One of my sons and I spent the weekend together in “The City”. I made a reservation for a Sunday lunch prior to leaving for home. Having been here before a few times I told him we “had to go for the roast chicken”.
The Roast Chicken for two, with seared foi gras, haricots verts, pommel frittes , and a mixed green salad is the go to best in town!
Kim, the sommelier was most helpful and attentive and suggested the perfect burgundy to complete our meal. She is the consumatte professional!
Hats off to this cozy, friendly east side gem!!
We will be back!!
The food was ordinary and nothing special for the price charged and the NOISE was unbearable. So unbearable that we forwent coffee to leave early. Never to return!!!
Always a pleasure to have wonderful food in a pleasant space with a quality menu shared with friends.
Gorgeous hidden gem in the Upper East Side - great ambience, delicious food, wonderful decor...attention to details some of the best I have seen for awhile. Highly recommend !!
This might not be the best choice for brunch.
Brunch choices were limited (scrambled eggs--really?)
Where were the crepes, the waffles, the creative
This restaurant is a dinner place, I guess
We have dined at Rotisserie Georgette many times and always recommend it to out of town friends. No more. The service was abysmal. The servers were indifferent, at best, rude at worst. We waited approximately 1 and 1/2 hours for our entrees - 3 different staff said, about 15 minutes apart, “it’s coming right out”. The maître d’s involvement made no difference. When the entrees arrived, the chicken was fine, the sides were meager and not nearly as good as previously. (The menu has changed not for the better, eg duck no longer available for one person, only two.) A complimentary small plate of cookies, followed almost immediately by the check we didn’t ask for, didn’t change our view of the evening. We were embarrassed to have brought our friends.
Wonderful food!! Great service!!! Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Arrived and there was no one to greet us.
Georgette pulled all the stops for my Daughter’s birthday and it was a hit. Absolutely fantastic staff and management. Can’t recommend enough
Love this restaurant! Great simple menu. Very warm atmosphere!
The chicken is always great, and now that it's spring, take advantages of the fresh, light asparagus specials.
The reception from Georgette was genuine and friendly. The ambiance is outstanding and the food was quite tasty. I even enjoyed sitting at the bar for a drink in advance of our meal. Also, the wine selection is excellent. The restaurant is a beautiful space and one to which I am eager to return.
This was our first visit to Rotisserie Georgette and we could not have been happier with our experience. The staff offered a high level of personal attention, starting at the front door and continuing from there; the dining room is beautiful and the food is delicious. We came for a special occasion and dessert arrived with a very dramatic version of a sparkler which will be an abiding memory. This is a lovely, gracious restaurant and we will definitely return.
ROTISSERIE GEORGETTE is an excellent and professionally run Upscale Restaurant and one of our favorites in New York City —-it is overseen and supervised by the very personable owner Georgette—- The duck is always one of our favored dishes as it is fresh and the portions are ample —-excellent wine list and overall the service is impeccable and the ambience warm and welcoming.
Always top shelf service and food
Excellent food and service. Wine list is outstanding. Sommelier was very pleasant and helpful. Great atmosphere.
Passover meal was excellent!
I absolutely love Rotisserie Georgette! I have been dining there since it opened years ago, it has been my go to for birthday lunch and dinners for my friends. The food never fails to be short of delicious and the staff are very kind, warm and welcoming. Not what you would expect from an UES French restaurant. The decor is chic and classy. The ambiance is buzzing.
If you've got money to burn, this place is fine, and midtown location is convenient. This place is overpriced in general. White asparagus appetizer was heavenly but $38 for FOUR large stalks is absurd. I am sorry the say the roast chicken for 2--which should be outstanding, as it is a signature dish here, and not cheap at $38 per person with no sides/ accompaniments-- was dry and overcooked. My friend spotted cooked chickens being thrown on a grate for reheating in the kitchen before being served. The roasted duck for 2 was outstanding and a much better value-- plenty of meat on that duck! Potatoes/ sides were great. The nonalcoholic cocktail they served was amazing, basically 100% berries. Wine/ bar selection seemed good, I don't drink so I am not an authority. Drinkers at table seemed satisfied. Desserts were pretty good. Waitstaff was wonderful!!! Cute place but EXTREMELY loud. Like, ear-splitting.
Good food but won’t go back. After ordering a martini,a $135 bottle of wine, and an appetizer, we were asked by our server if we were going to “order more food or go straight to dessert”. Insulting service always ruins the dinner, no matter how good the food is.
Loved it so much! The half chicken was juicy and delicious, and the french fries were crispy. The staff was so courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend you to my friends! I had a friend visiting from Vancouver and she loved it! Thanks for making her birthday celebration a huge success!
La comida y la atención fueron muy buenas
We really love this restaurant. Georgette is a wonderful hostess! The restaurant is beautiful and calming. Always looking forward to the new menu items per season and happy that I can always count on the best chicken in the city.
I ❤️ Rotisserie Georgette! Everything about it. Including Georgette and Melissa and each and every one. If only we lived closer!
Beautiful and delicious.
There were way too many items on the menu that I wanted to try. We ordered a lot of food but everything was wonderful. The ambiance was lovely and we weren't rushed for the table back so we lingered with coffees and dessert. It was a great experience altogether and I have already told many people about it. I will definitely be back!
As usual dining at Rotisserie Georgette was special, many thanks to Georgette and her staff for creating a venue where food such as "Poule de Luxe" is esquisite and where services is special, Georgette being around and lokking at her guest to ensure that they are enjoing their time .
We are at Rotisserie Georgette last year and loved it then. We decided to take some friends there, and it was disappointing. We ordered the duck for two, which we absolutely loved last time, and our fronds ordered the pintade. Both dishes were so undercooked that we had to send them back. Very surprising! Additionally the dick simply was not as flavorful as last time.
In particular the charming eponymous Georgette, a gracious hostess. Try the duck.
We had such and amazing dinner at Rotisserie Georgette! Everything was perfect!
Delicious food, fabulous service, great atmosphere, what could be better?
I have been several times in the past and found it to have gone downhill. The room, ambiance and service well all still good, but the food was quite sub-par. There was way too much salt in everything (a cheat to improve flavor of poor ingredients or bad cooking); the french fries were mushy; the asparagus (featured as 'in season' on the menu) were fat and slimy and did not seem fresh or special in any way.
Overall, the meal was a disappointment and also very expensive.
Dear XYZ, I thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am deeply concerned by the issues you mention, as nothing is more important to me than serving you a consistent quality of ingredients and cooking. I will take your comments to heart to address and correct each point. I do sincerely hope you will return so that I may serve you the caliber of cuisine you should expect from us. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly so I may arrange your next visit. Thank you, Georgette Farkas
What a disappointment. We were looking for a place that served tasty but simple food. From what we read, Rotisserie Georgette should have been perfect. Instead the cooking was INEPT. Grilled asparagus was salted like a Central Park pretzel. Chicken was dry. French fries were mushy. Rare burger was brown through and through. The server was nice enough and we liked the atmosphere, but can't see paying those prices for that quality.
Dear Gourmet Gal, I thank you for taking the time to share your comments. While we pride ourselves in the quality of our cooking, we have clearly disappointed, and I am deeply sorry for that. You have every reason to expect the finest quality from us. I do hope you will return so that we may serve you the caliber of cooking we are known for. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly so that I may attend to your next lunch of dinner here personally. Sincerely, Georgette Farkas, Owner
Nice Ambience with good food
Great experience! Our second time here as we couldn’t visit the city without having the Roast Chicken for 2!!
The fois gras and jus add a dimension to this well presented dish that makes it so special! The atmosphere coupled with the attentive service gets them ‘all the stars’!
Thanks to our server Pamir for a job well done!
We had a wonderful dining experience this week at Rotisserie Georgette. The dining area is quite gracious, with plenty of space between tables and a quite high ceiling. The service was first rate. Several folks helped out, with proactive but not intrusive activity. And the food was really delicious. While I opted for the signature (and excellent) roast chicken, my companion hit a hone run with the rib entree. Plentiful and flavorful. The brussel sprout side dish was a treat. And the asparagus starter which (I believe) Georgette recommended was a great way to start the meal. We will definitely be back.
Only criticism is the size of the cocktails. I had a vodka gimlet straight up. The glass could have come from a kids play set, and it was only 3/4 full amounting to maybe 4 sips. I'd rather pay more than have a tiny cocktail glass. It's the smallest I've ever seem.
Excellent food and service. Nice atmosphere. My fish was perfectly cooked which is a rarity for most restaurants.
Rotisserie Georgette is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always good, and the restaurant is a comfortable and pleasant place to dine.
The food is very good the service was awful to non-existent.
