We had the tasting menu and loved it! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their evening out. We were celebrate a special occasion and the staff at Rouge were very accommodating.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our friends from Perth Australia loved it.
Typical good french restaurant. Expensive and fun. The way it should be. Portions on the light side but not tiny...Decent cellar. Service was on the informal side and enjoyably invisible for a romantic meal...
This was our first time to Rouge, but it had been on our radar from quite some time. It truly didn't disappoint. Food was great and the wine recommendation was spot on. Our waitress was quick witted and funny, which only added to the experience. Our only regret is that we've not gone sooner.
I have wanted to visit the rouge for years. I am so glad I did. They were so accommodating, despite having missed my reservation, they were still able to fit me in. It is truly an Inglewood gem. Food was amazing. I had a salad and a charcuterie tray to share, it was perfect. Highly recommend checking it out!
Fantastic Service, Staff, Food and Atmosphere! So worth the cost, my girlfriend and I will definitely be back! Our 13th anniversary was a night to remember!~
Consistently excellent. Nice quiet and classy atmosphere. Wonderful service. Friendly staff. It seems a bit pricy...until you eat the food, and every time I do, I remember why it is my favourite fine dining spot in Calgary. You get what you pay for!
Food was delicious, service was top notch, and the overall experience was one of the best I've had in Calgary. Food recommendations were on point and recommended wine paired very well. There were multiple little extra touches that made an anniversary dinner very memorable and special.
A fine evening at this lovely restaurant in an old historic home in Calgary's Inglewood district. We (but maybe not the restaurant) were fortunate to be there on a fairly quiet Sunday evening, with only a few other diners attending. Just right for easy conversation and a leisurely pace to dinner. We had the six-course tasting menu with wine pairings. The menu features local ingredients and the dishes were inventive and beautifully presented without being over-the-top. The bison tartar and pan-seared beef tenderloin were standouts. The wines paired with each dish were excellent matches and featured some out-of-the-ordinary selections that drew a lot of animated conversation from our group. Our server was pleasant, efficient, and relaxed. Not an inexpensive evening out, but great value for a fine dining experience when you're looking for one in Calgary.
Our experience at Rouge was the best. The service, the food (both quality and quantity), the wine, timing etc was amazing. All of the necessary bits combined to make for a wonderful dining experience.
Went to Rouge for a special date night, and boy did it deliver! It’s a very intimate/romantic setting, and our food was to die for. The service was outstanding, and they were able to easily accommodate my dietary restrictions (vegan) with ease, every step of the way (bread and dips, appetizers, entrees, dessert)! We will definitely be returning to Rouge for our next celebration/event.
Lovely restaurant, however, seating initially was an issue. We were first seated in a room with only two tables, one table had a nice view facing the window, ours seemed just stuck in the middle of the room right in line with the traffic from kitchen and the bar. The kitchen door kept swinging open-noisy, the bar station was noisy and you could clearly hear the fans in the kitchen blowing at a high pitch, we couldn't even hear the music because of the noise. I thought am I really going to be paying $150 plus for a meal for this atmosphere? No not today! I politely asked if we could be moved to another table, they did not hesitate and were very accommodating. We were swiftly moved to a nice quiet table with a view of the garden. After that we settled in and had a wonderful time! Food was great, service was great, dessert was fantastic and the ambience was very nice. I would recommend it to anyone. I would note to the owners that table (11), I believe they said, by the kitchen and bar be removed, it just doesn't work at all.
We would thoroughly recommend Rouge.
This was our second visit the first being ten years ago for our wedding reception.
As it was then so it is now.. Excellent!
The food was exeptional, my wife had the halibut and I the beef tenderloin both were cooked to perfection, and we were able to get Gluten free versions of items we couldn't eat.
Rouge has a great selection of drinks and they made an off menu Martini for my wife.
Taylor our server was a Gem, very knowledgeable, professional and friendly, and the happy anniversary card signed by the staff was a nice touch.
The ambience was perfect, the restaurant was very busy but the room we were in was nice and quiet it felt as though we had the place to ourselves!
We were an hour early but we never felt rushed at all, we spent 3 1/2 hours there in complete comfort and had a great evening.
We won't be waiting 10 years for our next visit.
My wife and I celebrated our 2 year Anniversary at Rouge. We had a very nice time.
The food was very good and the service was great.
My only fault was the price, I have had the same quality of food and service at other restaurants for 30% less, and for this reason I will not likely be going back.
The food was absolutely delicious. We all started with a salad with buttermilk dressing, which would have been ordinary if not for the pickled cucumber, which added an excellent piquancy. I and another guest had the duck for entree. It was fabulous, and I definitely recommend this - I'd have it again. Another member of our party had the lamb, and found it equally fine. We did not have dessert, as nothing on the menu appealed, and we were quite full. We did have coffee and expresso. The latter was felt to be a little too bitter. Coffee was good, though. While the food was top notch, the service, though competent, was a bit lacking in attentiveness.
Excellent service, great food, awesome wine list. Will go back for sure.
We went for our anniversary and the food was amazing as always. I had duck and he had lamb. It was delicious.
As always, an excellent choice for a get together. Lovely food, often with vegetables and flowers from their own garden. Fresh, innovative menu and food preparation. Great attentive service and recommendations. Easy to have conversations. Well appointed decor. Will always return here for a consistently great meal.
Food was excellent. Not enough variety, such as chicken. Portions to small.
I don't have words to describe both the place as well as the food. It's fantastic. Not cheap, but incredibly good, tasty, great service, quality food.
We celebrated our anniversary with lunch at the Rouge. The food was great accompanied by the usual good service one would expect from the Rouge. We started with some homemade bread then salads followed by fish and chips for one of us and roasted pork loin for the other. The food was well prepared and creatively presented. Our server was engaging and helpful. We mentioned that we were in no hurry and lunch proceeded at a leisurely pace. Our only disappointment was that we could not sit outside in the wonderful garden at Rouge as it was a bit cool that day.
We went to celebrate our 14th anniversary and were given a card from the staff to acknowledge our special day. Staff were professioal, polite & helpful. Food was amazing in presentation and taste. Quiet atmosphere with unique ambiance. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
We had an amazing anniversary dinner at The Rouge.
This was my first time to Rouge during the summer. I loved walking around the gardens while I waited for my food. The food was just as amazing as the other times I have been. This food is crafted with love. However I was very disappointed that I had to ask to have my empty plate to be removed after a 10 minute wait. The flies were surrounding us. It was an even longer wait for the bill. Still, it was a tremendous night out.
The setting is beautiful. The farm to table garden was really gorgeous but the food was definitely overpriced. Not worth the money at all.
Outstanding in every regard. From the reception to the departure. Attentive, informative, helpful, accommodating and unobtrusive. It’s a dining experience that is on of the very best.
Amazing as per usual for Calgary’s best restaurant.
Food was fantastic and the seating in the backyard area made for a very relaxing meal. Highly recommended!
We had a great time! We really enjoyed our food, the steak was amazing. The waiter was nice but I was surprised that we weren't treated in more of a congratulatory way (we were just married and celebrating). I thought we might get a glass of champagne or something but we barely saw the waiter. Also a surprise that my husband's martini was pretty watery. The scotch and wine were delicious though!!
Overall nice atmosphere, exceptional staff and food was outstanding!
Excellent service & selection of food in a quite outdoor setting
Very disappointed. I have been going there to celebrate my birthday for 6 years. Not again.
We had an incredible dining experience over Stampede. One thing we found was lacking at almost every place we’d dined during Stampede week was good service. Not at Rouge! Our server was knowledgeable, prompt and extremely professional.
Our garden view patio table was comfortable and relaxing despite the business and chaos Stampede week seems to inflict on the rest of the city. It was the perfect reprieve before putting our cowboy boots and hats back on.
This place offers an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone, whether you are visiting Calgary (like us) or just wanting a day/night out.
Excellent food and service. I requested a special favourite birthday dessert and they didn’t disappoint ... added touch of a birthday card signed by all the staff was appreciated
Very good as usual
Lovely garden to spend a warm summers evening
Tasting menu June 2018. Was fantastic. Kept getting better and better. Highlight for me was the beef main and the cheese crepe (my wife said maybe the best dessert she's ever had and I would agree).
Went for our wedding anniversary- lovely ambience, beautifully presented and delicious food, and great service.
We made great choices for lunch (soup and salad) and added a glass of wine. We were not paying attention to prices necessarily but were very surprised at how expensive the bill was for lunch. Perhaps pricing better suited to special occasions not an everyday place
Fantastic experience, with the exception of some loud tables. This is not a negative on the restaurant, it is the customers that should have been more mindful. I'm sure next experience will be better!
Great as always. Food and service was fantastic. Never had a really bad experience here.
