Roux - Hilton Asheville
In 2016, Roux and the Hilton received the top annual food and beverage award for overall food experience out of 218 Hilton Hotels & Resorts in the Americas region. Roux is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, which features live music and drink specials.
Great cocktails, excellent entrees and desserts! We enjoyed our dinner very much.
We were a bit surprised the restaurant was practically empty, given it was a Saturday night. It didn’t, however, take long to discover why; the food was, at best average. We were both hungry but managed to eat only half our meal. Regarding the service: Our server must have been bored; he literally took over the conversation at our table. Given the above facts, unfortunately, Roux did not earn a “2nd trip” status for us.
We had a reservation for 1:30 on Sunday for their brunch. Upon arrival we found out the brunch ended at 1:30. The manager and staff kept the buffet open for us. Great level of customer service. Had a great meal.
Food was delicious and our server was very friendly, although could have been better about refilling waters. Definitely will be returning.
We ate the brunch buffet for Father's Day @ Roux. We enjoyed the selection of food and we ranked the food a 9 out of 10. The shrimp and grits were to die for. The roast beef was great. There quite a variety on the buffet. The chef at the omelet/pancake/waffle station was quick, friendly and the food he fixed for us was simply perfect. The pancake of the day was over the top good!
The staff on the phone when I made a reservation were very accommodating and attentive.
The manager came to check on us. He was a delight.
Our server was average. Although we were a large party I felt she did not earn a 20% tip and was not happy to serve us.
We will eat at Roux again. We would love to see what dinner tastes like.
We went for a Sunday brunch on Fathers Day. The variety of the food was great especially for the price. We particularly enjoyed the omelette and shrimp and Gris station. Our waitress was very friendly and gave helpful drink recommendations. Only complaint is the shrimp and grit station was not always manned. Would recommend and we will be back ourselves.
I was pleasantly surprised as a local that a hotel restaurant was this good. I really enjoyed the Buffet for Father's Day, it was also kid friendly too. Would have left 5 starts but It was a little odd when we got there and were told they were " Changing over to the Father's Day brunch" so we had to hang out of 15 minutes while they cleared tabled etc and there was no where for us to sit comfortably and it would have been nice to be offered coffee or a beverage while we waited. But overall a very good value for a beautiful brunch and friendly service.
The food was excellent! We didn't know it was in the lobby of the hotel so the ambiance isn't what it could be. I would recommend it again.

Good food, good service, and remarkably affordable. We did go for the oysters, and they were out. In future would call and check before going.

Service was friendly and generous. Our food was excellent. Quiet earlier in the evening and later got loud with two tables of 8+ who were having a lot of fun later on.
We attended their brunch on Easter. There were some discrepancies regarding cost and times from their website. The manager accommodated us and thanked us for pointing out the problem. Our server also helped us, was cheerful and professional. Every employee, from the hostess to omelet station cook, seemed happy to serve.
The salmon on the brunch bar was perfection! Crispy outside tender and juicy on the inside, with an amazing not-too-sweet glaze. Great shrimp & grits, and seared tuna Niçoise salad.
Although it was a hotel lobby brunch buffet, the setting was cozy, friendly, and quiet.
Highly recommend Roux when in Asheville!

Food was good, but not exceptional. Service was pretty slow. We waited 20-30 minutes for our entrees to arrive after ordering, and there were only two other tables seated. They seemed to be much more interested in serving patrons of the bar across the way, though it wasn't crowded either. After reading several glowing recommendations, we bit... but won't get fooled again.

Essentially in a hotel lobby - food good but not great, they had a $10 burger and beer special that was a good deal. They forgot our appetizer until after our entree but the server was lovely and didn't charge us for it, which is good service.
First time and nice experience. Ahi tuna was very good and toasted almond trout was “great” per my wife. Colton did a nice job too!

The Hilton allowed the regular breakfast seating up to the minute the brunch started, creating no open table space for groups that had made reservations for the 11:00 opening. There was a 30 minute wait for a makeshift table set up in the bar area. We were never offered coffee. The buffet food was good, but the staff was unable to keep the offerings stocked. For the money it was a good deal, but the service and preparedness were horrendous. The musician was a nice touch. If you are on any kind of timetable or appreciate good service, this is not your go to brunch!
The food is always excellent. But the nightcwe were there they were very understaffed and overwhelmed with the amount of people in the restaurant. We and several other large parties had made reservations, but there was not enough staff to accommodate in a timely manner.
We enjoyed our experience . Only hitch was , as first-timers ,we had to ask several questions and those in service seem short staffed at around 11:30 . Thanks , We will be back !
Despite the fact that we had a reservation, we waited almost 30 minutes to sit, watching people who came into the restaurant after us be sat before us. There was a large party that was sat with a reservation that they wasted an extra table on when they could’ve just pulled up an extra chair and sat people at that table. The hostess and another server were chatting with an old coworker who came in to see them and ignored us and another group when we came in and sat them before us despite the fact that they had no reservation. Our food was good, but not worth the wait.
I don’t know what I was thinking but I didn’t do my due diligence. This restaurant is in the Hilton Hotel lobby. Ambience not there for the birthday dinner I had planned. Food was ok. Chocolate cake was good. Waiter was super responsive but just overall not what I was thinking.
Had a reservation at 7 had to wait another 15 mins to get seated. Then waited an hour and a half and still didn’t get food we had to get up and leave. This was on Valentines night. Will never go back and will tell everyone not to go here EVER!!!
Valentines Day. Food was outstanding but kitchen was really backed up and slow. Highly recommend the mushroom soup appetizer. Really great As were the Salmon and trout entrees and grilled asparagus. Prices very reasonable.

Everything was great except the kitchen was very slow. our seating was at 6:30 and we didn't get our meal served till 8. Other than that my wife and I enjoyed the dinner very much. We expect to go back for brunch on Mother's Day.
Apparently we caught them on a bad night. We were told a cook quit and they were short staffed; on Valentines Day!!!
Saturday night crowd was pretty sparse but we enjoyed ourselves very much. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and smiling. I had the vegetable plate and loved it. My husband's pork loin was delicious. We plan to go back to try more things. Worth the trip since it's easy to find fun things to do in Biltmore Park and this food is very good!
Roux is a GREAT place for a social outing; after a movie ... or just to meet friends where you can eat well and HEAR your colleagues ...
This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.
I have never had a bad meal here! I would highly recommend it!

Six of us had reservations for 6:30pm on a Friday night. We were seated right away and drinks were brought. Appetizers were also brought in a timely manner. We had a nice, not rushed time with drinks and appetizers and the entree was served. Food was good. Mashed potatoes were overworked and gummy, and there were sweet potato peels in the sweet potato salad, but otherwise food was good. Nobody had dessert. Ambiance is OK, considering that you are virtually in the lobby. Still, I would return. It was a nice evening.

The service was excruciatingly slow. I think this was only because it was a holiday and there were only a few servers. Poor girl was running all over the place. For the prices they charge, I don't see how hard it would be to staff properly. Otherwise, great place to eat.
Friends enjoyed tuna, trout, pasta, and bread on New Year's Eve Eve. It was a liesurely dinner in a quiet atmosphere with a good waitress from South Alabama. Desserts were tasty as well. The prices were very good. We will be back!
We had a 6:45pm reservation for dinner at Roux and told the waitress when we sat down that we had a movie to catch at 8:15pm. She said the kitchen was backed up ( the restaurant was only 1/2 full)....and she would check with the Kitchen. She came back at 7:05 pm to tell us that we could not expect our meals for an hour....We would get our meals at 8:05pm giving us only 10 minutes to eat/pay/get to the theatre next door. She apologized saying they only had two chefs in the kitchen that evening.
We decided to leave and went to another restaurant nearby.
Wish I had read the one Star reviews first...If you do, I'll be you'll go somewhere else, too.
I had a reservation for 2 for 6:30. We were seated right away and there were only 2 or 3 other patrons in the restaurant. It took more than an hour to be served after ordering. I would hate to see how long we would have had to wait if the restaurant was busy!!!
