Rowes Wharf Sea Grille
Extraordinary gracious service, perfect timing on food and drink, lovely view, quiet enough for conversation and lovely food beautifully presented.
Great service . Everyone extremely courteous. Lovely view.
Went for a business lunch with a colleague. Service by Susan was great. She addressed me by name. My colleague had the crabmeat salad and I had the shrimp cobb salad. Both were excellent.
I dined at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille with my adult children on Christmas Eve as a special occasion. I requested 2 weeks in advance a window seat and quiet table. Upon arriving the hostess showed no interest whatsoever in accommodating my requests. Although the restaurant was only half full she insisted on seating us at a noisy table near the kitchen away from the windows and refused to seat us at better situated tables that were empty and apparently set for the following day. She was deeply apathetic, lazy, and showed no awareness of the important holiday and event. Even after protesting and suggesting other tables she refused to accommodate us. The table service was OK. The food quality was very mixed, not good, with the meat dishes very dry and inferior. Bad value for the money ($300 dinner), apathetic hostess and service environment. I dine out very often in Boston and I definitely will never return to this restaurant. Don't visit unless you want to leave in a very bad mood.
Everything from the service to the food was phenomenal. From the moment we pulled up to the hotel we were greeted with smiles and helpful guidance (seeing as we were visitors to Boston). The ambiance was spectacular and the dining room was beautiful. Our waiter was kind and considerate recommending the best for us and being careful of my food allergy. The food was delicious and filling, having graduated from culinary school I can be a little critical but the food was amazing. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future and I highly recommend it.
My wife and I went here for our first wedding anniversary after my father-in-law gave us a gift certificate to the Boston Harbor Hotel (so we could choose from a couple of restaurants). We decided to go to Rowes Wharf Sea Grille due to the menu and the waterfront views. We had a wonderful time, the food was outstanding, and our server, Adrian, was amazing. We are looking forward to visiting in the summer to experience the outdoor seating and live music!
5 of us had a very nice business dinner. Our server Adrian was very efficient and super nice. He recommended delicious Chardonnay, which made a guest from NYC happy. Food was wonderful.
A weekend away
Excellent, loved it! Ridiculous that open table requires this to be at least 50 characters long.
My wife and I met friends and we had an absolutely fantastic meal at Rowe’s Wharf. Our waiter was excellent and the food was superb. My wife had the seared scallops and said it was one of the best she had ever had. My friend and I each got the halibut based on the Easter’s recommendation and it was truly one of the best pieces of fish I have ever eaten. Simply prepared and just melted in your mouth.
Ambience was nice but not overly fancy. Tables were a good distance apart so you could hear each other talk and have a nice conversation. We will definitely be back!
Jonathan, our waiter, was fantastic! Great menu recommendations, great timing, very attentive and very charming! A Great dining experience!
We started with Clam Chowder - which was one of the best I have every had. And it is served in a beautiful bowl with a fantastic piece of toasted bread. I had the pan seared scallops and they were cooked to perfection. My husband had the special for the evening which was a pan seared trout. Man the flavor was fantastic - an awesome smoky flavor. The entire dinner and service was fantastic.
Lovely lunch there, great food and excellent service, we will definitely return. Thanks!
Good little spot for a romantic dinner. The ambience is really nice. You can have a conversation. I had the most delicious lobster meal. I tried my husband’s fillet mignon and it was delicious. I might order that the next time we go to this restaurant. The waiter was really attentive, he checked on us periodically, and he was very efficient. I would recommend this place for romantic dinners and special occasions.
Fantastic find in Boston. Great ambience, exceptional service and some of the freshest seafood in town.
Best place in Boston for a business lunch when the conversation is important. Great and unimposing service, perfect food and quiet. Perfect!
First time eating here. Now our favorite for seafood in Boston.
Lovely first class restaurant with impeccable service and fantastic food.
We had an early dinner and got a table at the window, with a wonderful view of Boston harbor. The atmosphere was quiet and very comforting. The food was excellent (albeit not cheap). The recommended wine was also very good (also not cheap, but well worth it).
The service was also quiet and efficient. It was a great dining experience, and albeit somewhat expensive, we plan to come back for special occasion dinners. it was too cold to sit outside, but I believe that the outdoor seating experience in summer is probably also excellent! And the unrestricted view of the waterfront with no car noise provides an excellent dining location.
Our server (Adrien?) was exceptional. He and his assistants made you feel like you were the only diners in the restaurant and they catered to our every need.
Beautiful atmosphere and scenic view of the wharf. Food was excellent. Very accommodating. We showed up early and they were happy to seat us.
I took a group of colleagues to breakfast at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille. The food and service were excellent and it was nice to be able to chat comfortably among 7 people without any background noise.
Delicious food and amazing service. Only recommendation is to offer a few more dishes, menu was limited.
Excellent location, service was great. Food wasn’t that amazing, especially for the price. There was a mistake with my guest’s dessert, but they were nice enough comp both desserts, but it took longer for dessert than the entire meal.
All was fine and I would return again. Felt the halibut was perfectly cooked, but bland and then lost in the big plate of risotto which also did not have a distinctive taste. Soup was good and waitress recommended a smaller portion which pleased my guest from New York. Ambience for visit to Boston was perfect. perfect for her for Boston.
When we first got there we were not welcomed/waited on for 20 minutes or so until I went up to the host to let them know, even after that our service was lacking as we had 3 different people waiting on us. The food was good, but when you are eating at this type of restaurant it is the top-notch service that makes it worth it and we just did not experience that.
Food was delicious. Service attentive with good drinks. Cozy restaurant
It was our 10th wedding anniversary. From the Hostess to our Server and everyone in between, we were made to feel very special and we were even surprised with a couple glasses of Champagne to toast our special occasion. The ambiance was beautiful and the outside porch had an amazing view. Very memorable and special experience!! Thank you!
While the scenery and ambiance were amazing, the actual food left a lot to be desired. We were originally ordering cocktails and appetizers only, which were good. We then decided to stay and order dinner. My husband ordered red snapper and I ordered the seafood pasta. Both dishes very pretty, but VERY bland and just not what I expect at this price point— not necessarily mind-blowing, but at the very least a tasty dish. Very disappointing.
Our "go to" place in Boston. If friends coming in, it's the best place to give them a great Boston experience.
We were there on a Sunday evening and it was quiet and not busy inside. I guess everyone wants to be dining outside and we were the only ones who wish to have a quiet setting for conversation! Both food and service were excellent. We were a party of seven and each enjoyed their respective favorite kind of fish. We had the seafood tower, calamari and tuna for appetizers. For entrees we had the cod, swordfish, snapper and halibut. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by how fresh and tasty everything was. We will definitely come back again
Excellent food, very good service, lovely location for my birthday dinner. We were disappointed in the wine list. We will return for dinner.
Excellent breakfast buffet!
Nice waterfront view with upscale seafood.
Outstanding service and food. Would definitely return and recommend.
We came here for a light lunch. We had the mussels, which were very flavorful. We sopped up every bit of the broth it was in. The soft shell crab was good, but certainly not the best I've had. It was a little small and a bit greasy. Not quite worth the price. I would come back here and try some of the entrees. The location is very nice.
An excellent experience, in every aspect. We arrived a bit early so we were able to have a drink and enjoy the beautiful view of Boston Harbor. It was a little too warm to dine outside so we were seated at a beautiful window table. One of our party is handicapped and the staff went out of their way to see to his comfort. Every employee from the ladies at the front desk to the servers and busmen were very friendly, highly knowledgeable and helpful.
The food was superb, served at proper temperatures, and delicious. One must try their Clam Chowder. To die for!
While this was not an inexpensive dining event, it truly was a dining experience. Kudos to all responsible for making this a great event for us.
I took my friend her for her birthday dinner - we rarely venture in town, but on Monday night of Labor Day weekend, I didn't think we would be fighting crowds, and I was right. It's one of my favorite venues on a summer night in the city. Getting seated outside was a bit disorganized, but worked out fine - not many diners there that night. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of harbor and boat views. I had my favorite lamb chop plate and it did not disappoint! I also had an heirloom tomato salad that was very tasty, although the tomatoes weren't quite up to par for this time of season. Kind of surprising because this is a quality restaurant but it was, afterall, the end of a busy holiday weekend. My friend had a lovely green salad, and the swordfish, which was delectable. We had a great time and lovely dinner. Would certainly recommend Rowe's Wharf Sea Grill.
