We were there on a Sunday evening and it was quiet and not busy inside. I guess everyone wants to be dining outside and we were the only ones who wish to have a quiet setting for conversation! Both food and service were excellent. We were a party of seven and each enjoyed their respective favorite kind of fish. We had the seafood tower, calamari and tuna for appetizers. For entrees we had the cod, swordfish, snapper and halibut. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by how fresh and tasty everything was. We will definitely come back again
Excellent food, very good service, lovely location for my birthday dinner. We were disappointed in the wine list. We will return for dinner.
Excellent breakfast buffet!
Outstanding service and food. Would definitely return and recommend.
We came here for a light lunch. We had the mussels, which were very flavorful. We sopped up every bit of the broth it was in. The soft shell crab was good, but certainly not the best I've had. It was a little small and a bit greasy. Not quite worth the price. I would come back here and try some of the entrees. The location is very nice.
An excellent experience, in every aspect. We arrived a bit early so we were able to have a drink and enjoy the beautiful view of Boston Harbor. It was a little too warm to dine outside so we were seated at a beautiful window table. One of our party is handicapped and the staff went out of their way to see to his comfort. Every employee from the ladies at the front desk to the servers and busmen were very friendly, highly knowledgeable and helpful.
The food was superb, served at proper temperatures, and delicious. One must try their Clam Chowder. To die for!
While this was not an inexpensive dining event, it truly was a dining experience. Kudos to all responsible for making this a great event for us.
I took my friend her for her birthday dinner - we rarely venture in town, but on Monday night of Labor Day weekend, I didn't think we would be fighting crowds, and I was right. It's one of my favorite venues on a summer night in the city. Getting seated outside was a bit disorganized, but worked out fine - not many diners there that night. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of harbor and boat views. I had my favorite lamb chop plate and it did not disappoint! I also had an heirloom tomato salad that was very tasty, although the tomatoes weren't quite up to par for this time of season. Kind of surprising because this is a quality restaurant but it was, afterall, the end of a busy holiday weekend. My friend had a lovely green salad, and the swordfish, which was delectable. We had a great time and lovely dinner. Would certainly recommend Rowe's Wharf Sea Grill.
Swordfish was bland. Steak was mediocre. Service and ambiance very good.
Nice setting and views of Boston Harbor; excellent seafood; attentive service.
Wait staff was very very good ! Very helpful with explaining the menu selections. Came round often to check if everything was right.
Food was very good. Had the Tuna and Salmon Poke. Very tasty.
There was a Blues Band playing just outside the restaurant area making the atmosphere wonderful.
Live the location. Picked a bad night. Both Dell and Volvo were having events. Really busy. Also didn’t really like the location of our table. I kept getting bumped every time people walked behind me.
Ambience was nice but unfortunately our salmon was dry, the halibut did not have any flavor. Very disappointed in the product, especially for the price tag.
My wife ordered lemon sole. It was very dry and over cooked. I had a rib eye steak. While this cut does come with some fat, my steak had a six ounce clump of fat at one end. Not the expected quality for a $40 steak.
The ambiance was great but the food was very disappointing.
I ate here twice during my most recent visit to Boston, and the experiences were fantastic both times.
The first time was a late-afternoon meal with my daughter, and the second was a dinner with my daughter and some friends. The first meal was inside: service was fantastic, the food came out in a timely fashion and was delicious. The second meal was outside: service was fantastic, the food came out in a timely fashion and was warm and delicious. The selection of beverages was great, both for kids and adults. Our servers in both cases had a wonderful manner and engaged with my daughter well.
All in all, I love this place and will continue to return whenever I am in Boston.
As a place to celebrate a special anniversary, it couldn't have been better. We got a table for two overlooking Rowe's wharf, and enjoyed watching watercraft crisscrossing the harbor, and savored the oncoming evening. I had some very good oysters to start, then we had the pan-roasted halibut, which was cooked perfectly. Both the thinly sliced cucumbers and saffron risotto were also delicious. A well-considered wine list, though not extensive, was much appreciated.
The food was just ok, for the price I would have expected better ($20 for a turkey club), had a reservation at 2:00 and we weren't seated until 2:30 even though there were empty tables. The waiter (Jaison I think his name was) was really the only bright spot of the lunch
I dined here with my Dad and sister.
My Dad had the swordfish, Lisa had the fish sandwich and I had the seared scallops.
All of our meals were delicious!
The service was great!
The view of the waterfront is beautiful!
It was a lovely location to enjoy lunch!
Love the live music. Here several times for live music.
We had a mediocre time at this restaurant. I ordered the Halibut and they had to remake it twice. Super dry; not flavorful. Was dissatisfied with the second attempt and the managers’s only offer was to have it remade a third time. We have two small children so this was a no go. It was also disappointing that I hasn’t offered a appetizer while I watched my family eat. My daughter was also unhappy with the kids burger. Very dry and tasteless. No wonder the place was nearly empty. We had to stop by a nearby restaurant afterwards to pick up something else for her to eat. There are so many options in this area with a seaside view that would be a better use of your time and money. Avoid.
Hesitated on recommendation we got to go there since it was in a hotel, but food and service was outstanding. Great view if outside on patio or near windows.
Made an OPEN TABLE reservation a few days ahead since there was a lot of activity in Boston the 17th thru 21 of August and wanted to eat by the waterfront. We could have gone anywhere but there was a mystique about the Sea Grille that drew me back to college days but I couldn't remember why and made the reservation anyway. Unfortunately, we didn't expect the temperature drop & requested a setting inside for the 6 of us. That's where it started to go wrong. We were seated by the kitchen swing door and the indoor seating (for 6) was too far from the waterfront and what happens is, you are viewing over the outdoor dining area and customers. The food wasn't that great, tried the chowder but it was cold, few clams, too much flour. Ordered two seafood dishes at $31 each for my wife & I . We were pleased with the portion size but the cheesy risotto was cold and unflattering for the piece of halibut. Brought it home along with 1/2 of my wife's plate to eat as leftovers. They were better the second day. One of the other couples were vegetarians and had very limited choices. Would not go again. The price and overall experience was less than expected. So much for the mystique being fulfilled. The servers did bring over a nice birthday dessert "on the house" with berries and sorbet that we all enjoyed immensely.
Service was slow for a business lunch. Pesto mozzarella sandwich says it comes with vine ripened tomatoes but it actually doesn’t. Food is ok but overpriced. Pay for the view and ambiance.
The scallops were great. The tomato mozzarella sandwich was soggy and not tasty. It’s the 2nd time I’ve had it and I’ve been disappointed both times. I have it a 2nd chance but won’t give it a 3rd. Great shaded patio for outside dining even in the heat.
The outdoor patio at Sea Grille is a summer favorite and perfect for business dining. The food is delicious, although portions could be bigger. Lovely décor and ambience, always reliable.
A wonderful restaurant with great food, service and view.
We were looking forward to dinner at Rowes Wharf after a friend made the recommendation. The room is beautiful (and it was raining) and the view was terrific of the harbor. That was the best part of the meal. The food was nicely presented, but most everything was underseasoned and mediocre. The clam chowder was very bland. While the preparations were healthy, there should have been more significant use of seasonings (or sauce options even for the grilled fish). We wanted to have a nice seafood dinner near the water, but we get better at home (though we cannot get that view).
I had low expectations when our reservation wasn't ready but the hostess was apologetic and very accomodating. Once seated (about 45 min late) the service (Adrian) was excellent and the food was very good. Soft shell crab (double appetizer order as an entree) was reported to be excellent. Halibut on risotto was very good and swordfish was reported to be very good. Price was very reasonable at approx $50pp all-in.
Wonderful selection of seafood dishes and wines to pair. The staff is first class and very attentive.
Excellent atmosphere and outdoor dining & entertainment. Food was excellent! Would have liked a little better view of the harbor and city, but the boats on the water were nice. Definitely will return when back in Boston.
Was subpar. When we arrived the hostess told us that there were two large parties they weren’t expecting. So even though we booked a reservation they asked us to wait 20+ mins to be seated. We said we’d be happy to sit at one of the many empty tables and order drinks and delay our food order to let the kitchen catch up. It took the hostess three trips to her manager to get that ok’d. The waitress seemed to smooth out the process but then closed us out without telling us the bar was closing and we couldn’t get our last drink (silly considering it was 1030 and that’s how restaurants make the most markup). Very bizarre experience. Inexperienced staff. Between that and all the construction there was just a lot left to be desired. Will go elsewhere for waterfront dining and overpriced salads next time.
Beautiful outdoor seating, with even some shade on a hot day. The fresh cod was outstanding and the service was attentive. It was a pleasant locale for a summer business lunch/
Very pleasant lunch ( salads) with harbor view. Food and service both very good. Would recommend although disappointed hotel does not offer a lack brunch
Reserved a table for two to watch the summer evening movie, but wasn't seated outside even though there was clearly an open table. Learned that you need to get a reservation at a completely different place to guarantee seating for the evening entertainment.
Very nice place and food .
After a long drive from New York it was s perfect meal! Staff was friendly and attentive. Beautiful atmosphere
Go for the big bowl of Sangria!!!
Good food and service and the location is outstanding!
The food was excellent. The service was attentive but not over bearing. We sat inside at a window and enjoyed the view.
Love to dine here in the summer. If you get Adrian as a waiter, you won't be disappointed!
