I have eaten here a number of times over the years. The food was predictably good, but the service was subpar. When our oysters were first served they were not properly shucked and had to be sent back. The chef made good and sent us out new ones and more than we had originally ordered. That was much appreciated. Unfortunately, I had better, more attentive service at the local diner where I had breakfast the prior day than this restaurant. We had to repeatedly seek someone out to get service. Three times in a row we had to request our server's attention and it was not busy at all- just a few other diners. The servers were polite and pleasant, but it was tedious to constantly have to look for them.
Maitre D' was on top of his game. Chef did a fantastic job. Waiters were some of the most on the ball I've ever seen.
Great hidden gem!!One of Boston's best kept secrets, Have the chowder. And the Halibut
Staff helpful but food was average which did not match the price had the worse appetizer I have ever eaten and luckily the server removed cost from our bill. Good view though so that is my only complement for the restaurant
Nice place, the service was excellent and actually the Shrimp and Wild mushroom appetizer was quite good. Had the Clam Chowder which had good flavor, but unfortunately the clam garnish was the only clam to be found in the soup. For main course had the scallops which were a bit bland. My wife had the lobster which was average as far as lobster goes. All and all the food was disappointing for such a nice place with good service.
This was a return visit. The food is always wonderful, good wine list and the service excellent. You can't beat the view. It's always on our must visit list when in Boston. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Lovely meal. Staff very friendly and food was excellent
I had a reservation and when I arrived there was plenty of outside seating. However, the hostesses were very unorganized and seating from 2 different locations resulting me in waiting unnecessarily for a table. People who arrived after me ended up being seated before me. The table location as a result was poor.
Had a great luncheon. Was able to sit outside and enjoy the weather.
Our waiter was exceptional. I do not know his name but he was a south American gentleman. He provided a great explanation of the menu and was very informative, courteous and friendly all evening. His recommendation on the wine was spot on. I was there for my wife's birthday but take clients to the restaurant all the time. Exceptionally consistent. Sea food is always fresh and well presented. I recommend the restaurant to people all the time.
Great snapper, good drinks, warm service. We had a wonderful dinner in a beautiful setting.
Simply gorgeous food, even though a little pricey! Excellent service and no-one rushing us between courses. Lovely setting on waterfront.
Attended the Summer Music Series while dining at the Sea Grille, and also happened to catch fireworks over Boston Harbor. Amazing ambiance, danced the night away on a floating barge. While the food is a bit pricing, the atmosphere was spectacular.
The lemon sole of my guest was dry and tasteless, while my filet mignon and vegetables was not medium rare as I requested and EVERY THING was OPER-PEPPERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've enjoyed going to the Sea Grill many times, but apparently they had fourth-ranked chefs doing our meals. I will have to wait to decide whether I go back again. Probably not, even though it is right across the street from where I work. Such a disappointment and I feel embarrassed for my guest who was expecting a great meal as I had told him it would be. Shame on the Sea Grill!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic setting overlooking Boston Harbor, with a private party over our shoulder. Excellent food, but really a truly wonderful outdoor dinner experience.
We eat here often. Superior food and service. Great views. Our table was NOT ready.
The ambiance cannot be beat. The food is very fine, consistently. This is a great spot if you eat outdoors. Indoors, it is fine but not superb.
Great for brunch after picking up a relative at Logan airport. Terrific seaport views, great food, parking garage nearby.
This was a small 50th birthday celebration with a view of the Blues Barge. Being of moderate income, we stuck with the salads but splurged on 3 delicious desserts. The best touch was the Happy Birthday in writing on my friend's dessert plate. Despite our meager order (no liquor either) the waitress was attentive and gracious, and we never felt like we had to finish quickly. thank you!
Good food ,great views, great serice,no rush to move you along
