As with most middling restaurants the appetizers are the high point the arancini, ok and Burrata excellent. Then the decent - a Caesar's salad had croutons that tasted like turkey stuffing, a dressing without a hint of lemon but a strong taste of mayonnaise and anchovies of the washed up on the beach variety that makes people hate anchovies. I had a seafood ravioli in an absolutely terrible cream sauce and my partner's prime rib was awash with an insipid blue cheese smear. The wine a curiously tasteless $95 Brunello that made you long for a California anything at a reasonable price. Of course it was Valentine's day which should have been an opportunity to show what the kitchen could do. I guess it did. Volturno in Worcester is far better.
My family had been a big fan of Chef Chris Rovezzi from a past Worcester's Best Chef Competition. Our first restaurant experience was outstanding; from the appetizer to the dessert, simply amazing. This past Friday night we went back and at first, I found the valet staff to be rude; the walkway was barely shoveled and extremely slippery. Our waitress was friendly, but the food was bland at best, having ordered the same appetizers that had previously been so delicious. Our main courses were quite flavorless. For the prices they charge, I have to say we were extremely disappointed this time around, Chef Chris. I don't know if you were on vacation, and had another man in your kitchen, but we were a pair of dissatisfied customers.
The soft lighting and quiet atmosphere upstairs were perfect for a romantic dinner for two. The soup, salads and entrees were delicious. The service was a little slow. Our desserts were a long time in coming. So much so that our cappuccinos were lukewarm and my cake was a bit dry. Other than that, it was a totally enjoyable experience and we will definitely return.
I frequently visit this fantastic restaurant and I have never had a bad meal or experience. You can't go wrong no matter what you come for; special occasion, date night, appetizers and drinks etc.. Love the atmosphere ! You never feel rushed and servers are always very knowledgeable. Food is delicious, the menu changes seasonally, HOMEMADE pasta and they always have the freshest, local ingredients. Best restaurant in town !
Great mix of flavors and variety in the selections at Rovezzi's. But each time I go there I wonder why the entrees are never served "hot" but only lukewarm......
Enjoyed a nice quiet evening with my husband as one of our last date nights pre-baby. Staff was very friendly and observant, ensuring that my water glass was always full, accomodating food requests and ensuring empty plates were removed in a timely manner. I chose my typical meal of lobster tortolloni which arrived with jumbo shrimp and perfectly cookes scallops and my husband went for a BBQ filet on special which was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful yet not overpowering flavor.
Worked out to be perfect family rendezvous between Springfield and Boston. Food was fantastic and service perfectly timed.
Fantastic food and well trained staff!
Brought my husband here for a birthday dinner. Loved the valet parking, the atmosphere, old wooden beam-style architecture, and even the bottle of Pellegrino waiting on the table. The complementary bread served was delicious, as was the caprese salad I ordered. However, I felt the menu was a bit small and I wished there were more vegetarian options on the menu. My husband ordered the filet and was pleased with it and the sweet potato that came with it.Overall, we were pleased and wold return again to try new items on the menu.
Nice place for a date or date night, friendly from the moment you walk towards the doors. Great wine selection, along with dinner specials and the menu is outstanding! Service was good for us, but in the friendly atmosphere, was made aware not so great with the people next to us?? Oh well, cant please everyone all the time.
Reservations were easily made - and altered to add more people. Were seated immediately. Food was FANTASTIC! We had lasagna, fettucinin (with lobster, crab, scallops,) duck, and sea bass. All were excellent. Service was fast and friendly. A little pricey, but the food was well worth it. Even the bread was something to write home about. Would highly recommend thias place. Would be lovely for a romantic evening.
excellent dinner - great new selections on menu
The food was outstanding! They had something on the appetizer menu called "in the hands of the chef". Not even the waitress knows what it will be until they bring it out and if you order two it will be something different! They also had the best bread ever! I'm not huge on bread but there's was amazing.
A New Year's Eve hit! The new menu was terrific with a wonderful variety that had something for everyone and dishes were paired with wine suggestions to make ordering the right wine easy. The bartender mixed a great drink and the expanded bar was really hopping. Service was friendly and attentive. The evening was a huge success. Thank you Chris and staff. We'll be back very soon.
The food was very good. Traditional with a twist..
We were held up in traffic but accommodated without issue.
Bread was excellent
Arugula salad with nuts and pears wonderful
Tenderloin steak tender, delicious and cooked just as we requested
Dessert was a wonderful pumpkin cheesecake
We split the above between the two of us and felt like we had had the right amount of food. There was no problem with us splitting the meal.
We were all very pleased with the food and service.
We have been to Rovezzi's many times, and every visit has been superb. It is, by far, our favorite dinner restaurant in the greater Worcester area. The eggplant and chicken parm are the finest you will find anywhere.
I proposed to my girlfriend while we were there. The staff was amazing and although my now fiancé was too excited to eat, the food was outstanding ! Would definitely recommend this establishment to friends .
Had an outstanding dining experience this past Saturday night. This great restaurants wonderful ambience, attentive service, wonderful menu and consistently outstanding food makes this our # 1 favorite in the Sturbridge area! Try it ...you'll love it!
We went to celebrate my husbands birthday and as always our high expectations for this special evening were met and then some! As soon as we arrived we were shown to our table. Everyone was friendly and professional. Our water glasses were kept full at all times and the waitstaff never rushed us while we decided what to order or when we lingered over dinner. They made us feel as though we were their top priority. The food has always been consistently high quality and delicious and that night was no exception. No matter what dish you order, appetizer, entree or dessert you won't go wrong. The only small issue is the noise level. It can get a bit loud just from the number of people talking if a larger party is seated near you.
Everything from the drinks at the bar, to the food on the table, to the service - was truly an great experience. We went out to Sturbridge to impress our in-laws with a fabulous foodie find that we knew could not disappoint - and Rovezzi's food not only was amazing- they said they would go back on their next trip to our area. High praise for some pretty discerning food lovers. A special thanks to our waitress who put up with all my mother in-laws "special needs" Alex graciously took on her challenge to make her something for a vegan diabetic. The chef did an amazing job and she ate every last bite on her dinner plate. I was so happy and impressed. A great dining experience.
Great overall, as usual...the food, the service, the ambiance, all outstanding.
The four of us each enjoyed the antipasto and all four meals. Three got beef, I got the swordfish and all delicious. We were sort of led into purchasing a bottle of wine we felt was expensive for the little bit you get but otherwise, wonderful dining experience.
We had a lovely dinner celebration Saturday evening. The drinks and apps were terrific. Main meal was very tasty and plentiful. 4 out our party of 6 went home with the take home bags. Our birthday guest received a personalized birthday card from the chef. Nice touch.
Our son lives in California and works for a company based in Boston. When he is in Boston for meetings we meet him at Rovezzi's for dinner because we live in the Berkshires, so we both drive part way. It is a special event because it happens rarely and Rovezzi's is part of what makes a great evening. The place is beautiful, the service attentive, and the food superb.
Outstanding! The bread pudding desert was unbelievable.
We dine here frequently. The food is always exceptional. The chef and owner Chris always takes pride in all he does. Glad he brought back the pumpkin martini. So delicious. The filet special is a fantastic choice and it literally melts in your mouth. I love the fall desserts. The pumpkin cheesecake was creamy and to die for.
My wife and I were looking for a romantic dinner. I saw Rovezzi's on line and booked a table. When we arrives we were greeted and were seated promptly. Our waitress introduced herself and took our drink order. We ordered an antipasto salad. There were, grilled veggies, cheese, tomatoes, olives, roasted peppers with garlic bread and dipping oil. All of the pasta is homemade. My wife had lasagna and I had pan seared scallops with ravioli. It was a great meal and we will return when we can.
For anyone that enjoys Italian food, Rovezzi's is a must!
We started off with their B.L.T Flatbread. Scrumptious! For dinner I had the Tortelloni Aragosta. It was absolutely wonderful. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! My date had the Pollo Parmigiano. I tried that too and it was of course, amazing. I was surprised at how much chicken came with it; two very large and thick fillets.Their pasta is home made every day and you can certainly taste the difference. We were too stuffed to order any dessert but I was brought a to-go container with a slice of pumpkin cheesecake topped with home made whipped cream, yummy crumbles, a strawberry, and a candle for me to light at home. It was amazing! Thank you so much Rovezzi's team!
Another amazing meal. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend trying the soup, as I stepped out of my norm, and LOVED it. Everyone in the party enjoyed their meals. The food is Fresh and Delicious every time.
Had reservation of 8pm on a Saturday and only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated, the hostess was very friendly. Our waitress was sweet and helpful.
We ordered the Rollatini Melanzane which was incredible, maybe it was too small because I could have had more and more; that's how great it was!
My boyfriend got the Gnocchi Tostato, it was delicious. But I ordered the Tortelloni Aragosta and that was hands down one of the best meals I've ever ordered.... anywhere. Ever.
We can't wait to go back!
I have heard great things about Rovezzi's for years but have never ventured out to Sturbridge, until now, to see and taste for myself. I hate when a resteraunt doesn't live up to it's billing. That is not a problem here! Rovezzi's exceeded my expectations and delivered a meal better than you could find in the North End! Appetizer, salad, entree and desert. All courses were delicious and prepared to perfection. If you like fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere then do yourself a favor and try Rovezzi's.
Food was great as always...And the Calamari "Fries" are definately a keeper!!!! Great decision to mix it up Chef Chris!
This was our third or fourth visit and we were happy to be able to bring some good friends with us to
This visit. The food was wonderful and my friends enjoyed it very much as well.
Everything was fresh and creative and the service was wonderful.
Never a disappointment!
With a late stop-over in Sturbridge on our drive to Portland, we were happy to come across this cozy little Italian restaurant. The delicious homemade pasta with fresh cheeses made my vegetarian lasagna taste absolutely delightful. And my husband's veal rolled with lobster meat was melt-in-your-mouth superb. This all starting off with a tasty roasted beet salad made with locally grown beets. We look forward to visiting again!
Everything was wonderful- great appetizers, excellent specials.
Everything we ordered was wonderful. The waitress was funny and accommodating. Excellent experience
We tried the green pea and marscapone ravioli with seared scallops and mushroom bacon cream, and the chicken parm. Both Fabulous. Service was excellent, and we look forward to returning again soon.
From start to finish, it was delicious. Fun choice of craft beers. Great chef's creation appetizer and tasty dinners...salmon, lobster stuffed tortellini, and veal. We shared two desserts. We have never had a less than delicious meal when dining here.
