Roy really knows how to cook. Hand made pasta with fillet mignon meatballs were excellent. Best pasta and meatballs you will find.
Roy never fails! The staff was very friendly and took care of us! The food was mouth watering, so good! Everything was perfect & made the best first impression for my boyfriend, this is definitely going to be out new go to spot!
it had been years since we have been to Roy's so it was fun to return. It has a great atmosphere and though known for late night dining we were there early as we were attending a play at the New Vic following dinner. Our server was nice and allowed us to relax over wine without any pressure to order our meal. I ordered the special (prime rib) but found it not as special as hoped. It was a bit overdone (not a true medium rare as ordered) and it may have sat too long on the line, as it was not piping hot once it arrived at the table.....The pasta dish my husband ordered was really good. Hoping to come again, as we know it is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara,

Enjoyed our dinner - have been to Roy before and usually always good. We were disappointed when we checked the menu on Open Table when we made the reservation - it had very little of what was actually presented - need to update that! For was still good but not the choices we expected.

Really excellent food for me and my date. Atmosphere is unique too. I’ve been when live bands were there and it was enjoyable. I suggest they use filtered drinking water instead of tap although there was a lemon slice which helps.

The best part is the warm honey whole wheat bread. The service was top notch! Had the seafood pasta. Food was good but not fantastic.

Thanksgiving dinner was terrible. Our cooked carrots were raw, mashed potatoes were COLD and tasted funny. No one finished their plate. Dessert was good with a funky sauce.

OpenTable pictures really over-sell Roy. It's not nearly as clean, hip or "cool" as you would be led to believe. Food is fair, but presentation is barely above a Golden Corral. Service was lousy. Quiet midweek, 6pm and only one guy was handling 6 tables plus bartending. Basically he took orders and delivered plates but never had time to check on anyone. Probably a cool spot 10 or 20 years ago but now it's just run down and struggling. I was offended by how small the salmon serving was for the price. 3oz at best. Overall a total fail with so many other better choices nearby.
The menu was very odd and lacked variety, we walked out after a glass of wine as nothing looked very good. In addition they insisted over our objections on placing my wife and I at a very small table even though the place was nearly empty and remained so. Just a weird experience.
We are new to SB; just visiting. We had a perfect meal here. Two main courses; one desert; a bottle of wine: a margarita and a beer = $122. The food was great. Freshly prepared and well judged. We might even go back tomorrow. Live jazz to (but not every night).
We love Roy for the great atmosphere and wonderful food and often excellent art on the walls.
As usual the food was very good and reasonable. We always like the consistency of the quality of the food and service. Also, the prices are very fair, especially for Santa Barbara!!
Wonderful experience in private room for our group of 15. Roy personally called me to confirm he could reserve the room. He shops daily so menu changes daily. I had seafood pasta, (homemade) yummy broth and perfectly cooked seafood. Highly recommended.
I used to come to this spot 15 years ago when I was attending UCSB because it was the only late night option in town besides Denny's. Always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I recently went back on a weekend trip down to Santa Barbara and it has definitely held up! The food remains amazing and the atmosphere is great. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
