Pretty place with great food . Know for the rotisserie chicken. Authentic French feel
I don't normally write reviews, but I was blown out of the water with my experience here! Rotisserie Georgette was warm and inviting, the food was delicious, and the staff was phenomenally attentive, even with a late reservation! Can't recommend this restaurant enough and we will definitely be coming here again!
For a highly rated restaurant I expected much more... The food was OK but not worth the price. The place must have weird acoustics that makes it very loud and you can barely have a conversation.
It was our first time and we were wowed by the service and the fresh appetizers and entrees. All first rate. Georgette works hard every night, we gather, as she certainly was this past Wednesday, a warm and enthusiastic host. We're coming back, and soon.
We were in a big rush as we were a bit late and had an appointment around an hour after we arrived. The waiter was great and made sure that we were very quickly served. Food was very good. We both had the roast chicken, roasted potatoes and the ratatouille. All very good.
Amazing! Felt like an authentic French bistro. From the host, to our server, and the owner herself, the entire staff was exceptional! Very warm, very attentive, very genuine. Delicious food, attention to detail, and amazing tarte ta tatin it was fantastic. Will recommend and definitely be back. Thank you.
When I ordered my entree, I requested that the rotisserie duck be cooked medium, instead of medium rare. It arrived almost an hour after our appetizers, extremely rare. I was so hungry at that point that I ate what I could and did not enjoy it. The menu left much to be desired, as it was extremely limited. I will not return.
Friends laughingly call Rotisserie Georgette the most expensive chicken dinner in Manhattan; we laugh because we always come back because it is so worth it. First of all, the chicken is fantastic and the sides (don't miss the glazed carrots) equally good. But beyond good food and attentive service, this is a comfortable place among the fancy restaurants of the city. There is a genuine 'glad to see you' feeling and a sincere "I hope you come back' attitude that starts the minute you get there. Georgette is actually there and watching most of the time; she does not take it for granted that you haver chosen her restaurant over many other fine choices.
All in all, this is a restaurant that can only be found in an important city and it makes being in the City worth it.
The food was fantastic...from the apps, half chicken and dessert. We had the farrotto and salad g for apps, then the half chickens and tarte tatin, which all were great! The waiter made great recommendations and pointed us into the right direction on the menu for our choices. Real great service
It was our first time and we will definitely be back. All of the food was fresh, well prepared with complementary simple ingredients, not “over-done” with a mishmash of too many unnecessary seasonings that is currently the common tendency of so many establishments. The service was attentive but not intrusive.
Wonderful as always, and Melissa is so gracious!
I don’t usuually write reviews but the service here was so dreadful I feel compelled to. We arrived on time for a 9pm reservation, were seated quickly to a near empty restaurant, the waiter curled his lip when he took our order and we never saw him again . The waitstaff all but ignored us which I don’t usuually mind actually (prefer to just order and enjoy he meal and company) but we were made to feel so unwelcome it was really quite surprising! I am shocked that they are still in business - great food, sadly deplorable service.
Always excellent all around
Deceptive menu pricing. Chicken. Rotisserie is 37 BUT it is only available in multiples of two, meaning even if only one person wants to eat the chicken, it costs $74. Rather steep and waiter kept avoiding questions about pricing.
A great place to go for a bistro with ambience and very good roast chicken. The potatoes and ratatouille are all so fantastic. Fine service and good wines by the glass. Well worth visiting.
Really interesting menu with a curated selection of what they apparently do best. We enjoyed the frisée salad, chicken and the must-have carrots. Funny enough we thought the carrots were the standout! Great wait staff even during the restaurant week. We sat towards the front so it was well air-conditioned.
Incredibly mediocre for the prices. We ordered across the menu for a business dinner and thought the food was consistently just ok.
Fun place. Good bar and excellent rotisserie duck. The carrots are outstanding. A bit pricey but good. Friendly staff. I have been there a few times and will go back. All my guests enjoyed the dinner.
This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. The ambiance is lovely, the food is expertly prepared and beautifully presented and Georgette and staff exceed at hospitality!
Great food & service. Unsurpassed location. Wish music would be toned down.
Comfortable place with comfort food. I like the decor. Service and waiter willing to please. Great desert
Top place for any chicken dish. Great ambiance. Not overrun with too many people.
Food is excellent. However, it was sooooo hot in the restaurant that it was unpleasant. Granted, it was a hot and humid evening in NYC, but restaurants must be able to cool down so diners can eat comfortably (certainly, other restaurants do it). We spent well over $100 pp for appetizer, chicken entree, 1 drink pp and dessert and we were so warm that we asked waiter for cold towels. I repeatedly asked waiter to turn up AC and he nodded but basically ignored me (likely because he knew there was a problem). Overall, I was unhappy with the price tag, given the uncomfortable environment
Food was tasty and server was diligent in getting us out for our 7:00 show.
The food/ambiance/service were top-rate. The room is small but lovely; great go-to spot in the E 60s whilst shopping on Madison Avenue.
Restaurant Week Lunch menu was excellent including the chilled corn soup and mussels. The food around us looked really good as well.
Delicious salad, roasted chicken and great ice cream sandwiches for dessert. A solidly tasty meal. We’ll be back.
I guess I was disappointed overall. The meal was good but nothing special. I was hoping for excellent food. The soup was great but the rest just okay. I’m not going back anytime soon. Place is pretty and service was good. I’m also unhappy that the meal was just 2 courses instead of 3.
If you want a totally pleasurable dining experience, do try Rotisserie Georgette! Charming atmosphere, plus outstanding food and service.
Definitely a Keeper!
And, check out the wonderful private dining area in the very back, complete with a large pass-through window into the kitchen – perfect for a small group. (See attached pictures)
Rotisserie Georgette was a great, not too expensive place, for a date. The food, especially the ribs, was delicious and the wait staff, including the wine steward, was helpful and informative.
Whole roast chicken was small and just OK. Sides were best part of meal, particularly carrots. There are better whole roast bird options in Manhattan. Restaurant is pretty.
This was my first time visiting Rotisserie Georgette (RG). It will not be my last time. There is so much to choose from when dining in Manhattan. RG stands out in all levels of food, service and atmosphere. The salmon tartar was a delight. The 4 of us also split a rack of ribs prior to our entree, which I'm almost embarrassed to say was finger licking good. We shared 2 whole ducks for our main, wish lovely crispy skin and a wonderful succulence. For me dessert was a yummy chocolate souffle, which did not have to be pre-ordered. As outstanding as the duck was, there was so much on the menu that my party is anxious to try at a future time.
The staff was very attentive and kept our party paced as we wished. We came to learn that this building was part of the lobby of a luxury hotel built around 1900. It's basement was the home of the legendary Copacabana night club.
And lastly, it was a pleasure to meet Georgette. One could see her fierce pride and love of her dining establishment. Her night was spent making certain each table was enjoying their experience. I highly recommend that others visit and share what we enjoyed.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the seating is very comfortable.
My friend and I came for a restaurant week lunch. We enjoyed the luxuriously creamy corn soup and the delicious mussels.
The pulled chicken sliders were dry and tasteless, despite the accompanying chutney, but it’s my own fault for not sending them back. (I did wonder why mine was the only plate without a side salad).
The madeleines, however, made up for the lackluster chicken and, all in all, I would go back to try something from the main menu.
My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner celebration at Rotisserie Georgette. Everyone at the restaurant was SO SO nice. They brought a birthday sparkler in the dessert - it was really dramatic and fun. The food is delicious. I will go there again and again for delicious rotisserie chicken, superb ratatouille that is as beautifully served as it is delicious and desserts that are well worth the calories.
Georgette always make you feel so welcome. Food is always outstanding.
Fun "birthday candle". Thank you Melissa.
Went there on a whim. Had heard about this place a while back and had never gotten around to it. Glad we did. Went for my wife’s birthday.
The chicken was perfect. Tender & juicy. Must have the Fois Gras terrine!!! Amazing.
Beautiful interior, gorgeous bar. This will be a regular for sure!
The ribs are meaty and delicious and I’m still thinking about the savory ratatouille! Service was fast and reliable. Particularly great spot for pre-Theater at 59E59.
This restaurant is famous for its chicken and yes the chicken in this restaurant is really good. Highly recommended for the chicken. The wifi of this restaurant is also chickens
What suprises me is that just at the end, when the waiter asks me if I want tea and I suppose that to be free, then later, my bill has a $5 tea which I don't think the tea worth $5.
