With unrivalled views of the Sawtooth Mountains and accessible only by gondola, the Roundhouse Restaurant has been serving up memorable meals, soul-warming drinks, and stunning views since 1939. Whether you are joining us for a relaxing lunch by the fireplace, or our signature 4-course prix-fixe dinner, Roundhouse offers the authentic charm of historic Sun Valley with a spectacular on-mountain dining experience.

Reservations are recommended for lunch and required for dinner at Roundhouse this winter, including Averell's bar. Lunch reservations require the purchase of a ski lift ticket or foot traffic pass to access the restaurant. For dinner, the signature 4-course prix-fixe experience includes gondola transportation.

Peak season dinner reservations require pre-payment and 10 days notice for cancellation. Lunch reservation no shows will be charged $25 per person.

Prices have gone up. We had a $26 salad that could fit in a teacup. Be sure to ask waiter portion size to order wisely. Lovely fine dining on the mountain. Love the roundhouse!

We wanted to have a special lunch for close to the end of the season. It was special to be with some family and friends. The service and fondue were great! I only wish Roundhouse was open more days and evenings during the ski season. It was very difficult to get a reservation this year.

This was a wonderful family experience. The kids skied and my husband and I rode the gondola up. We ate fondues along with sandwiches. Our waiter , Terry, was a lot of fun and had good advice on the fondues. Really nice and fun afternoon.

My husband and I visited Roundhouse for lunch during a recent trip to SV. My husband ordered and loved the Croque Monsieur with housemade chips and I had the Gravlox plate which as also excellent. We ate in the downstairs bar, so we expected it to be a lively group and it was. You can’t beat the incredible views from Roundhouse and the gondola ride up was really fun!

As always The Roundhouse is wonderful. We have been coming here for many years and it is so friendly and the food delicious! I had a fabulous Mimosa and the meals were all great. Our waiter was the best! Thank you for another amazing lunch!

It was extremely crowded & noisy. Service was great and food very good. It seemed a bit overpriced to us because there was no views and the atmosphere was not great. We were down on the bottom level after walking up a lot of stairs in our ski boots then back downstairs which felt like a basement bar

My wife had the ham and Swiss. I can’t remember the name, but it was really good with an egg on top. I had the pork chop and it was amazing as well. Our waiter was great. I wish I remembered his name, fun place to eat even though it was foggy on the day we were there.

Birthday celebration for granddaughter Lucked out and hit a bluebird day so the view was amazing. Waiter was very efficient and great personality. Food was very good and best coleslaw slaw ever!! Beautiful place and we got to sit by the fireplace and so was very comfortable. I only wish the gondola ride up had a discount…. Not even a senior or child discount or included would be nice! Fun experience but expensive!

An amazing experience on an fabulous mountaintop on a beautiful evening. The food was exceptional and abundant. The ambiance at this restaurant is so special. The central four-sided fireplace crackles and pops in the background and provides cozy warmth. The charcuterie starter showcased some special cheeses, olives, salami, lingonberry jam. Great pairings. We passed on the fantastic cheese fondue this time. The apple and beet salad was so delicious. Loved the buffalo short ribs!! A wonderful evening ended with the dessert charcuterie. Thank you to our outstanding waiter, Terry for making our romantic dinner so special.

The Roundhouse is an iconic landmark in Sun Valley and we had a great time going up the gondola for my wife’s birthday. Although we live here part time we’d never had dinner there. The whole evening was really nice, and the ambiance can’t be beat for a ski area dinner. I’d recommend going while the sun is still up for the views, which are incredible. But, - it’s a prix fixe dinner, $115 each, so by the time you’re done it’s $150 pp including a cocktail for each of us but not including any bottles of wine. That’s fine, but for that price the food should be quite a bit better. The charcuterie plate was good; the root vegetable soup was good but overly sweet; my bison short ribs (well, rib) was ok, but it was served with about 18 peas and a couple of meager carrot slivers; the Yorkshire pudding was ok, but pretty dry. Desert was a nice assortment of sweets but seemed mostly store-bought. TL:DR - Great setting, super fun experience, but the food was kind of average and not commensurate with the price.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Roundhouse. We did the fondue for two and shared a bottle of white burgundy. Cozy atmosphere, stunning views, great service. Highly recommended.

Every Roundhouse experience has been a real treat for us. This time we shared it with visiting friends who thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The only thing missing was the lamb burger, but the Wagyu burger did not disappoint!

We had a very delightful evening. Great service and a terrific vibe in the dining room. We added a fondue to our order; with the price fix meal and fondue we had more food than you could shake a stick and it was all good as well. The only real complaint was the size of the Buffalo Short Rib. Mind you, we were stuffed from the antipasto plate, salad, and fondue but it did strike us that the short rib portion was quite small. I had the beef tenderloin and it was a good portion, perfectly cooked and very good. By the time desert rolled around we were so full that we took it all home to eat the next day. Reservations are sometimes tough to get but our evening at the Roundhouse was a very nice experience.

Terry and Brian are consummate professionals. My experience is that they know the menu, the wine list and service! The Mother Earth & Apple and Beet Salad are superb compliments to the Fondue. Always a special place to dine and enjoy the majestic Idaho views!
