Our party of 5 had a great time. Our servers were very knowledgeable and attentive to food restrictions and allergies in our group. Food was outstanding! Will be returning when back in the area!
Simple but good Thai food near Capital One Arena, Shakespeare Theatre and 6th & I. $5 Thai beer.
Food is good, service was fast. I like the place, been my go to place for Thai food in DC
Great food! Would definitely come back! They also have great drink specials!
Restaurant is a cozy little place (which means that the tables are tightly spaced) and very convenient to Chinatown / Gallery Place. Staff is very attentive, and service is both exceptional and quick. The food is good, though not fantastic, but overall a good experience for quick Thai food.
A just okay place. Tables are too close together. It's loud. The food tasted fine but I wouldn't go again.
Mixture of eat-in/carry out restaurant. The food and drinks were good and the servers were nice.
We made this reservation to celebrate a birthday, but they didn't do anything special. We were seated right by the entrance/stairs, so we heard everyone as they came/went and especially when they would take the stairs, so it was distracting. Food-wise, we ordered the duck rolls, curry chicken puffs, golden bag, drunken noodle, spicy curry noodle, pad thai, kra pow, and the roasted duck. We liked the drunken noodle and spicy curry noodle the best. They had good flavor and the right amount of spice. The rest were just okay. The one that ordered the roasted duck said the duck tasted old. Service was good. Staff was attentive.
The best Thai food I ever had. Crisp clean & distinct flavor combinations and I hope to come again soon!
It was a very nice casual experience. The food was good and the service was great. The sound level was very nice and it was not noisy at all even though there were several customers. Would glad to go back again.
Great good, prices, and ambiance!
Ambiance, location, and service were all excellent. The only thing that took a star from this otherwise amazing experience was that the cocktails we had didn't really wow, and neither did the food. Both were good, do not get me wrong, but nothing exceptional; both seemed to lack a little flavor (could barely taste the ginger advertised in the advertised cocktail, and the curry of the main dish seemed weak as well).
This place was really great. They have 3 floors and any of the upper spaces are great to have a group dinner. The staff is very welcoming and everyone was so kind. We waiting for them to get the upstairs ready as we had a large group. After arriving, we were seated in about 5 minutes and the waiter came right away with water. He later returned to ask about drinks and then followed by the food. They have a large assortment of drinks, both alcoholic and virgin, and they all tasted great. The food menu was pretty diverse as well, and all their fried rice dishes tasted amazing. They had different spice levels and it was a great time.
Very solid Thai food. Convenient location and good service. Would recommend!
Sat for 15 minutes after being seated (I checked my phone) without even getting water on our table.
The food was unexceptional. Ambiance was fine and happy hour drinks run until 7. The catch is that our drinks were not served until AFTER appetizers and entrees arrived.
Need I say more? We won't be back.
Been here before and recalled the good cocktails so decided to return. Happy to say they still do very good cocktails!!! Note: happy hour ends at 7pm. We went mid week - so after 7pm the place calms down and is not noisy especially upstairs. Food was very good and we had amazingly fast service... but remember this was mid week. Your mileage Friday and Saturday may vary.
Excellent food and service!
Very average, "tourist quality" Thai Food.
Horrible service in all ways; food came sporadically.
Noise level in the upstairs dining room was deafening.
Nice atmosphere. Intimate. Service was great. Excellent food and fast cooks
Great place for a lunch with friends on a Sunday. Easy to get a table.
In the heart of Chinatown, this gem is delicious and moderately priced. Real Thai, not Americanized. The staff was super friendly and hospitable. Coming from a small city with limited culinary options, this dining experience made me sing!
The food was too sweet and there was no flavored distinction between the dishes that we ordered. Will not eat there again nor recommend it. Actually told our family and friends NOT to eat there.
Came with a large group- took a while to be seated, and order was wrong many times, some people didn't get their drink until we were done eating, some people didn't get their food until 30 minutes after others at the table. Wait staff did nothing to apologize or take anything off the bill even with all the errors. wouldn't recommend to a large group- maybe it is better for a smaller group of people.
Good food and dinner has a happy hour every day. Can get a Singha beer for $2.50 at happy hour with an entree. Even on the weekends!
Will definitely be coming back. The location wasn’t ideal but it is in Chinatown.
Servers weren’t that attentive but the food was great. No one in my party of 8 complained and plates were clean!
Being made to wait 30 minutes for a table already reserved on open table was the beginning of the ordeal. The orders were never fully filled, the waiters spoke no English, the seating was cramped, and the food was so so. Never again.
They have many yummy vegan options and great curry. We also took advantage of their happy hour drink prices (1/2 off from 5-7 daily).
Very slow service. The Pad Thai was not very authentic- no peanuts, no lime, no flavor. I asked for spicy- they gave it bland.
I'd recommend Royal Thai to anyone and everyone! Great food, a nice location, and a very friendly and helpful staff. I will be back!
Royal Thai consistently provides a great, authentic meal, w a smile, and they make every effort to ensure that I have a positive experience. After many visits, I’ve never had a bad meal, or service.
The food is not tasty and green curry was watered down, it didn't even taste flavorful or aromatic as it should be. The portions were also not that much compared to a traditional Thai place. However, the service and our waiter were nice and attentive.
Great food. Flavors are a true reflection of Thailand. Authentic.
The service was slow and the kitchen was backed up. They were clearly understaffed. The royal seafood soup has good flavor but not much seafood for $6.99. The spicy royal duck was not spicy and may not have been all duck.
Fantastic! Loved the setting in an old brownstone.
I ordered my favorite Thai dishes that I almost always get. The preparation here was sub par in flavor.
We went with a large group of people — they were able to accommodate us all, and still brought our food out fairly quickly! The food was wonderful.
Good food. Service was so-so
Wow I had the Royal Noodle. Off the hook good. Great and friendly service with beautiful smiles
Food was typical Thai food and very good. Extremely noisy. Did not see access for people with mobility problems.
It’s an amazing boutique place, food is of great quality. Been there few times and always came out happy.
