We love the food at Roxy’s! We have never had a bad meal. When we meet friends there, we love that we can have a conversation and not shout at each other to be heard. So many new trendy places are so noisy that we can not enjoy ourselves and we walk out with ringing ears!
Love this restaurant, but don't get seated in the open area under the bar, the music is so loud you can't hear your date, waiter, nothing but the extremely loud music. Not a good dining experience there. Inside away from the bar this restaurant is excellent.
First time diner at Roxy. Service was very, very slow. Be sure to try the tasty bacon & cheese bread.
Great service - thank you Spencer! Wonderful food, accommodated our special requests and made sure we didn’t miss out on the fabulous martini happy hour! Friendly environment. We are local and this is now our go to restaurant.
Food is over salted and over priced for what you get. Salads are over dresses also. Alcohol from the bar service is faster than most places but maybe that's to hide other deficiencies.
The ambiance was great, as was our server, Clark. What a wonderful perk, 1/2 off your entree with you theater ticket. The prime rib was great, the best ever. We had not been to Roxy before, but will certainly return.
My husband and I were very impressed with both the service and the food. Our server was knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. The manager was obviously very on top of things, engaged with both his staff and the guests...not hiding in his office... and quick to correct any minor mishap. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. We went to a comedy show after dinner and then decided we wanted dessert. Despite a few other options, we opted to return for a nightcap and treat. They had a very large party and technically were not seating additional guests, but they remembered us from earlier and said they couldn't let us not finish our meal. Dessert did not disappoint either!
My two daughters and I went to dinner at Roxy before going to the Cirque Paris show at the Eldorado. We had the mushroom appetizer which is rich and delicious. One daughter had the king crab legs that were on the special menu for the evening and reported that they were delicious, the other daughter and I had the petit filet mignon with béarnaise sauce, tender and served with asparagus. One daughter ordered the lobster bisque but ended up returning it for the caesar salad because the bisque was not really in a cream sauce and she couldn't find any lobster as she expected and our server was happy to make the switch quickly. We have eaten at Roxy many times because we really like it and prior to this visit we'd always been seated in the back section. This time we were right behind the Sushi Sake chefs in the front part and the live music from the bar at Roxy, though great, was awfully loud and made it hard to converse. Next time we'll know to ask for a table in the back. We love, love the bacon bread at Roxy!
We also made a mistake and didn't realize our show ticket included a coupon for half off of our entrees until we actually went to the show. I went back to Roxy when the show was over and explained what happened. Even though it was closing time and the hostess was getting done with her shift she went back and found my original receipt and gave me the discount and I sure appreciated her going the extra mile to correct my mistake. Thank you!!!
It is apparent that notes accompanied with Open Table reservations are not reviewed. My standing notes are that my husband is hearing impaired and a quieter seating area would be much appreciated. Last night, we were seated between the kitchen and bar area, so are conversation was hindered. I was also celebrating my 40th birthday. None of the staff was aware, hence the notes attached to the Open Table reservations.
As for the service, the server came off as rushed and impolite. When he dropped off my glass of champagne, he didn't say one word. The level of service we received compared to the friendliness and time spent by the other servers at their tables was quite incongruous.
All and all, coupled with noisy environment, the lousy service and the rubbery lobster tail, we were incredibly disappointed with our dining experience at Roxy. I regret not going to Sterling's instead.
Our server ,Tuila, was outstanding. Food and wine was great. Bus staff very attentive. Only irritating part was a girl bread server that was very rude and obnoxious.
Food was fantastic. Filet and salmon were incredible. Martinis were great and if you go you have to get the cheese bacon bad they bring around. Waiter was incredibly nice and professional. 12/10 would recommend for a nice meal.
In the movies when you see a new couple go on a date and they go to a dim candle lit dinner that has soufflé on the menu and you think to yourself, wow I’d like to be taken there. Roxy’s is that place. My girlfriend loved it, I loved it and it was delicious and romantic.
WE LOVED THIS RESTAURANT. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS AND BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED. THE WAIT STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. WE BOUGHT TICKETS TO THE THEATER AND RECEIVED A COUPON FOR 50% DISCOUNT ON ANY ENTREE. I HAD A LOBSTER DINNER AND IT WAS PERFECT.
Service was good . Food was ok but not worth the price. Atmosphere was dark!
Been to Roxy's many time, never disappoints. Great food and great service.
The food was awesome the service was excellent, can't wait until next time!!
Our waiter (Spencer) was conscientious about my Gluten-Free dining requirements. All of the staff was attentive. Our entrees were delicious and attractively plated.
Waiter service was very slow, food took a long time to arrive
The food is always great. My only criticism is they have no vegan options on the menu. The server did say that the chef would prepare a plate of steamed veggies. My daughter decided to go with the only vegetarian option on the menu - mushroom truffle ravioli which was delicious!
Roxy is one of our "Go to Places," when seeing shows in downtown Reno. Food is consistently good to excellent. Service is far above average. Would highly recommend.
Dinner was with friends before we all went to a show at the Silver Legacy. The food options on the menu were extensive enough without being overwhelming and everyone found something they wanted to try. Everyone in our group was extremely pleased with their food and the service, which has always been outstanding at Roxy. Definitely would recommend Roxy as a dining destination in Reno.
The service was extremely slow. I understand that at a good steakhouse the meal is served slowly for the experience, but this was almost painful. The only thing that stopped us from just out right complaining was the server had a great personality and was extremely apologetic. The food was just ok, I really expected more. My meat was so drowned in sauce that I couldn't even enjoy its flavor. I had to finally request some creamy horseradish to just get through it. The best thing about my meal was the bacon cheese bread. There was also an extreme amount of noise from the adjoining Roxys lounge. It completely ruined the atmosphere of the steakhouse. It really gave the steakhouse an unflattering cheap vibe. Plus it made impossible to relax. I have come to expect more from The Eldorado having really fantastic food and experiences at La Strada and their other restaurants that this was just extremely disapointing and left me with a sour stomach. I would have done better with my time and money had I put all my money I spent in an pile and lite it on fire for warmth. I will not be back and I will share my experience with others to save them from this disappointment.
Anniversary celebration; great service and dinner was fantastic. Don't forget the Martini Bar!
Great food and Dane, our server, made excellent suggestions. A great night all around!
Roxy is a great place for a date with friends or significamt other. Good selection of steaks and other non-meat items. Reasonable wine list and great cocktails. And get one of the souffles for dessert. Excellent.
The restaurant was very busy, so service was a bit slow. I felt the options on the menu were pricy and limited compared to the past, but the food was delicious.
I had a glass of wine at the Roxy Bar before dinner, and the bartender was not friendly and when I paid cash for my wine and did not pick up my change immediately, the bartender "assumed" the change ($6.00!! for a $14.00 glass of wine) was all for her and picked it up and put it in her tip jar so I had to ask for her to bring the change back so I could tip her properly.
Unfortunately, this put a bit of a damper on my review.
We've been going to all Eldorado restaurants for years with great pleasure. We had a party of 7 celebrating various birthdays. We had delicious martinis, excellent Ferarri Carano wine and excellent service. The food however wasn't up to the Eldorado standards we've experienced in the past. Two of our party had salmon which was over cooked and one had prime rib that they described as not very good. The remainder had chicken, short ribs and filet mignon, all of which were perfect!
After years of walking by on vacations we decided to make dinner reservations for my wife's birthday the Martini were great the service provided was exceptional and the meal was one of the best I've ever had what a great time we had.
Every time we come to Reno, we eat at Roxy’s. Great food, Martini bar has great live music, but you can also be seated in a quiet part of the restaurant so you can have comfortable dinner conversation. This visit was the first time we took advantage of early dining special and it was the best value I have ever had on this quality of dining. Three courses for under $30! I highly recommend it!
For a date night it was a great evening. Dane was awesome and kept an eye on us without overcrowding us ...thanks!!
Enjoyed my meal and the service, would return next time I'm in the area.
Everyone in my party of 7 raved about their food. I enjoyed my filet so much I'm going back tonight.
Excellent food, great service and good seating. Worth the drive from Sacramento.
Roxy was amazing! The service, atmosphere, and food were all amazing, not to mention the amazing wine list! Definitely a new favorite!
Outstanding staff! - from the front reception all the way through to the kitchen and wait staff.
Food was AMAZING!
Would recommend this place to any foodie, they really know how to offer an exceptional, perfectly prepared dish, with knowledgeable wine pairing.
Ambiance was relaxing and comfortable.
We ended our experience with the souffle which solidified our opinion this restaurant has the highest level of expertise and professionalism that you will find in Reno.
Thanks for the wonderful memories!!
I took my wife here for her birthday and it was amazing. The service and the food was phenomenal. We will definitely come back. It my favorite restaurant in Reno.
Great food and service, not rushed at all which I prefer. Interesting decor, warm and inviting would definitely come back.
The Roxy is always outstanding! Scott is an amazing server and will give you suggestions that will not dissapoint. We celebrated our 22nd anniversary and could not have asked for a better or more fun night and it all started with the Roxy.
