Rowes Wharf Sea Grille Ratings and Reviews
I got a deal from Living social for a three course plus a wine pairing, while it was a good deal (the deal was still $98 and we were still responsible for the taxes and service and we did order additional alcohol the total plus the living social was about $150), I felt like we were treated differently because we bought the internet deal versus just going in and ordering off the menu. Just got the deal to try the restaurant out, will not be going back.
My husband and I travel quite a bit and try to find the best rated restaurants. However, the blend of unique flavors at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille may be unlike anything we have ever had before. We were both in some sort of gastronomical heaven. The ambience and service only further enhanced the amazing evening. If you are anywhere nearby, you must try to go!
Horrible. We purchased a chefs 3 couse curated tasting menu on
Living Social and couldn't have been more disappointed
by (mushy heirloom tomato salad, boxed mashed
potatoes and dry chicken and the plain white rice
and boring cod. The dessert wasn't much better either and the
wine pairing was really only suitable with dessert although it was served with
Dinner. The staff were slow and kept speaking in Italian and smirking
at the guests...very off putting:(. Would not recomend!
Perfect day relaxing on the Wharf. Not rushed which is appreciated. Salmon cooked to perfection. The scallops were fabulous. The sangria was some of the best I tasted. Lemon sorbet a bit icy. Susan the waitress was great. Let us relax and enjoy a leisurely saturday lunch. Great experience.
Unfortunately we did not stay very long. We were seated and we sat for 10 minutes with no one coming by to tell us that someone would be with us soon. Waiters were rushing by to go outside to take of other guests with no comments for us. We left and decided to walk over to the North End for dinner.
One of my very favorite meals in the city. Simply grilled fish (halibut is amazing) on a bed of double sauted veggies....divine AND healthy. Great lunch spot to bring clients. Only really go in the summer to sit on the patio as the dining room is a bit stuffy.
We were celebrating two family members birthdays on this Sunday night and looked forward to eating at this restaurant by the harbor. Our past experiences have been good, but this night we all felt that there was much left to be desired - in terms of the food and service. I was disappointed that the dinner was less than I had expected and, in fact, had enjoyed on previous occasions. Much too expensive in relation to other harbor restaurants and quite subpar service. Ambience does not make up for that.
Waited 40 minutes for server to take our order after mentioning to the hostess. Server poured wrong wine and looked puzzled when we spoke to him. Waited 30 minutes after entree dishes cleared to order dessert after finally flagging server down. Another 30 minutes after dessert finished to locate server for bill. It was a good thing we were there for the entertainemnt as well and not in any rush because this is not the way to turn tables over or win repeat customers.
My office is in this building so I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner in this restaurant on various occasions. Although the service and food has not been exceptional in the past, it was this time. Our server was delightful and let us know she was mindful of the fact that one of us had a plane to catch. Everything came at just the right time - not too rushed but no waiting either. The food was delicious and we had a lovely time looking out on the harbor. I would recommend this restaurant based on this experience.
Party of 4 on a Friday night during the outdoor movie series. We had a reservation, but were placed on a waiting list for an outdoor table. The hostesses then removed our name from the waiting list without our consent and without telling us. After much confusion, we were finally seated.
We ordered drinks. Service was slow. Nearly an hour after we sat down, we tried to order food. Only then did our waitress tell us that each member of our party was required to order an entree. We were more interested in the appetizers and were planning to order two per guest. She said we could not do that. So we ordered no apps, only entrees. They were nothing special. She and the house lost money - our appetizer tab would have been bigger. We left annoye
absolutely gorgeous view of Boston Harbor and the hotel itself is equally gorgeous.
The restaurant: lovely ambiance. The waiter kept running off before we finished speaking/ordering/asking questions. The swordfish was very dry and luke-warm. Over-priced given the quality of the food. But again, the ambiance was worth every penny.
Bar was fair.
Breakfast at The Room for an Anniversary was very Bad, Coffee cold, the Food was absolutely the Opposite from the Dinner what we enjoyed so very much.
A breakfast Place in Bridgewater around the Corner makes the same Food but the Coffee is always Hot..
Our Dinner, some waiting Time. My Lamb, also my Husbands Fillet hat to go back it was over cooked.More Waiting Time , but it was fine with the Restaurant. The server had a great Way to save our Spirit.
I loved that we get a Window Place, we ask for.
Sad is, my Husband has Cancer can eat very little and had to go through that Waiting Time.
We made a reservation at the Sea Grille mainly to be able to listen to music offered on the "Blues Barge". What we didn't realize was that there was a lighter menu and better seating for that purpose on a lower level. Our reservation did not include that area and has a separate reservation system. I tried calling the restaurant to specifically ask where the best seating for that purpose would be, however, no one answered the phone. Ultimately, we had an "ok" experience, but people walking by or standing in front of us and the loud conversation in our area made listening to the music less than pleasant. Don't bother getting the wrap (leek) it has absolutely no taste, otherwise food was ok. Great wine list.
We requested an outdoor table and even though there were outdoor tables the houstess said they were reserved for hotel guests coming a half hour after our reservation. We were seated indoors and took a full 10 minutes to come over for our order. We had asked the hostess if the parties never arrived could we be switched outdoors. She came in over an hour later when there were 4 empty tables to be switched. She then said they would bring our meal outdoors that was on our table. 10 minutes later the cold food arrived. We were never given a server. The hostess brought us a bill even though we wanted desert. (nobody ever asked us that question). Desert was extremely slow in serving and another 10 minutes after we left the credit card to re
a nice lunch overlooking Boston harbor, with very attentive service. very nice sandwich & salad offset by dry cornbread and bottled lemonade (Nantucket Nectar in a bottle in an upscale restaurant -- REALLY?!). could be a very strong choice if they upgrade around the edges.
Its a very pretty place with totally unimpressive food. my salad - the crab salad, was so unappetizing upon presentation. I was starved or I would have sent it back. It was a tiny smattering of crab with a few pieces of lettuce scattered on the plate. Some avocado and maybe tomatoes - I cannot remember. Not worth the price for sure.
The atmosphere was nice, being right on the water, unfortunately the food and the service were not as spectacular. The wine list was not up to date and our waiter tried to pass off a different wine than what we ordered. When we pointed out it wasn't what we ordered he tried to convince us that it was a better bottle than what we ordered and pushed it on us. He was not very attentive and forgot a few things we asked for. Our appetizer was very good, but the entrees were just ok. I probably wouldn't go back.
