This is the first time that we dined for brunch. The maitre d was wonderful. He sat us immediately at a table we had selected. The brunch has a variety of steak and prime rib at the carving board, omelet station, cold seafood station , sushi station and a fair selection of bagels, cheeses, fruit platter and desserts. The waiter never told us that the choice of one drink, either a screwdriver, champagne or bellini is included with the brunch. Once the drink was served the waiter never returned to the table until the check was delivered. The busboys were outstanding, smiling as they promptly cleared the plates. Kudos to the busboys. The waiters huddled in the corner of the restaurant chatting, as their tip is already added to the bill. This was our only disappointment. The valet service was outstanding. We would definitely return for brunch.
service poor and hostess staff terrible. food was overcooked
We really enjoyed our dinner at Rothmann's. Their old manager, John,(who we have known for many years) returned and the dinner was great. Everyone we interacted with from the valet to the hostess to the waiters and the managers were lovely to deal with and made it an exceptional evening.
$75 lamb chops filled with fat and grizzle. Bill for four with one drink each over $500. For that food should have been wonderful and it wasn’t Will try another steak house next time
We had a very pleasant dinner. The service was ok. The evening was quiet since the weather was poor. The restaurant was not busy for a Thursday evening. We ordered a large rib steak that we shared and was excellent. We also ordered a baked potato which was large and delicious. We also ordered a vegetable; sautéed spinach which we did not care for.
We have dined there many times and have consistently enjoyed our meals.
The food and the staff were fantastic. I wish I could go Every week for this brunch!
A great recommendation from locals! Very comfortable place and we were not rushed so they could turn the table. The food was wonderful and perfectly timed (again, not rushed). We will be back!
Moms Birthday dinner
Top notch head waiter. Felt royal :)
Came for dinner with entire family. The ambiance is beautiful. The service was spot on throughout the meal. Every dinner course was prepared to perfection. Alex and the staff were very attentive to our every need. Had a significant problem at a famous Great Neck steakhouse with their service. Rothmann's is a keeper.
Great service and amazing food!
The boneless rib eye was not tender, despite being advertised as an aged prime cut. The temperature was right, pink center and nicely charred on the outside, but it took effort to cut and chew. The creamed spinach and onion soup were excellent. The varieties of whisky's on the menu was amongst the most impressive I've seen, and generally not overpriced for that kind of restaurant. The meal could have been great, but the centerpiece, the steak left me not pining to go back. Disappointed. I expected it to be great.
We have dined at Rothmans a number of times and each time we find new reasons
to praise the food, the service and the experience.
Went for Sunday brunch. Food was delicious with a wide variety of options. Nothing else compares.
We had very high expectations at this restaurant due to the high price tag. For the most part we were not disappointed- staff and host were very welcoming and cordial. My surf and turf was delicious and side dishes we ordered were amazing. However, my spouse's bone in rib-eye had too much fat and tough parts that had to be cut away for the almost $60 price. We did say something to the waiter, but I don't think he communicated it to the Manager. Everyone else was so nice and they even gave me a free ice cream for my birthday, so we let it go. I am sure the steaks are usually great based on my fillet mignon.
Always consistent, always delicious!!!!
Good clean food! Good fish, steak and delightful sushi or you can get a combination !
Everything from the food to the service was absolutely exceptional. Can’t wait to go back. This is the best restaurant on Long Island, period.
I ordered a gluten free steak and it came out with crispy onions on top.
I would not recommend during busy hours as this is one of the "loudest" restaurants I have ever been in. Conversation at the table was very difficult! The other negative is the price of wine...they use computerized pour which provides a "light" pour and they charge based on 2, 4 or 6 ounce pours. We had 3 glasses of a moderate priced wine and the price was $30 per glass...NONSENSE!
The food and service are very good.
It was a busy Saturday night. Unfortunately service was mediocre. Took us 30 minutes to get seated and there were seats available well before. Had to go to hostess to remind them we we were waiting. Took us a 10-15 minutes to get a waiter to order a glass of wine. Steak wasn’t cooked to our liking and had to send back.
The somilier was great and knowledgeable. Steak was good after it was cooked properly. Ordered the Japanese Kobe strip steak.
All in all the place does have good food. I’ve had this experience at busy times at high end steakhouses the service is not what it is expected. It is recommended but results may vary depending on the night
Always amazing food and service!! One of my favorites of all time!!
Haven’t been there for while but still continues to be an excellent choice for a steakhouse.
Always one of the best dining experiences!! Did not disappoint
Table location was ok but the waiter was hard to find
Excellent. Service and food were great!
We love Rothmann's! Great food, fresh food, love the steak and the sides. Would definitely recommend the Sunday brunch!
Rothmans is my favorite restaurant on Long Island and they alway exceed my expectations.
Brunch at Rothmans is absolutely fabulous! The food is fresh and plentiful and tastes great. The seafood selection is unbelievable, the raw bar is some of the freshest around and their skirt steak is the best I have ever had. The staff is great and makes the whole visit truly enjoyable. It is well worth the price for Sunday brunch at Rothmans! I will be there over and over again.
Everything was pretty good and I would return. Everyone in our group pretty much agreed on two things the deserts were ehhh waste of time. The manager John was very rude with no personality. The hostess said he was new and she apologized. Aside from the poor management and below average deserts we would return.
The best steakhouse on Long Island. Hands down I’ve been to them all. Service Is top notch, drink selection is on point. If your in the mood for an amazing steak dinner then this is the place. Steaks are always cooked perfectly and the menu runs deep.
food was prepared to our liking. service was very good. Everything was done with class and taste
Excellent service and fantastic food
Just a great solid place.
Appetizers were quite good, entrees not so much. Wife ordered the $55 lamb chops, they were so fatty, through-out every bite, they we're un-edible. No joke. Worst chops she ever had. Manager took them off the bill, I ordered the Asian marinated skirt steak, it was ok, but my fault, not the right dish to order in a steak house. We should have ordered a straight up Porterhouse for 2. I think the high end chain steak houses have better food. On a nice note, beautiful restaurant and the service was impeccable, however, you just need to stick with their basics apparently.
Service was excellent. Very attentive, but not obtrusive. We both ordered steaks - my wife’s was perfect (med-rare), but mine was over cooked med-well instead of med-rare. Appetizer (calamari) and desert (flan) were delicious. The seating area was lively, but not loud, with a mix of couples, families and groups. I would recommend.
Great food...attentive staff.
Excellent in every way. Our first visit and we will be sure to return.
We were a party of 4 and we went for the brunch. We arrived a little before our reservation time of 11am and were seated promptly. The Brunch buffet was delicious and very good value based on what was included.
We weren't rushed at all.
The service was slow or non-existent. We had to 'hunt' down our waiter for additional drinks and coffee. This area needs to be improved! If we had attentive wait staff, then I would give the service a five star review...but this put a damper on our otherwise enjoyable brunch.
Great sushi
