Route 66 Ratings and Reviews
The menu listed online is different than the one at the restaurant! The calamari is amazing, highly recommend it! Drinks were ok. Service was fine. The place wasn't super busy but our server didn't come too often. We picked this place based on location. It was 2 blocks away from our AirBnb.
My main issue with Route 66 is that I based my decision to dine here on the menu listed on Open Table: southern/Louisiana comfort food, a favourite of mine, and not something we regularly find on our side of the Hudson.
They had jambalaya. But the rest was diner/bar food like burgers, salads, and paninis with no real southern spin to them.
We ordered wings (granted, not bad), a pint each, and then wandered into Hell's Kitchen to find a more inspiring menu for our night out.
Lesson learned? Try to verify the menu before heading through the doors.
The food was good, if not a little overpriced (but what can you expect from the city). It took a few tries to get water and the check, and the outdoor tables are pretty cramped even for two people, but the street and the restaurant itself are nice and the food didn't take long at all to come out.
My friend and I had theater tickets, about which we informed the server at the outset. Shortly after we sat down and even though we had a reservation, we were asked to move to another, smaller table to make room for a larger party. This table was in the path of the service staff and people kept bumping into the back of my chair. Following our move, the service was slow and we had to ask about our food more than once. We should have been offered free dessert or given a discount on our bill.
Route 66 is one of our absolute favorite Go-To places for so many different occasions!
We eat here at least once a week, and we love bringing family and friends here as well....the food, service, drinks, prices and atmosphere is great!
I highly recommend this restaurant.....especially if you live in the Midtown West, Hell's Kitchen, Columbus Circle area!!!!
Route 66 is our #1 favorite Local Restaurant to go to anytime! They have awesome food, awesome service, and it's a really great atmosphere...including they're patio in the summertime.
They're Happy Hour is fantastic as well. They make a Very Tasty Burger, perfectly cooked with scrumptious Fires....or the Pulled Pork is a total winner too!!!
This is one of our favorite neighborhood gems to hit anytime! They always cook the food perfectly, and the service is impeccable....Gabriella is AWESOME!!!!!
Plus, the prices are great, and it's got a huge menu too.
You can't get lost if you take Route 66!!!
Route 66 had great food and outstanding service at this small restaurant nearby to the Theatre District and Columbus Circle. -- The sangria got some of us of to a delicious start and there was a selection of beers ... The menu is robust and there was a page of daily specials with a variety of options. Our party of six each had different selections and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. From southwest egg rolls to cilantro lime shrimp to soup and steak and coconut salmon we left in fine fiddle and look forward to visiting again soon.
