastic, I always go for their ribeye steak. It is my absolute favorite! We always argue about the best dessert which most people lean towards the chocolate soufflé, but the pineapple upside down cake is the bomb!
This particular restaurant always has great service and is very accommodating to various requests. We originally made a reservation for 6 people and ended up with 9. They didn't blink and eye and made room for all of us even though it was a busy night. Greatly appreciated it!
Wow! We love Roy’s. We come here often because of the amazing service. Our waiter Jenner was awesome! Lots of suggestions on drinks and dish to try. You can go wrong with anything on the menu. The Butterfish is one of my favorites, as well at the short ribs. Best drink is the Hawaiian Martini. Always have the desert, pineapple upside down cake. Your welcome!!
We come to California twice a year and always hit up Roy’s - once in Anaheim, and once in San Diego on the Marina. It’s a tradition. This year, we were really disappointed at the Roy’s Anaheim. We were a party of five, and yes, it was a crowded night, but it always is when we come to Roy’s for our yearly convention reunion meal. This time they had a lot of trouble getting the food out on time. The server had to come apologize several times. We knew it wasn’t his fault. I ordered the tasting menu, figuring since it was a set course they should have no trouble with it. The first app was good. The second, a lobster spring roll, was terrible. The roll was falling apart and there was maybe one tiny piece of lobster in a mess of noodles and soggy rice paper. A friend ordered the lobster bisque and had to send it back for tasting off. The entree was a steamed pesto whitefish. The fish was over cooked and rubbery and tasteless. The best thing on the dish was the rice with furikake. I was incredibly disappointed and will not come back next year.
Everyone we interacted with was very friendly. The food all tasted great, but unfortunately something made my fiance sick and even managed to give me a slight upset stomach (if something bothers me in the slightest, it's pretty much guaranteed to ruin a normal person's digestive system).
Thank you Traci for providing such excellent service. Everything was wonderful. Your thoughtfulness is always appreciated. We enjoyed meeting Tim Lowenberg, a Managing Partner at Roy's Anaheim. Such lovely people here! My husband and I had a great time and will be back.
