I have been to 5 other Roys locations. My experience at this one was terrible. Fish was dry and service was poor. Not what I would have expected from my other Roys experiences at other locations.
We had an amazing Tim... food ...drink and service was awesome! Roy’s is always the best! This dining was exceptional! The service to my grandson by ensuring he had food and a drink right away. This helped him be occupied! Thank you Roys for always making a memory so sweet!
Came to Roy's Anaheim for a birthday celebration. Wonderful ambiance, delicious food! The Butterfish was outstanding and melted in my mouth. Highly recommend. The canoe appetizer was also fabulous. The service was superb and very accommodating to each of our likes and dislikes. I definitely recommend Roy's!
Took advantage of Roy's Pre Fix dinner on Monday. Outstanding value.
Absolutely fantastic! Scallops were cooked perfectly. Steak was the best. And the chocolate soufflé is always a must have!
had a great time. server recommendations were spot on.
Had a wonderful dining experience.
Great food, better staff. We had a great time and look forward to returning on our next visit to Anaheim.
We waited a very long us order. There was a feeling that they had no ingredients and went to the farm for a meat
Every dish and dessert that we had was delicious! We went back a second time this week to try a few other things and we’re not disappointed! Recommended is the butter fish and the duck breast!
Had dinner with several colleagues. We split the sampler appetizer platter with dumplings, egg rolls, ribs, and sushi, and I ordered the Butterfish (which was delicious). Had the chocolate soufflé for dessert (also delicious!!) Only negative was the restaurant was very hot, as it seemed the AC was not working. Otherwise it was a great meal!
Class A food and excellent service! My last experience with Roy's was in Poipu Kauai!
The menu, staff, atmosphere, and exceptional servers all contribute this this classy place especially when celebrating an event.
We had the Monday prix fix dinner, a fantastic value. Food and service were excellent and hopefully, this will continue with Debbi back at the helm!
Everything was perfect from start to finish! It was our 23rd anniversary. The table had flower pedals and a personalized card! Then a delicious dessert! Service was perfect! Thank you, Roys!
We are used to Roys in Maui and Roys in Newport Beach (now closed). This one in Anaheim seems out of place. The outdoor patio is right on Katella Avenue, a very busy Anaheim street. Not a pleasant, tropical atmosphere. We were seated at a small table inside in the corner, near the bathrooms. It was quieter than most of the restaurant, but many people walking by. Food was ok. We shared cauliflower appetizer which was very small (2-3 bites each). The maui wowie salad was next. We split one, which was large, but very few shrimp and almost non-existent avocado (both significant ingredients in the Hawaii version). Entrees: I had Prawns with udon noodles, my husband had duck. We both thought they were just ok. Sorry, but I'll wait until I get back to Maui to go to Roy's again!
Service was excellent. Everyone was warm, friendly, welcoming and attentive- except our waiter was somewhat distracted at times .
We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave the added attention of table card, small flower decor, staff coming by to greet or check on us and the special dessert.
We’ve enjoyed the food and preparation here at this Roy’s very much. And they are very flexible and accommodating in making changes or substitutions.
Celebrated my 60th bday! We chose Roys aa it’s our favorite restaurant and keep it for special occasions. As usual the food and service did not disappoint! But I was disappointed in the Anaheim location. Nothing like the old Newport Beach location! Unfortunately that closed down (don’t know why) . Anaheim is full of family’s and teenagers who are going to Disneyland. And Bubba Shrimp is next door. I can’t imagine being outside-no ambiance at all outside just noise and crowds. Although that is perfect for family’s, it’s not perfect for an intimate dinner for a special occasion.
I love Roys and the food, but I won’t go back to Anaheim again, regardless of the occasion, just because of the ambiance only!
Please ring back a So. OC location to replace Newport Beach!!
Our server was exceptional. Food was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Roy's is one of our all-time favorites whether in Hawaii or in various California locations for one big reason.
You can expect the same level of quality each & everytime across *all* of the performance dimensions:
Thank you very much for another wonderful dining experience. Also, special mention goes to our server Katherine H. who made us feel at home with here exceptional empathy & attentiveness skills.
Kudos to the entire Roy's team, once again.
This was our second visit to this Roy's, and it was even better than the first. Excellent, attentive service. For cocktails, we each had Drunken Mules. Our appetizer was the excellent lobster potstickers, followed by good-size tasty salads. And we both got the shellfish combo for our entrees, which included a lobster tail, scallops and several shrimp. For dessert, we tried the pineapple upside down cake, and it was worth the wait. Be sure to get your parking ticket validated.
Great food and ambience. I loved how our server talked about the different flavors we were experiencing. The manager came over too! Love Roys!
server unattentive with attitude, food was served lukewarm without apologies. Way overpriced for what you get, need to be more like roys in Hawaii
Great dinner with friends and colleagues. Food was amazing and the drinks were great!!
This was our second visit and I had the fish trio and my wife had the short ribs all sooo good.
Will be back next month,
Very nice Hawaiian fusion kitchen. High quality Seafood.
Food was good, service was good although a bit rushed. It was a co-workers birthday and not only did they give her a free dessert, there was a bday card on the table. But, they should have told her about the dessert, as she ordered one, and then they sent a separate “free” dessert which I thought was strange
Roy’s always delivers delicious meals and outstanding service.
Never have had a bad experience
Great for birthdays and anniversaries
Staff was very friendly and helpful
Roy's has a variety of food. It was a great experience, alcoholic drinks were good, food was great and price was expensive but we knew this before going. Lots of people were dressed up, but we went as casual. We'd do it again!
Food wasn’t as good as usual for some reason. Will still go back, but....
Foods are good, but taking order was slow, serving drink was too slow, serving dishes was also too too slow, I meant everything is very slow!
Very nice presentation. Balanced flavors. Everyone at our table was pleased with their. Try the Canoe and Macademian crusted Mahi Mahi, absolutely divine.
we love Roy's menu and had a delicious meal, but the service was sub par. We went early to beat the crowd, but our waitress was very hit and miss....we were also in a bit of a corner (near the restroom, which we did not notice right away). Our fish was prepared to perfection, but our edamame appetizer was bland and dry, nothing at all like the last time we enjoyed it there. We may need to try another location ~ Anaheim was a bit of a disappointment.
I was really looking forward to a lobster bisque but was disappointed to learn they ran out. It was about 5:30pm when I ordered it. The Mai Tai I ordered was good but it was not garnished with a pineapple which was odd to me, as most Mai Tai’s come with a pineapple wedge. I was really looking forward to feeling the Hawaiian vibe with the Mai Tai’s. I did ask the waiter for pineapple and he did bring me two wedges.
Ordered the calamari and the butter glaze was so light and calamari bland. No lemon wedge on the plate to enhance the flavor and dilute the fishy taste a bit.
The prawns had a flavor that I could only describe as sanitizer of sort and ate one of the three, shared the other, and did not eat the third. The bed of noodles were tasty.
The global tasting from Korea was excellent from start to finish. The upside down pineapple cake with cappuccinos topped of the evening well, despite the above mention.
Aside from the above a few disappointments, I expected more from Roy’s, as it was a treat for us and a date night away from kids but I would go back. Perhaps try a different location and maybe go earlier to ensure they have lobster bisque.
Too expensive for the small amount of food you get. Waitress was forgetful and not very attentive. Everything was “out” for that day.
While we got there ahead of busy hour our server was warm and accommodating without being intrusive, perfect. Great selections, generous portion and delicious. Had the sampler 3 course promotion. Would definitely recommend.
Dinner at Roy's is one of our annual Disneyland trip highlights. We have been coming for 16 years. This time, our server Jason S, was terrible. He was completely condescending. He didn't know the wine I wanted and blamed me for selecting something obscure. He kept trying to push the Canoe appetizer after I told him we didn't care for it, and was rude to my husband about it, who is a vegetarian. We felt completely rushed. He circled the tip percentages on the bill and came by after we signed the credit card just to pick up the check and look at his tip. He was very rude to the other servers, and even my kids who overheard his very loud voice, commented on how they thought he was a bully. I have to say, it was very close to ruining our evening. We will be back since Roy's a family favorite but if he is our server, we will request another person or leave. Usually Roy's staff is always welcoming, warm, and friendly.
