We ate dinner early because of a 7:30 show. As the restaurant was not yet full, service was quick and noise was low; and because of the warm weather, the windows onto the street were open. All of this was very pleasant. The food was excellent (the scallops with pork belly were unusual and delicious).

I love having lunch at Rouge. It is the closest thing in Philadelphia to the café culture of say - Rome or Paris. Once a seriously hip joint, it has matured into a very pleasant restaurant. I have frequently extolled people of its past and then said the food is good enough to have survived on its own. Rouge is a great place for a business lunch. But even better as a spot to grab a table on the street overlooking the park - get a drink or two - and not go back to work.

The food was poor quality and expensive. I was unpleasantly surprised when I walked in and the hostess was wearing a crop top. Not impressed with this restaurant.

Food was delicious - especially the salmon (entree)and brussel sprouts (appetizer)! Our waiter was awesome - attentive and personable and also let us have lots of time at the table just to chat. It was lovely having the windows to the street open. The restaurant did get a little too warm towards the end of the evening but other than that it was great!

I heard a lot about Rouge but after finally having dinner here with a friend, I was a little disappointed. The mussels were not seasoned well, but my entree was better. My dinner partner did like her meal, but our overall experience wasn't what we thought it would be. I guess we should have had a burger.

Cozy and pretty space, with good sidewalk tables, very good food, really nice service. I'm in town for business, didn't want to eat at the hotel and this was a near by Open Table recommendation. I'm glad I went. BTW, the tuna tartare was as good as the waitress suggested.

Wasn't in love with our server and the burger was over cooked. Salmon dish was amazing. Probably Would go back but I would sit at the bar and not get table service.

Great burger. Pasta was undercooked with big clumps of pasta clinging together. Sauce and shrimp were good. Wine was expensive, one glass just a little less than my pasta. Good fries. When bar cleared out a bit the noise level decreased significantly. We ate inside, no room outside but looked like a better choice.

We hadn't eaten at Rouge for at least 2 years (for accesssibilty reasons), and wow, the food was not anywhere close to what it used to be. We shared a number of appetizers and small plates - everything was lukewarm and bland. That being said, we didn't have the burger, which always was tried and true in the past. Hopefully that is still good. The atmosphere was still lovely , and the service was friendly and prompt - but the other 2 restaurants on the same block of 18th Street are head and shoulders above foodwise...

This is my first "ahh" review. First, we hit Rouge on a February evening with temperatures in the mid 60's. The feeling was alive and with that came a noise level above what we normally encounter in a busy restaurant. Yes, in mid February, in Philadelphia, the doors were open and sidewalk dining was in play. Go figure.

I've read about the burgers at Rouge so my choice was right to a piece of red meat. The burger was not as good as I hoped. The service was top notch even with a full house. The appetizer's were very good and set the pallet for what was to come. My wife had the scallops and she enjoyed her main course. I had the burger with the pork belly and like I said the burger was average.

The service as I mentioned was great. The atmosphere is great in Rouge with ample seating, plenty of space to relax and a nice small bar for quick access to drinks. I'd recommend the place for anyone wanting a good local fare after a show but I will not be raving about the burgers.

This was our second time at Rouge. It's a lovely place with a small but interesting menu, a nice bar, and a good wine list. It's an altogether pleasant place for either lunch or dinner.

I started off with tuna tartar and calamari and it was so delicious. Then I ordered the special lobster fra diavlo as well as the scallops entre. I enjoyed all of it and ate everything. 10/10 and going to go back for sure in the future. Highly recommend.

Our experience was superb. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection with a flavorful blue cheese. Presentation was inviting and the service was friendly and respectful. We will return. The setting is elegantly casual and suits the professional crowd.

I made reservations for my husbands birthday however the host told us he couldn't seat us because the kitchen was closed. We have been there many times, at the same time, and the kitchen has always been open. We went to Alma de Cuba and had an amazing dinner.

First off, the food was, as always, wonderful. We ordered the duck salad for the first time and even though we are both Rouge burger fans, I have to admit the salad just blew us away. It was, ina word, perfect. But really it was the service that once again impressed us. We went on an unusually warm night for January...where they had the windows to the sidewalk open. Our hostess let us sit at one of the larger tables right by the window even though there was only two of us. And our waitress(and I am so sorry I did not quite catch her name) was absolutely delightful and just the right amount of attentive, stopping by it seemed magically at just the right times. I have been to Rouge several times, during different times of the day, and it always, always is a great experience. I don't even hesitate a second in recommending it to family and friends and strangers, even!

We went to Rouge because we love their famous burger. My husband ordered that and it came out overdone in a huge hunk of tasteless meat. We were shocked. I ordered the tuna tartare and had the server ensure there were no raw onions in the dish. It came out with some type of onion and extremely spicy. It was inedible. The server was gracious about it and proactively took it off the bill which was nice and unexpected. Otherwise though we are not returning to Rouge.
