A lovely little gem. A cozy dining room and fabulous food. I had the ivory salmon.
I am a particular lover of snails and the snails here are just incredible. It is in a very light garlic butter sauce, with lemon juice, white wine and shallots. My wife won't the snails but she did taste and enjoyed the sauce the snails are prepared in. We both had chicken dishes and the portions are just right for the light eaters at lunch. And the garlic toast is nothing but spectacular.
Just decided to go to Roth child's as my friend had never been there. He found it fabulous. The garlic bread. So yummy. My good so delicious. The minestrone soup one of the best. It is a favorite place for me as I love the atmosphere and quaintness and wonderful service. Enjoyed meeting the youngest son. Evening was perfect
We were seated in the bar area and it was such fun! The service was exceptional and the entrees fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back again.
Love the restaurant and the service. Especially Star, the server we always ask for. Food is fantastic and ambiance romantic
This is a small but intimate restaurant with great food and wonderful service. One should not miss dining there for either lunch or dinner.
Great service, attentive, but not intrusive. Our tables various Italian dishes were excellent.
The service was fabulous. Starla was our waitress. We would come back again just for the service!
Friday night 3/9/18 ordered the Halibut at $36.95and asked for it to be cooked medium so it would not be chewy and Dry. They served a half inch thick Halibut steak which was over cooked, chewy, and dry should have sent it back but was involved in the conversation.
And Tim is the best waiter ever! This is a special place to dine. Great food, great ambiance!
Starr is a great waitress.
Amazing made daily fresh pasta. Can't go wrong.
Small and quaint venue and CAN be noisy at prime time.
But open all afternoon and evening, so going in at a quite time is possible.
We wanted to go somewhere we could have a conversation. Thankfully, they put us upstairs. The restaurant is very small quarters, but the noise downstairs was high. Dinner menus were late in coming. Service, while polite, was inconsistent. Our opinions was the meal was good but not great. I would probably opt to try someplace else before returning. Wanted to give them a great review but our experience landed somewhat flat, sorry to say.
Decent but uninspired food, good service, noise level too high. Appetizers are better than entrees generally.
Superb dining experience. Food exquisite; superb service by Lisa S and Tim.
My husband and I had a date night here. We have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile and we were not disappointed. It is small and reservations are a must. Although it was a touch chilly outside we choose to sit out doors and they turned on the heat source and also offered a fleece blanket if needed but it was not. We both chose a special my was a veal cutlet rolled with Prosciutto and Salami and cut on an angle, it was wonderful. My husband had a grilled and sauteed salmon which was equally wonderful. We had cappuccino and dessert as well. One glass of wine a piece and the bill was $141 without tip. Seems pricey but is well worth it. The service is beyond compare and we will definitely go again but only after we save some money, LOL.
The staff and food were outstanding in a cozy, EUROPEAN setting
Small local CDM restaurant. I did not feel a sense of being welcomed here by the Hostess. It was our anniversary and was noted in our reservation. Having just come form Michael's Gourmet Room the weekend before our expectation of quality service bar was set too high. On a positive note the food was good and our servers were extremely professional and knowledgeable about the restaurants offerings. We did enjoy the soup and our chicken entrees were above average and appetizing. I am not sure I would be back as it felt a "tad bit stuffy" .
After many years of living in Newport Beach, we finally made it in to this restaurant, and are so glad we did! The food, service and ambiance were all terrific! Our server, Star, was wonderful, and made the experience fun!
Have not been here in ten years, because i moved to Midwest.
The place is better than ever. I was a regular.
Heidi runs the ship and all in great order.
Service was personable , professional and engaging!
Recommend it highly
Great atmosphere and good food. Well worth it!
We always enjoy Rothchilds. The food and service are consistently excellent!!!
Food was not great, cocktails were mediocre. Maybe because it was Restaurant week, but we were rushed along and felt that we were holding things up.
This is a small gem...finally a place where you can enjoy conversation and delicious meal at the same time.
The food was excellent, the staff attentive and friendly. The tiramisu was delicious; I'd go for that alone!
Excellent food! Our favorite meal during our time in Newport Beach! The seafood linguine is delicious, and the garlic toast is an absolute must!
This was our first time there we will diffenately go again.food was excellent, people were so nice
Our meal was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding! Very cozy environment - great for an intimate lunch or dinner - highly recommend!
We found this delightful place in 1980. It is special to us and our favorite restaurant. The food has always been wonderful.
Great expectations and bad experience.
Food was average, silverware outdated, service. ..on the end we feel abandoned and ask other waitress to help us.This restaurant has no class. We will never come back.
Excellent service!!! And delicious food!!!!!
Rothschild’s is the neighborhood restaurant that welcomes you in like family. It’s classy, elegant, with a friendly staff and an eclectic menu that will satisfy any palate. The food is fantastic! The service by Debbie and Tim is exceptional.
If you’re looking for great food and service Rothschild’s is the place to go!!
Food wasn't prepared fresh...service was slow. For money not worth it !
Fantastic Christmas lunch thanks
We were initially seated near a large, happy, noisy table. We asked to be moved and the staff accommodated us without making us feel bad. The restaurant is cozy, romantic and has good food. We gave been there several times and will continue to patronize.
Fabulous as always
It delicious as always and will go back again. Everything about this place is good.
We have been to this restaurant several times and it seems that each time we were there the temperature was cold and we had to ask for the A/C to be turned down.
Lovely lunch, excellent food. I do have one complaint. We were “nickeled and dimed” over small issues. We requested a small side of blue cheese crumbles for a salad that previously included them. $5 charge. We split a ravioli entree. The number of ravioli was uneven, so the chef added one more. The right decision, but we were not asked first. $7 charge. The garlic bread is served in a basket of 5 pieces. We were a party of three. We asked for one more piece and were told no. Given that our lunch bill for three women was $175 (including wine) couldn’t Rothschild’s have been a bit more generous over small issues? Seems petty for such a lovely restaurant.
