The food was delicious and the service was great! I highly recommend eating here.
Soufflé was amazing. Always is. I’ve been to a few locations around the United States. The food is always great. No complaints there. Ordered the butterfish. Melted in my mouth, was great!
Our server was okay. Not extremely personable but she knew what she was talking about in terms of the menu. So I can appreciate that. It sounded like she said her name was Barbie? Not sure.
The service was superb from greeting to their thank you for dining with them. The $49 Tasting Menu was not only a great value but also each selection was outstanding in preparation and flavor. Recommend early dining because it does get very busy and crowded after 6:00pm even on a weekday.
Please don’t get me wrong the food is amazing; however, if you have dietary restrictions you might need to rethink going. My reservation stated that I had several dietary restrictions and several employees reviewed my dietary needs with me but with each course brought out (which passed through several inspections via the cook, expediter, manager and server) each plate had an issue. Thankfully my dietary restrictions are not life-threatening; however, if they were I probably would not be here today.
We love Roy’s since the first time we’ve ever eaten there. Their customer service along with their food is superb. We highly recommend Roy’s!
Way too loud. Food is just too expensive for its quality. Fish was served practically raw. It was embarrassing to someone we chose to honor. Salad & dressing extremely overpriced & underwhelming. Dessert was terrible. I will never waist a penny there again.
Had wanted to go to this chain for years but was very disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high?
Food was good! The noise level was off the charts! I planned this as a date night for my husband and I. It was difficult to relax because of the noise level.
Great food. The lamb was perfect.
The spiced szechuan pork ribs (4) were delicious. The Roy's Melting Chocolate Cake was spot on. The lunch plate of salmon was a bit disappointing in size and flavor comparison to the dinner portion. The lunch portion was thin, albeit moderately moist, but not nearly as good as the slab for dinner. The shrimp Teppanyaki was just okay, a little over cooked, and a bit spicy for my wife. The miso soup was too salty. We asked for the complimentary edamame (you need to request it), and that was tasty add on. My wife and I were there to celebrate our anniversary. They were going to provide a complimentary Key Lime pie, but graciously upgraded it to the melting chocolate cake (at our request) which is their signature desert, and in our estimation is far superior to all their other desserts. The waiter and host (Tanya) were very accommodating and attentive. The $18 for the lunch plate made it an okay value, but not great. The better fare is at night. The $15 for the pork ribs was a bit high; I was expecting the lunch price to be a little reduced, and I think they used to give 5 ribs, but it is definitely a unique, good appetizer. Overall, we enjoyed our time in the aloha ambiance, and appreciated the appetizer and dessert, and therefore would give Roy's a thumbs up.
Shocking how mediocre the food was. Usually Roy’s knocks it out of the park. Total bummer since it was our anniversary. Service was fabulous and totally on the ball. Wish the food had matched the service.
Excellent food I love the Hawaiian Asian infused menu. Very delicious service was excellent.
Best Short Ribs out there. Lobster Bisque was impressive.
The staff, service and food were perfect from start to finish! We came here for a birthday celebration... 10 adults and a 6-year-old. They rolled out the special treatment for our youngest - bringing her food and a coloring book, crayons and kid's menu the moment we sat down. And for the birthday girl, a personalized message had been printed and placed on our table along with a few fresh flowers. Our servers were extremely attentive and accommodating, and the flavorful dishes pleased everyone. They even wrote out the youngest's name on her ice cream! We couldn't have been happier with our meal. Many thanks - can't wait to come back!
I usually really enjoy the food at Roy's. We haven't been there in a while but for this recent visit the food tasted over seasoned. The butter fish, which I usually love was heavily seasoned and was drowning in the red sauce poured over it. I couldn't taste the fishbecause of the abundance of spices added. Way too much. They need to go easy on the seasoning and let the butterfish stand out.
Food was amazing. It get really busy, I recommend making a reservation.
Roy's Anaheim is in a large complex with all chain restaurants. Roy's use to stand out but the food was fair at best, the hot plates were not hot, for example the potatoes on my fish plate tasted like they just came out of refrigerator. The fish tasted like it had been battered the day before, everything was just bland and mushy. On top of that the waiter kept calling me babe and darling. Not really appropriate. My husband, son and parent in laws were also dumbfounded why the waiter would address me like that. I will never go back to any Roy's after this experience.
Food was terrible, ordered medium rare steak, came out well done, also ordered shrimp salad that was supposed to have butter lettuce but we received romaine instead, shimp was cut up in tiny pieces with very few in salad. Was also supposed to have avocado in it and there was literally only one cube in the entire salad. Overall a huge disappointment. The waitress was the only good part of the evening. She was sweet.
Enjoyed our lunch with our friends and reminded me of our recent cruise. Superb service by our manager/head waiter. I forgot to ask his name.
Exceptional food and drinks!
Went for lunch and ordered the salmon plate. The grilled salmon was overcooked and dry. The salad was over dressed and soggy, rice had good flavor, the miso soup was very good, and the Sapporo was also nice and cold. Also had the braised short ribs, excellent and poke starter. I think the starters would feed two and we were a party of 4. The server had no comments or recommendations for starters.
I wouldn't go again for lunch, maybe will try dinner where there is more selection to choose from.
Came here for our anniversary. Canoe for was very good. Scallops were a huge disappointment - very salty and super small for the price. Husband ordered 4 sampler fish plate which was very good. Butterfish in that place was excellent.
Food is fabulous...prices are getting far out of control!!
Won’t be going back!!
We usually go for the butterfish but decided to take advantage of happy hour and the ribs and pineapple martini were excellent.
As the kitchen got backed up, I knew the temperature of my steak was doomed. Would’ve like the waiter to come by our table more often to keep us informed, instead he was sure to avoid any eye contact every time he passed by, leaving our ice lonely in our empty water glasses. No surprises here as the steak was severely undercooked- I left the blobs of raw meat on display on my plate- but never was asked once how the food tasted after it arrived. Adding insult to our wallets, the food is obnoxiously overpriced for the quality....I get it though, a bit of a tourist trap area so they get away with it. But others be warned, if you’re staying in a hotel close by then skip Roy’s.
2nd time at a Roy's. The service was Top notch all the way! Our server, Michelle, was very kind and attentive. Food was excellent!
Great Hawaiian fusion food. Our server was great and we set outside enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Great service & delicious Filet mignon, but the lobster had to be sent back because it dry & difficult to cut with steak knife.
Had a great celebration for my 38th Birthday at your Anaheim location....was originally bummed we couldn't go to the Newport location anymore because of Family memories and tradition....I was pleasantly surprised with the high level of care and professionalism of the Anaheim Location. Especially Michelle our Server and Debbie the Manager ! We look forward to celebrating more bdays anniversaries at your Anaheim location ! Mahalo Tyson
The trio fish platter was superb. Definitely would recommend it.
Food was delicious!
We had a great time awesome service and food!
Amy was an awesome waitress. She was welcoming and kept the drinks flowing.
We have been dining at Roy's for over ten years and love their food. I had in the past recommended Roy's to my friend to give it a try specially to try Asian fusion menus. We celebrated my b'day last Tuesday, and the "A Taste of The Philippines" was really a hit. I ordered the Tocino Pork Belly Skewer for appetizer (not fatty at all ), Adobo Braised Shank for my main and finished with the Ube Leche Flan. This was the best and I would love to try the Seafood Sinigang next time.
Yummy food and great place for date night or family dinner.
We had an absolutely amazing meal and the service couldn’t have been better.
wonderful food, great service from Christine
10 Hawaiians at the table, chowin down on ono grinds, a great time
We love going to Roy’s to celebrate our birthdays or anniversaries. The atmosphere elegant, yet comfortable and we don’t have to dress in a suit and tie. The food is always great and they personalize the free dessert with our names. A very sweet touch.
We’ll definitely come back.
Four of us had lunch at Roy’s on a Sunday to avoid the mandatory brunches at other places. They have nice set of lunch plates. My wife asked if they had butterfish since she prefers that over mahi-mahi. They said yes so 3 of us ordered it. All food was good but when the bill came the 3 lunch items were more than twice the menu price. Felt cheated. Server should have mentioned the difference in price of that size. Service also slow even though few other customers. That slowness added $3 to parking since the restaurant only covers 2 hours.
We love the food here and always have a great experience when we visit.
