Roux at The Landau Ratings and Reviews
A really special evening. Everything about our evening at Roux at the Landau exceeded our expectations. The food was superlative, the Sommelier’s recommendations and advice complemented each course. The waiting staff were courteous polite and friendly. It was a wonderful experience and priced just right for such an evening.
It was a delight to visit, definitely we will be back.
Once again very pleased with the set menu choices and the wines available with it.
Food, as usual, was beautifully presented and very tasty.
Staff very pleasant and helpful - attentive without being noticeably so.
Relaxed atmosphere and good interval between courses.
Will undoubtedly be going again and am looking forward to doing so.
Thanks to all the staff for making lunch such a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record I am forced, yet again, to sing the praises of Roux at the Landau restaurant. The ambiance, the setting, the professionalism of the staff and, above all, the quality of the food are the reasons we try to visit as often as we can. I never single out any dishes in particular because a high quality restaurant should serve every dish cooked to the highest standard, both, in terms of taste and presentation. Roux at the Landau delivers on every level and so husband and I are yet again very grateful for being looked after so well. Thank you.
It was a lovely experience, the waiting staff were great, friendly and knowledgeable. Although the reception lady was not so friendly and kept is hanging around for a little too long for our table without advising us of the hold up, which is a shame for a first impression, but the waiting staff made up for this blip.
Food was varied and delicious, loved it and can't wait to return!
Roux at the Landau is my favourite restaurant and, as usual, I was not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant was much quieter than usual (it was a Monday lunchtime) which is the only reason I have not given five stars for ambience.
We had high expectations which were, on the whole, met. The set menu was good value at £80 per person. Each course was beautifully presented and very tasty. We had a small issue with the cheese course (not quite to our taste) and were offered free range of the cheese trolley to compensate (some really interesting cheeses there). Service was extremely good. I hope we'll return at some point.
All in all it was a good, without being great, experience. We are not habitual 'fine diners' and perhaps our expectations were too high, but at £59 per head for a set menu, why not?
The food was more than adequate without reaching the heights. The ambience was muted, at 2.00 pm the dining room was barely half full. The serving staff at the time were all male and some female staff on duty would have lightened the atmosphere.
From a detail perspective not being offered salted and unsalted butter was a pity and a selection of breads would have been welcome. Finally, selling us a bottle of still water at £6.50 plus 12.5% service charge, when jugs of tap water (presumably free) were clearly visible on other tables, should have made the ghost of Dick Turpin proud!
WOW what a place the staff are very friendly and highly skilled at their job,as for the food I tasted flavours on my visit that I didn't know existed , full marks to all the chefs. My only disappointment is knowing I can afford to go back again soon and taist that wounderfull food 😘
I’ve dined here 5 times. Each time has been an absolute delight. The staff are always very attentive but discreet. The food is sublime, I couldn’t possibly select a favourite dish. I’m already planning another visit for next spring. We moved from Hampshire to North Wales three years ago. Our three most recent visits have been day trips especially to enjoy a wonderful dining experience. Thank you for maintaining high standards across the board.
