The lobster was overcooked. Half the food was served cold to the table. No apology from the Manager or a visit to the table. The server was pleasant but placated the situation. Roys is a fabulous restaurant in Newport and Maui but I would not recommend the Anaheim location due to the food quality and slow service.
Great food, incredible service. Nice restaurant but a little loud. Definitely would go back again.
Was seated on a Club seating fit for a 2 adult & 2 kids, too crowded for a full size adult like my party. Have to asked the manager to be moved. Our server agreed that we are too crowded on our seats but he didnt took an initiative to asked us.
Made a reservation ahead of time at 12:30pm but was not seated until almost 1pm. And took them forever to take our order. It was a 3 hour of lunch saga with most of the time wasted on waiting.
Food was served quite slow because of Mother’s Day. Service was excellent. Food was great.
He kitchen was a train wreck that the front of house couldn’t save. Mother’s Day is an event Roy’s should attempt again Two hours to burn my families food is shocking for a brand like this and should be an embarrassment for the owner and management.
A dinner shouldn’t take two to three hours to complete - it took at least a good hour for the food to come out. It was also too noisy and crowded. Very disappointed because I heard many good things about Roy’s.
We were staying close to Disney as we were celebrating Mothers Day (weekend). In the past, we have gone to Morton's but saw that Roy's opened up and we have dined in Hawaii and Huntington Beach locations in the past. This location is NOT up to the same standards. Our experience in Huntington Beach was exceptional; great food, professional friendly servers, really first class. This is, in my opinion, is a 'want to be Roys'. They charge Roy's pricing but deliver more of a "Chili's" experience. The dining room was cold, very busy with lots of people but hard to get service when you needed it. Food was delivered cold (the sauce on my scallops was congealed!); the taste was good but when paying these prices you expect your food hot. The manager did come over and listened to us and gave us $30 off - a nice gesture but even after the discount, we spent $160 for a poor experience (2 Adults and 1 child). My wife, for mothers day, wanted to have a nice dessert but because of our experience just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Bummed because we couldn't get in anywhere else for dessert. The evening was a huge disappointment and I'm going to make it up to my wife by taking her to a NICE dinner!
We've been going to Roy's for years. They always come through with great food and service. You feel they really care about what they serve and how they treat their customers.
My husband had taken our oldest daughter here a few months ago and completely enjoyed their experience, raving about both the food and the personable staff. He took our youngest daughter and myself tonight, and unfortunately, had quite the different dining experience. Textures on our chicken and steak were perfect, but flavor was quite lacking. The lobster was disappointingly undercooked. My pineapple upside down cake was almost burnt on the bottom but quite tasty otherwise. My daughter’s chocolate soufflé was amazing. All that being said, the wait staff was awesome - very attentive though unobtrusive and helpful with a smile. Maybe tonight was just an off night as far as spicing goes. Willing to give it another try but not any time soon. For the three of us, bill was just under $400.
We were in the mood for some seafood, and we had a great coupon for $30 off $100, so we booked a table. It was great to see that we could also receive 1000 pts on OT. Wait was about 10 minutes even though we had a reservation. Jason was our server and he did a great job of taking care of us. He suggested the appetizer platter for two and although we weren't planning to have appetizer we took his suggestion. Everything on it was fresh and flavorful. There were 2 pieces of 4 different items and all were delicious! My husband had the lobster bisque, which we both found to be a bit heavy on the sherry but still very tasty.
I had the Shellfish assortment and received a lobster tail, 4 shrimp and 1 scallop. I think someone must have eaten one of the scallops before they got to me, but with them being so tasty, I can hardly blame them. The risotto on the plate was fabulous and the asparagus was just perfect.
Husband had Short Ribs, odd in a seafood restaurant but whatever. He proclaimed the entree quite good.
Everything was not only delicious but also plentiful. We took some home.
We will definitely return even with coupons and extra points. It's that good.
If you want FRESH, Roy's is the place to go! The best service in town, with a SMILE.
It was our one year anniversary and we figured we should give this place a try. We loved the decorations and the atmosphere of the place. Very quiet and great service. We recommend coming here for any occasion.
Always great food !!! Very friendly staff. We celebrated a birthday and the staff all wished a "Happy Birthday" to the birthday boy as they walked passed by our table.
Love this restaurant. My 3rd time going. The food is so delicious and the drinks are great. The only thing about the Anaheim location is that children are everywhere since Disneyland is next door...but expect for that I give it a four star!
Thank you to Traci T. for providing excellent service. We always enjoy our time at Roys' Anaheim, and she's one of the reasons why. We also appreciate the kind greeting we receive when we first walk in - and the manager who greeted us seated us in a great booth. Francisco also made sure our water glasses were regularly filled - thank you.
My husband and I enjoyed the chicken spring rolls and caterpillar sushi rolls. I also enjoyed the poke bowl. We both thought the stuffed chicken breast was scrumptious - the meat was so tender. Yummy! The coconut black rice was also delicious. We're looking forward to returning.
Birthday dinner. Very nice setting.
We've been here twice, the first time was amazing. I would give five out of five stars all the way through if it wasn't for the second time. We will try it again because it was so amazing the first time we went, we were shocked on the food quality and service the second time.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Roy's as something of a tradition for us. This was our 41st. The staff were so welcoming and had a card on our table to celebrate our anniversary. The chef surprised us with a small appetizer for us and later with a small dessert to celebrate our anniversary. My wife ordered the jumbo tiger prawns and I ordered the misoyaki "butterfish". Both were cooked to perfection and the presentation was excellent. All the staff were warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. The manager stopped by twice to wish us a happy anniversary and to see that we were pleased with the food and service. The restaurant was quiet enough for us to talk without raising our voices and calm enough for us to feel relaxed throughout our dining experience. We highly recommend Roy's for any special occasion or a special night out.
Dinner was delicious! Enjoyed dinner! Great atmosphere.
During my stay at Anaheim, I have a craving for fish. Roy’s Anaheim pop up on my search. I decided to cancel my reservation at a French restaurant near Laguna and go to Roy’s.
I was attended by Q, who is friendly and helpful. He highly recommended the Misoyaki butterfish served with Bak Choy.
The other option was Roy’s Trio : Hibachi grilled Atlantic Salmon, Blackened island Ahi and the Misoyaki Butterfish. I decided to go for the trio. The texture of butterfish tasted amazing. I’m not a big fan of salmon but loved this dish. Lobster bisque is a generous portion of succulent lobster with Thai influence.
Do drop by at Roy’s when you are visiting Disneyland or Anaheim
Too noisy, a lot of children . It is not recommended for a date place. Food is fair, nothing spectacular . Will not come back
My girlfriend and I dined at Roy’s Waikiki twice during our vacation at Honolulu and it was a superb experience! Fast service and good food. When we dined here at Roy’s Anaheim, we were completely disappointed on how slow their service is and the food is like a whatever. It would be unfair to compare their cooking to Roy’s waikiki.
Very good food at very expensive prices. $16 Lemon Drop Martini?
Odd that a restaurant with these prices does not offer, as a matter of policy, a bread basket.
Came here for my 10 year old son's bday, they have a solid kids nenu, so he enjoyed it. They printed out a card to acknowledge his bday as well so very thoughtful. I had the surf and turf, good filet, not great but lobster was excellent. My wife had a coconut sushi role and other sushi, very good. My son has chicken fingers and received a birthday sundae. All in all, really solid meal.
Thank you, Traci T., for providing such excellent service! You're the best! We always like coming back here because of you.
Our go to and favorite place when we are in Anaheim. Excellent food and service as always.
Great food and very clean. Waiter blew us off one we said we just wanted water and no wine/drinks. Service was not that great.
It was fantastic as always they are the best.
Beyond the very long wait at the front door, (why make your customers wait so long at the front door, when you have so many empty tables?) Hostess did not care that we had a reservation.
Table service was OK, no refills on water and non alcoholic beverages?
Food was delicious.
Hawaiian Fusion food is something to experience at Roy's - they get it right!
1st time here. I brought my wife here for our 3rd Anniversary. I was debating on Roy's and a couple other places. I am very glad I came to Roy's. We were treated so good. Our server Traci was wonderful. Everyone made our night very memorable. I just had to talk to the manager and congratulate him on his staff , the food and just the over all experience. The food was delicious. I will definitely come here again and not just for a special occasion but just to come and eat the great food.
I enjoyed the short rib and chicken spring rolls - delicious. My husband enjoyed the caterpillar rolls. Most importantly, we had great service from Traci T.. Thank you for making our experience a great one!
Normally we have fantastic dinners here. on our last visit we chose the pirce fixe and were truly disappointed. the server suggested the ahi and it was terrible. which is saying something as Roy's food is usually off the charts. I think we just learned our lesson about price fixe
The pineapple upsidedown cake was burned. ) :
Not a great experience this time, will think twice before we return to this location.
The server wasn't super friendly and we waited and waited for our check. The ahi actually made my husband sick - SO much wasbi, it was almost too hot to eat. so sad, so expensive and so disappointing this time. Next time I'll order my usual - misoyaki butterfish to make sure we're not disappointed. The appetizer ribs were very good though.
Poor hostess staff. First impression terrible and continued through seating. Food was lukewarm. Won’t go again since there are numerous adjacent alternatives.
Taking grandson to Disneylany
Food was not very good. Loaded with butter and spices. Tuna was over cooked. They had to remake.
