About Rotisserie Georgette
The dining room combines casual comfort and sophistication with touches that are both rough-hewn and refined. But the main attraction is the partly open kitchen’s rôtisserie ovens and their fine meats, poultry and fish turning over open flames. Abundant fresh vegetables, decadent potato dishes, heart-warming desserts, tempting cocktails & bites at the bar complete the picture. At lunch, we add generous main course salads and tempting pot pies. The soul-satisfying French-American comfort fare is prepared by Chef Francisco Blanco and Pastry Chef Jennifer Tafuri, complemented by the warm welcome of your host, Georgette Farkas. The “ROTISSERIE TABLE” private room seats ten.

Rotisserie Georgette Ratings and Reviews
The food and service are always wonderful and Georgette is always there to assure a beautiful experience. Be sure to have at least one entree from the rotisserie. This last visit I had friends from out of town who dine around the world. They love food and great wine lists. The night we were there they had a roast guinea hen which was so incredibly moist and delicious. We all agreed if we ever see guinea hen again on a menu anywhere we will order it and it better be as good. The servers are always great but on this last visit he hit all the marks and our table voted him the best waiter in New York. This place is a jewel in Midtown.
If you’re offered a table in the middle of the Rotisserie Georgette dining room don’t take it! It will be the equivalent of eating in the middle of Times Square. In addition to the noise generated by other diners having conversation, for some reason the management felt it was important to have music going in the background, adding to the cacophony. It took three requests on my part before they finally lowered the music which made it possible for me to hear what the waiter was saying as well as my dinner companion. The chicken I ordered was dry and not very tasty and if it weren’t for the sauce that came with it would’ve been almost unpalatable. The appetizers and side dishes were tasty and interesting. Too bad we didn’t quit there. Come for drinks and appetizers. Then go someplace else for your main course and some pleasant dinner conversation.
Absolutely perfect ambiance, cozy and intimate. We had the 1/2 rotisserie chicken ( organic and from an upstate farm) and ribs. Both were amazing. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Sommelier had excellent wine suggestions. And even if you aren’t a dessert person the chocolate soufflé and Madelines were both decadent. Perfect evening. We will be back again!!
I am from Los Angeles. I like the location of this restaurant near my hotel. I have mostly
had lunch here but my experience with dinner is not great. First, the food. We ordered the roasted chicken which was roasted until it shriveled and shank. It tasted over roasted, that flavor when you know the chicken fat has taken a turn. The expensive baked potato was devoid
of any creaminess and was just dry. And the rest of the meal followed on this note. The noise
level was high as expected and the wait staff was nice but nothing can change bad food.
My husband and I had a delicious lunch. The octopus appetizer was very tasty and my chicken with fries and salad was perfect. I ordered a nice glass of wine that was a perfect compliment to my meal. The service was excellent and charming. The ambiance is warm and inviting.
We had the farro appetizer and a salad. Both were tasty. We had the chicken for 2 with Foie Gras. Since there were 3 of us we also ordered the Branzino. The chicken would have been plenty. They are not cheap with the Foie Gras. All delicious! We had profiteroles for dessert which was the least favorite part of the meal. We will definitely go back
We did not enjoy our meals. The chicken was very dry and had no flavor. However, the manager was as nice and professional as you can get offering me something else and going above and beyond to make us happy. For that reason alone I'd consider going back. It's nice when a place actually seems to care.
We were recommended this restaurant by some friends and it totally lived up to the reference. We arrived for a 7:30 reservation and were sat immediately and when we were not fond of the location they moved us without hesitation. We had the chicken and ribs and both were very good. Huge portions as well and food was very hot. The stuffed baked potatoe was fantastic. Very friendly service and extremely attentive. Manager asked us if we liked our meal by name which is always a very nice touch. Great restaurant and great food, go eat and enjoy.
We had a wonderful evening with personalized service. Loved the popcorn at the bar and even the charlotte dishes it was served in. The chicken was perfect, as was the gruyere mashed potatoes. Georgette wisely recommended the tarte tatin for 2 for dessert, along with the hard cider, which proved to be a perfect combination. We will come back next time in NYC. Lovely area to spend the afternoon before having dinner also. Perfect all around!
Went for lunch with a business acquaintance who has Celiac Disease, and this restaurant served a superb gluten-free menu. Most of the items were naturally gluten-free (they're roasts after all). Leave space for dessert which was also wonderful. Not inexpensive; a decent business lunch here will easily come to $50 per person and above. But the noise was low enough to hold a good conversation, so all in all, the price was worth it.
Not a good food experience. Lamb way too salty and I like salt. Could've been delicious. Salad G was excellent. Carrots good and potatoes fine but also salt heavy. Chicken with foie gras was bad. Foie gras good but the chicken dry, rubbery and had very thick skin which was a good thing for the bird because I verbally abused it. Skin wasn't crisp at all. Nice ambience and good service but don't like when there's a waiter switch towards end of my meal. Perhaps the duck and other dishes are good but at that price I shouldn't leave feeling bamboozled for paying for THAT subpar chicken so I wouldn't give them another chance.
Do you like good rotisserie food?
Do you like being treated like family?
Do you like a wide selection of french wine?
Would you be happy in a dining room where you hear each other speak?
Well, look no further this place is for you. It’s impeccable service makes me want to come here again and again.
This was our second visit and my wife and I were looking forward to having an enjoyable meal again. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The service felt rushed and aside from the salad and burrata, the gnocchi was too heavy and the chicken was dry. We do not plan on returning.
