Rothschild's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Rothschild’s is the neighborhood restaurant that welcomes you in like family. It’s classy, elegant, with a friendly staff and an eclectic menu that will satisfy any palate. The food is fantastic! The service by Debbie and Tim is exceptional.
If you’re looking for great food and service Rothschild’s is the place to go!!
Lovely lunch, excellent food. I do have one complaint. We were “nickeled and dimed” over small issues. We requested a small side of blue cheese crumbles for a salad that previously included them. $5 charge. We split a ravioli entree. The number of ravioli was uneven, so the chef added one more. The right decision, but we were not asked first. $7 charge. The garlic bread is served in a basket of 5 pieces. We were a party of three. We asked for one more piece and were told no. Given that our lunch bill for three women was $175 (including wine) couldn’t Rothschild’s have been a bit more generous over small issues? Seems petty for such a lovely restaurant.
My husband and I took a couple friends to lunch for one of their birthdays. I had requested a window seat and was happy to be accommodated. Our waiter seemed to be “new” and I say that because first of all when a Campari and soda was ordered he wasn’t aware what it was (this is an Italian restaurant). I asked how many fried ravioli came to an order so I’d know how many orders to request, I was told 4 so I ordered based on that. We waited and when the order finally came to our table there were only 3. I was very embarrassed and immediately placed a second order. Bread wasn’t replaced when the basket was empty.
Our Lunch order was beautifully presented and delicious, but the flow of the entire meal was off and uncomfortable for us as hosts. Will I go back...yes, but I hope the waiter is better trained by then.
As usual, Rothchilds did not disappoint. Took my assistant to celebrate her birthday. She had linguini with shrimp and scallops, I had chicken parmesan, side of pasta. The pasta is homemade and as delicious as the word homemade suggests. The chicken was cooked to perfection.
Service was friendly and professional as always.
I've been dining at Rothchilds for 30 years and it's always a delight to return
We were visiting from the Midwest and wanted some Italian food. Rothscilds was a random selection but...it is a terrific restaurant. And very economical with excellent pricing. The watermelon salad was perfect for a hot evening. And we split an order of the lobster ravioli. Excellent!!
Small and intimate, older style but beautiful decor. We’ll be back on our next visit to Newport Beach.
Always a great meal here. The pasta is amazing, as are the toasted ravioli and garlic bread. The veal dish and chicken were very good. You must save room for their secret Ice Cream Pie with a meringue topping and a plate of milk chocolate sauce. To die for!
Rothschilds is a perennial favorite...the fettuccine Romano is the BEST! And the garlic toast is 2nd to none. I was a bit disappointed this time in their special ice cream pie dessert (which is usually great). There was hardly any ice cream in it, mostly meringue fluff on top, and the ice cream that was there wasn't very good. Otherwise, lovely as usual.
