Menu has many choices! Great salads! Bartender made a special martini for me!
We were celebrating with friends following my daughter's performance at Lincoln Center with her choir. I had a reservation for 10 people, but called to ask if we could add 2 and the staff were really accommodating. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, friendly and not too loud, which was great. The place was smaller than I expected, and I was glad, because I was afraid it might be cavernous and really noisy. We were able to have a great meal--the burgers are absolutely delicious--while visiting and chatting. The prices are good, the service was attentive without being overbearing and the "comfort food" menu has something for everyone. I highly recommend it.
The menu was totally different than the menu that is printed on OpenTable. But it was good and we really enjoyed it!
Was a perfect meal for me and my family. Good steak!
The menu listed online is different than the one at the restaurant! The calamari is amazing, highly recommend it! Drinks were ok. Service was fine. The place wasn't super busy but our server didn't come too often. We picked this place based on location. It was 2 blocks away from our AirBnb.
Literally blown away with the fish tacos!!
My husband had the short ribs on a bed of Parmesan mashed potato ..He LOVED IT!! I had the Salmon with chilli sauce..it was delicious!!
Bravo Rout 66!!
I'LL BE BACK
They were so nice and accommodating for a party of 8 for a birthday dinner. And so sweet to bring a dessert and sing “Happy Birthday” without asking! Lovely folks!
Always have a good meal here. I enjoy the mango salad which is excellent and my husband loves the burgers. Nice neighborhood restaurant.
We had a nice meal. Two of our party were late but the servers were very accommodating. Great for pre-theater, especially for NY City Center. Will return.
Had a great dinner!! The mango salad was excellent :)
My main issue with Route 66 is that I based my decision to dine here on the menu listed on Open Table: southern/Louisiana comfort food, a favourite of mine, and not something we regularly find on our side of the Hudson.
They had jambalaya. But the rest was diner/bar food like burgers, salads, and paninis with no real southern spin to them.
We ordered wings (granted, not bad), a pint each, and then wandered into Hell's Kitchen to find a more inspiring menu for our night out.
Lesson learned? Try to verify the menu before heading through the doors.
Pasta dish fettucini con pollo was very good, flavorful and arrived "hot"!
Owner/manager very helpful and involved
The food was good, if not a little overpriced (but what can you expect from the city). It took a few tries to get water and the check, and the outdoor tables are pretty cramped even for two people, but the street and the restaurant itself are nice and the food didn't take long at all to come out.
Route 66 is a decent plqce to go get beers with friends or to have finger food. Nothing special about it but it's an average okay quality place to have a quick bite.
Great happy hour!! Great food!!
My friend and I had theater tickets, about which we informed the server at the outset. Shortly after we sat down and even though we had a reservation, we were asked to move to another, smaller table to make room for a larger party. This table was in the path of the service staff and people kept bumping into the back of my chair. Following our move, the service was slow and we had to ask about our food more than once. We should have been offered free dessert or given a discount on our bill.
Check their menu online. The one on open table does not accurately reflect their actual menu and is less Cajun based more Americana.
The pork chop was probably the best I have ever had in a restaurant.
Just looking for a place close to 57th street to have dinner with "some meat" it was not so crowded, very friendly and great service.
Food was perfect and reasonable priced.
Certainly good to go there again
One of my favorite places to go have a burger.. you can never go wrong with the southwestern burger.. have it with multigrain bun and the taste is out of this world!! This is one of my favourite places to go and eat your heart out!!
it's fine but there is nothing special here. staff and food just average.
Live on the neighborhood and have seen this restaurant but never went in! So happy we did!! Great menu, affordable prices and great food!
Route 66 had a good mix of choices and plentiful portions. Nicely prepared burgers and fajitas. We would return.
Food and experience were adequate but the OpenTable menu is completely inaccurate. I would say 90% of the items on OpenTable do not appear at the restaurant. Basically it is an upscale diner
3rd trip to New York and have visited here each time .No hassle good food and good service .would recommend for all visitors.very relaxing after a busy touristy day
Route 66 is one of our absolute favorite Go-To places for so many different occasions!
We eat here at least once a week, and we love bringing family and friends here as well....the food, service, drinks, prices and atmosphere is great!
I highly recommend this restaurant.....especially if you live in the Midtown West, Hell's Kitchen, Columbus Circle area!!!!
The restaurant is small so it's crowded. There was one server who did everything from greet people to make drinks. Overall the service was fine and the food was good. It's definitely worth trying!
Our favorite local hangout with awesome food, a huge menu, incredible staff & service, comfortable ambience, and nice outdoor seating in the summer, plus awesome prices....we literally eat here at least once a week. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Route 66!!!
Great place, friendly staff and excellent for pre-concert eating at Terminal 5
It was a casual dining place close by my hotel. I also tried the breakfast and it was good as well.
Not outstanding but very good for the price.
Awesome! This is our Number 1 neighborhood restaurant....everything about Route 66 is Awesome....Awesome menu, Service, Food, Drinks, Price, Patio, etc....We always get our kicks at Route 66!
Soggy warm wraps were a disappointment. Restaurant is a mediocre diner at best, however, staff was friendly and accommodating.
Route 66 is our #1 favorite Local Restaurant to go to anytime! They have awesome food, awesome service, and it's a really great atmosphere...including they're patio in the summertime.
They're Happy Hour is fantastic as well. They make a Very Tasty Burger, perfectly cooked with scrumptious Fires....or the Pulled Pork is a total winner too!!!
Our waitress was so genuinely helpful, she actually managed to persuade the chef to prepare a dish we like but that is no longer on the menu. The staff couldn't be more welcoming.
This is one of our favorite neighborhood gems to hit anytime! They always cook the food perfectly, and the service is impeccable....Gabriella is AWESOME!!!!!
Plus, the prices are great, and it's got a huge menu too.
You can't get lost if you take Route 66!!!
We had a group of 10 people and they were extremely accommodating and great service. Would definitely recommend!
We picked this for its location near our parking garage. The pastrami sandwiches were piled super-high....a New York tradition, I think. Very good service. Noise level was a little high.
After a full day of tourist activities including a Pizza Tour in Brooklyn, we were looking for a quite restaurant near our hotel to grab some salads for dinner. We found Route 66 and were very pleased with tour dinners and the atmosphere. We will go back.
Short walk from Columbus Circle and Central Park West. Seated us early. Had Braised Pork special and Filet for meals. Very good comfort food. Had nice neighborhood feel.
