Good service terrible food for too much money. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
We've eaten well at the Sea Grille before, and every place can have an off night. This was one. Poké and soft-shell crab were delicious. But the grilled swordfish was too dry, the vegetables accompanying it dull and not fresh (rice in particular); and the "vacherin" dessert had little relationship to the genuine article.
Service, however, was fine, and the manager was very gracious in responding to the criticism. We'll hope for better luck next time.
Food was very good. Service was impeccable. Only complaint was the noise level. There was a table with 5 children or so and the parents were letting them run wild; screaming, jumping on chairs, playing tag. I felt the restaurant should have asked the parents to either wrangle their beasts or leave the restaurant as it was inappropriate for the setting/time of night.
Great finish to a great day out for a sail! Perfect location, great food.
Great view, great seafood. Once of the best spots in Boston for a business lunch, inside or out in good weather.
Got there when the "summer in the city" band started playing. It is an awesome spot for outdoor dining. Service was very attentive.
The food, atmosphere and service were superior.
Our occasion was a reunion with 2 women friends, their daughters, and their daughters' babies. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and they were so accommodating for all our needs including 2 high chairs waiting for us! Our table was by the windows with gorgeous views. Our waiter, Chotol, was extremely gracious and patient with our indecisions as we tried to catch up with each other! Our food arrived promptly and was very good (salads and sandwiches). They even steamed vegetables for one of the babies. We lingered quite a while as the atmosphere was so warm, the light was pouring into the room and it was just a wonderful reunion and we simply didn't want to leave! I can't say enough about our experience and want to thank all the staff at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille for ensuring memories of a lovely Sunday afternoon.
View and food very good . Check in at restaurant with a reservation asked if I wanted to sit outside we said ok only to have to wait again to check in. Sat us in front of a service station where a plate was dropped and broke at my feet. Asked for a desert menu after waiting for awhile for waitress only to watch her wait on 3 tables and never come back . We had to yell to her for check and left for desert and coffee elsewhere
Unfortunately this was a below expectations meal. Service level was low. We should have know there was a problem when the table next to us left after waiting. We must have waited 10 min for a server before we spoke to hostess and then It was another 5 min
Service only marginally improved after orders given. We needed to ask to gave water glasses filled and we were never offered bread
A disappointing experience especially for the cost
Our service was poor, wait person slow responding, waited 20 min to get cash back from my bill.
Women at the table next to us was loud and annoying.
Rowes Wharf Sea Grille was so accommodating. When making the reservation, I asked for a seat by the water. The day of the lunch turned out to be unbearably hot, in the high 90's F. I called and asked to adjust our seating to indoors. Not only was our party relocated, but provided seating by the windows with a beautiful view. Service was excellent, the food was amazing. When we returned to the office, my boss said, "great restaurant choice!"
My wife and I were there for a festive 4th of July dinner. Very pleasant atmosphere, great food, great service. Highly recommend the clam chowder, octopus, and tuna tartare. Good wine list. Fair value all the way around.
Wonderful experience. Great food, attentive and knowledgeable staff
The noise outside from “music”was unbearable. We were driven inside but had gone there for outside seating. The food was fabulous.
Souper pour la fête de mon conjoint au delà de mes attentes. Repas excellent dans une superbe ambiance relaxe. Belle terrasse sur le bord du quai. Le luxe à prix raisonnable.
We arrived early to have a drinks at the outdoor bar and put our name in for outdoor seating. The hostess was very helpful and said we would have a table ready when ever our other party arrived. The service was excellent, and the food a good value. The swordfish was cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth tender! Would definitely return..
Excellent. One of my favorite sea food spots in Boston and that is a lot coming from New Orleans!
Food is always fresh and delicious and the cocktails are inventive! We love enjoying the Summer Concert Series here! Thank you for making an ordinary week night so enjoyable!
Loved the service and location while listening to the free Summer in the City live music! My only negative comment is not allowing a portion of a party to sit and order drinks and food while waiting for others at a reserved table. The service beyond that was fabulous as is the view!
Top=notch in food, service, ambience, location and value.
dinner with three other gals— excellent service, our server was lovely, and very accommodating for Celiac— even provided gluten free bread! would definitely go back, especially for a nice occasion or date
The ambiance is beautiful on a gorgeous summer day. I had the focaccia sandwich that was just ok. They originally brought out the wrong entree so the entire table waited for me to get my meal - that’s always awkward. I thought it was going to be a mozzarella tomato basil kind if sandwich with pesto. Nope. Just grilled cheese with pesto, tomato on the side - it really was quite blah.
A wonderful experience! Beautiful setting. Great food. Live music. What more would anyone want??
We had a great time listening to the live music and watching the people. The food was great, the service was terrific. I look forward to going again this summer!
The location was convenient to my office and I was taking my coworker out for a thank you meal. The food was delicious, the service, atmosphere and view was all great. I would definitely recommend it.
We had reservations for inside but requested outside once we got there and the weather was gorgeous. They were able to accommodate which was great but then they just didn’t follow through on a lot of stuff. We were seated at a small 2 person table with my husband and our 2year old and they never brought us the highchair we requested until i asked 3 more times. Then they asked what we wanted to drink but were never given menus. After the waitress gave us menus, it took another 10-15min before she came back to get our drink order, at which point we just ordered everything (and I googled the kids menu since we didn’t receive one). At one point I spilled the water glass (super small table for a 3 person party) and no one came to check, when I mentioned it and requested more water and a new napkin, we got more water and no napkin. The food runners/bus boys were far better attentive than our waitress who was hard to be found. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was great but for the price/standard of the restaurant, the service left a lot to be desired. A lot of little things that made us feel like we were forgotten of, including a manager (i’m assuming) going around to multiple tables and skipping ours. We spent a pretty penny and didn’t feel like we got the service we would have expected/deserved. Disappointing.
Service was excellent, always making sure your coffee and juice was full. We had the breakfast buffet which was 32 dollars and delicious. Was able to order omelets and custom eggs/pancakes included with buffet as well. The waterfront views were so nice as well. Would recommend for a special occasion brunch!
The views were beautiful and the food was amazing! I had white-cheese macaroni and cheese (from kid's menu) and swordfish. Don't miss the strawberry shortcake! I will be going back...
Excellent atmosphere, food, and staff.
Food was good. Our table ordered the lobster roll and tuna nicoise which were very good. However, the service was extremely slow. Our waiter walked right past us several times.
Most reliable business lunch venue on the waterfront. First class food and service. Nice to sit outdoors on nice days, right on the waterfront.
It was my wife’s birthday and the staff and food and ambience was perfect!
Wonderful service and absolutely amazing food! I had been there for breakfast previously and was really excited to try their lunch. I t exceeded expectations. The service, the view and the food - all some of the very best in Boston!
We had a handful of appetizers to split- the tuna tartare was okay not terrific, but we should have sent the octopus back- chewy, and not very tasty. We can always count on the tab to be nothing under $100. Totally fine for a special fun kick off for the evening. But then I do expect food to be well presented, warm and tasty. This time, sort of bland.
Had a terrific meal! There were 6 of us, each ordered something different & all agreed the food and wine were stellar. Expensive though, and more dressy than casual. We sat inside because it was a cool night, but the outdoor area looked great, right on the harbor. We’ll definitely go back!
WE had a very delicious meal. 3 of us ordered the swordfish which was just perfect-tender and tasty. My son had the lemon sole and said it was the best he had ever had!!
The vegetables were done to perfection.
The rolls were warm, freshly baked and yummy.
The wait staff could not have been more friendly or attentive.
The server paid no attention to us. I proceeded to ask the hostess to find him for the bill. You should never make a client wait to pay
Went for brunch on a Saturday and it was wonderful! Great food, great service, great view!
