Great food, waiter took time to explain the options. I got the ribs and they were delicious, will definitely visit again.
Butterfish. Enough said.
We arrived for a 5:30 reservation and there were many open tables. Had we known about the happy hour we may have been content to sit in the bar and take advantage of the happy hour prices. Service was good. Food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait.
The food was just not up to the standards for what they charge. If you are going to spend this kind of money go to Steakhouse 55 or Morton’s.
This is our third visit in the past two years. The first time was December 2016, food and service were excellent. The next two visits food and service slipped, this last time the value was very poor. There must have been a change in head chef, the flavor and presentation have slipped, disappointing!! We won’t be back...
The food is delicious but save room for dessert 😁
Pricey but delicious. The best meal we had in Anaheim. Very accommodating for children but still fancy as well. Highly recommend!
It's always a pleasure to dine at Roy's. I look forward to it.
My husband and I always enjoy our time at Roy's Anaheim. The atmosphere is relaxing, even if it is a crowded night. The food is delicious - I devoured the sashimi poke, the chicken spring rolls, and the tender, delectable butterfish entree. Traci T. is magnificent at making sure our dining and beverage needs are well-met. She's one of the reasons we return to Roy's Anaheim as frequently as we can. She works so incredibly hard, and she is so friendly and wonderful with us. Everyone here works very hard. We appreciate our dining experiences at Roy's Anaheim.
Celebrating a birthday. Sheila is a fantastic, personable server. Portions have gotten ridiculously small, including the “ signature “ desserts. Don’t think I’ll frequent any longer.
Food was good and drinks great. Little over priced but what isn’t in California? Service was exceptional. Definitely recommend the short ribs and butterfish. Both were fabulous!
Our server Barbi was attentive and personable. We usually find your menus creative and interesting. We’ve certainly never had a mediocre meal at Roy’s - and always an excellent value.
Came on valentine's day with my wife. Arrived early with an 8:45pm reservation and was seated promptly at 8:40pm. Food menu was limited to the valentines day 4 course special. A few minutes after we placed our order, the waitress came and alerted us that the kitchen was backed up and food might take a little longer than usual. Waited about 45 minutes before the first course came out. Spicy tuna roll was nice and crunchy. Flavor was decent. Chicken Spring rolls lacked chicken, and was more like an egg roll. Waited about another 30 minutes for the second course. Cesar salad was deconstructed, meaning the lettuce wasn't cut, but the taste was fine (typical cesar salad). The lobster bisque had a kick to it, and honestly tasted like thai curry with decent size chunks of real lobster. Had to wait another 30 minutes for the 3rd and main course and started eating around 10:35pm. Wife got the filet and lobster. The filet was a little dry, but cooked to the desired medium rare. Lobster was cooked well and very good. I got the new york strip but I wasn't impressed. The lobster mac n cheese however, was very good.
It was too late into the night to enjoy our 4th course (dessert) so we took it to go.
Our overall experience was very unpleasant. Although the waitress was very nice and kept stopping by and saying sorry for the wait, it seemed like nothing was done to ensure they cared for their customers. We looked around and others who were seated around the same time looked frustrated as they waited. We were at the Roys for over 2 hours. Their parking validation only covers 1 hour. I thought it would have been nice if they at least offered to cover for our drinks or compensate for the additional 1 hour I had to pay for parking, but we got nothing.
I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but this was our first and probably the last time we would ever visit this restaurant.
My only recommendation for this place: Stay away during special/busy days (Valentine's day)
The Valentine 4 course meal kind off sucked! I ordered the Lobster and Filet mignon, (includes soup, appetizers and dessert). Took so long for each course food to come, the filet mignon was dry and boring presentation, lobster is so-so. The mango mojito cocktail is okay. Didn’t bother to eat the dessert there as we were sitting down for 2 1/2 hrs already, opted to take it home so I don’t know if its a good dessert. My back was so sore from sitting too long in there. Roy’s let me down this time. I used to love this place
We’ve been there many times but this time was very disappointing because Miso soup was very salty. Three of us ordered but couldn’t eat because it was so salty. And main entree is our favorite misoyaki butterfish but sauce they used was different than before and price was up almost twice. It sure wasn’t worth going for sure. We are thinking of not going there anymore. Appetizer and dessert was good.
Great experience. Great food and our server team was exceptional.
A great service and food, they made our special occasion memorable :)
Excellent dinner! It was delicious! Good to the absolute last bite!
Excellent price-fixed menu deals! One of our favorites, we'll be back!
Would be better nice to have listened to Hawaiian music during our meal.
Great service. Nice seating. We will be back.
Great food, service, and atmosphere.
I love this restaurant. I have been here several times and they are always consistent with food and service. The meal was delicious, but above all our server was excellent. The staff there is really on top of it.
The food took over 2 hours to arrive and when it did the steaks were very undercooked and the food was cold.
The service was excellent and the food was great. We were seated quickly even though we arrived 15 minutes early
Great food and an awesome server. There was a large private party which made it a little noisy.
Thank you Traci T. for the excellent service! We so enjoyed our time at Roy's because of your fantastic care. We also loved our dishes and beverages and plan to return very soon.
We have dined here before and wanted to give this another go around. I can tell you that the service was great; Sheila took very good care of us and was most attentive, friendly and courteous... If we come back, we will ask to be seated in her station. Management was equally attentive as Tim came over to check on our satisfaction as well... It makes sense that he is where he is.
We look forward to our next visit back here!
Excellent food and service! Always perfect. The meals were excellent. Scallops and Mahi mahi was delicious. Highly recommend the Chocolate soufflé and Pineapple upside down cake.
Ambiance outside was great. Waiter was attentive and fun at first but it fell apart after a table of six drunk women kept ordering drinks and being served even though they were clearly intoxicated. It was as if we didn't exist after awhile. Then the birthday dessert comes and it has the wrong name on the plate. Even though he has been using my daughter's name every time he approaches the table and it's on a huge card the restaurant placed on the table. The plate says Sophia and my daughter's name is Madison. And I tell the waiter and he doesn't offer to fix it. Until the checks comes, and he clearly sees I'm annoyed. Ruined a special 16th birthday dinner.
The food this time was terrible compared to past experiences. Appetizers seemed pre-made. The “Whitefish with ponzu sauce” was basically a tuna steak. The decor is tired. Fine for the Disney crowd, but go elsewhere if you a local.
The food is always fantastic at this restaurant and the service was outstanding.
I am never disappointed when I go to Roy’s. Everything is perfect the food service the ambience I will continue to go there as I enjoy this restaurant
We love sitting at the chief’s bar and the hostess made it happen for us. We have been to several Roy’s in the islands and mainland and this is our favorite location.
We had a wonderful time. Will, our waiter, was fantastic as was the food. Amazing dinner!
Good, but, I expected better sushi than I can get at home in Fort Worth, TX. If I go back I will try the butter fish.
We were in town for a major convention. It took almost 3 hours for us to get our food. We sat there and watched while many tables around us who were seated after we were, received their meals. We complained and were treated very fairly, however it just seems that even though Anaheim is a convention town, the restaurant was not prepared. So from an experience and service aspect, that night was not great. From a food aspect, you really can't go wrong with the food at Roy's.
Thank you Traci T. for the excellent service! It was a very busy night, and you still made sure we were very well cared for and had a fantastic dining experience - you're the best, Traci. I had the three-course special - what a great deal and a good amount of food:) - no skimping. I can't wait to try the Monday night three-course special again! I cannot remember what my husband ordered, but he enjoyed it. We always have a great experience here at Roy's in Anaheim. The vegetable rolls are absolutely delicious, too. Looking forward to returning - hopefully soon.
