Rosy's at the Beach
Lunch: Daily 11:00am-4:00pm
Dinner: Su-Th 4:00pm-9:00pm
Dinner: F-Sa 4:00pm-10:00pm
First visit to Rosy’s. We’ve heard many good reviews but ours did not go well.
Our reservations were early, 5:00pm, and I was advised when I ordered ahi tuna that it’s really very good but they are sold out already. Strike 1
Wife ordered salad and I ordered soup. Her beet salad arrived (less the stated goat cheese and balsamic).
As she finished eating her salad my soup arrived. Half way through my soup dinner entrees arrive. Not happy at this point. Strike 2
Wife had prawn linguine which was barely “okay”. She did eat most of it. I ordered seafood paella which was not. Strike 3
When clearing our table our waitress, who really did a fine job, noticed I had not eaten much at all took it on herself to speak with the Mgr who took it off our bill. She also explained the other issues to the mgr so you would have thought he would have made an appearance at our table to apologize for the evening. He did not! 3-outs, game over!
I might someday try this restaurant again but it will likely be a long time from now and I will offer my review when discussing the mostly fine restaurants in Morgan Hill.
We were visiting our son and his wife who just recently bought a home in Morgan Hill ( we are from So.Cal) decided to try Rosy's since we all love seafood. I personally loved that there was outdoor seating, the weather was perfect! Food was very good, started with the Ahi Poke and was delicious! Our son surprised us with a delicious anniversary dessert at the end that the server brought out to us.
We were seated in the back, the table next to us was very loud. We tried to change our table to the front but were told none available and I should have requested the front when I made reservation. I think they could ha e asked the table to lower their voices.
Comfortable, casual setting. Served by an attentive server. Great menu selections. Loved the smoked salmon appetizer! Great place to dine with someone special.
We probably would of gave it a much higher review but the service was so slow. Our server was very friendly and nice. Food was great. But when you're there for lunch and it takes 40 minutes to get your food (other people got there's much quicker) that's not good. I love Rosy's, it's one of my go to places in Morgan Hill, so I am chalking this up to just a bad day and miss connection with the kitchen. Because I will be back there's not doubt, the food is too good not to give them another chance. ;)
Tomahawk steak was great....but they forgot to put in our order of oysters we had placed for an appetizer 😕
outstanding place for dinner. Only one negative thing i saw. It was a cleaner restroom. There was paper towels on the floor .
But , It was a nice place to for dinner on a Friday.
Love Rosie’s! Salmon Taco dinner their best! Great place for lunch or dinner. Good wine pairing. Small bar for social meetings. Pre or post theater restaraunt!
Our experience was not up to par. Out of the 6 of us, half of our orders (including drinks) were incorrect. Although there was an open space at our table, the waiter stood directly behind me so I had to twist to give my order. Also, I'm "old-school" and was not happy that there were 5 ladies (ages 13 - 40+) at the table, but the waiter asked the 13 year old boy (seated in the middle of a round table with an open space, so not a logical place to start) for his order first. Management needs to train the wait staff on dining etiquette. Ask the ladies for their orders first- always. Stand where your guests can see you because they are not owls. Ensure the order is correct. The restaurant was not crazy-busy, so it isn't like they were slammed and we should extend a little more grace.
Good place for a quick bite and a drink an/or dinner with many seafood options. The tables in front are much too small for more than two people. If you have three or more, ask for a table in the back. The smoked salmon appetizer plate is one of my favorites.
My husband and I had a nice dinner at Rosie's on a recent Friday night. Service was prompt and attentive, and we both enjoyed our meals. It was nice that soup or salad are included with the price of the entree. We like the "beach" decor in the restaurant. My only "ding" is that a group of 8 was seated in the front dining room, where small parties and couples like ourselves were already seated. The group included some kids and some adults, likely after a sporting event, and they were rather loud (as a group of 8 tends to be.) Because there is a back dining area which was pretty much empty, I would suggest that large parties be placed there, rather than in the front dining room. It's not reasonable to ask a party of 8 to be quiet, and I wouldn't expect them to be, but it did detract from our pleasure of our meal. Other than that, we had a pleasant evening.
Great Mothers Day lunch!
The meal went just fine. We were seated promptly and the server arrived shortly there after. Ordering went smoothly and the food arrived warm and well presented. Overall a nice meal in a nice environment.
Enjoyable dining experience
Great food and service. A fun find in Morgan Hill.
We went for the wild caught fish specials and they were excellent as always. The service was great and our reserved table was waiting for us on arrival. We love Rosy’s on a Saturday night.
Our table ordered Fish and Chips, Ceasar Salad with Grilled Prawns, and Ceasar Salad with Grilled Salmon. All were delicious, made with very fresh ingredients, and seasoned well. Don't forget to ask for the warm bread!
Rosy's is a great seafood restaurant. I was delighted that they have great salad choices for lunch. The food is always delicious. Nice patio seating out front and great beachy decor inside. Staff is friendly and efficient.
It's hard to eat out and stay with healthy foods. Rosy's makes it easy with a lot of healthy salads, crab and shrimp cocktails etc on her menu. I had a crab cocktail and a glass of the house red and my husband opted for the Salmon tacos ( again! ) Then we went for a walk up to the new Nob Hill park to get a few more steps in. All in all the perfect end to a Monday.
Just tell them "no bread" it is irresistible!
Love it here...have for a long time...drinks are good...had appetizers and then dinner..I had the special halibut which was delicious...one person had the hamburger...even that was good even though the place is know for fish and steaks...had a fab time...service superb...hostess a love...
This is our favorite go-to restaurant for a Saturday night. They take reservations and they sit you on time.
Last night I was looking for something KETO so I had the crab cocktail. It was a large portion of fresh crab with another large portion of avocado. OMG it was the best. Fresh and YUUUUMY. My husband had the tacos and was delighted also. The service was fast and attentive on a busy Saturday night.
Sunday night is our next favorite night if we have been out wine tasting. Rosy's has a no corkage fee Sundays and you can enjoy your wine catch from the day. In the Summer hours you can eat outside.
*** Usually I get the seafood special. The specials are always so well thought out.
I go to Rosy's once in a long while. I loved the decor inside & very impressed with the ceiling's garland & balls. Nice stand out!
However, I had the lentils & chicken salad. I wasn't enjoying it cuz it was just tooo much plateful of lentils, very small amount of cut sweet potatoes....no greenies underneath like a salad! I feel this menu needs modification! The whole thing lacks flavor! Must reduce the lentils by more than half & add over greenies & better veggies to it!
Tried their new butternut squash salad - it was amazing - definitely will do it again!
Great service and friendly atmosphere - favorite restaurant for people who live in Morgan Hill.
They also have the best fish and chips I've ever had.
Anna our server was awesome!!
We love Rosy's! It is our Saturday night go to restaurant because they take reservations and the weekend specials are always The BEST. The menu has a lot of variety so we take friends often knowing that everyone will find something they like to order.
The drinks are good pours and the wine list extensive. Sunday night you can bring your own wine and not get dinged with a corkage fee - Great if you have been out wine tasting.
Overall great dining and atmosphere except the waiter was a bit too attentive. Young man Needs some guidance on when and how often to check back on 2 gabbing ladies.
Service was top notch. The wine selection was limited but we found two interesting and enjoyable wines by the glass.
The specials for the day were both tasty.
We would recommend .
For valentines day 2017 they had a fixed menu option which was very good. We were disappointed that this year was just their regular menu.
We really wanted to love it, since we are new to the area and still looking for a favorite place to go. Very relaxed and we had very good, friendly service. The food even looked good- plentiful and attractive, and sadly, completely without flavor. The grilled shrimp and asparagus salad, completely tasteless. Wherever the ‘Meyer lemon and peppercorn’ dressing was, it wasn’t on the salad. The salmon tacos, almost completely tasteless. No wonder they brought bottled hot sauce without us asking. We did like the salmon appetizer, except that the choice of mascarpone with smoked salmon tasted a little odd. The wine, meh, but it really isn’t a wine with dinner place. The specialty cocktails were ok.
We have enjoyed dinner at Rosy's twice in the last 2 weeks and have not been disappointed. The Macadamia Crusted Swordfish special was excellent (both times)! My lady had the Dungoness crab pasta, she thought it was "fabulous, but a few too many shells". We fully understand that's just the chance you take with shellfish pastas, so just be careful and enjoy😁 That said, we will return often and highly recommend Rosy's to our friends and colleagues.
This is a great casual local eatery, with a kid friendly atmosphere and outdoor seating. The menu and daily specials make it interesting, and the wine list is heavy on our local wines, which is great.
I love it when everything is right, and this place has everything right! The Crab Louie was delicious, as was the calamari and the swordfish special!
Was looking forward to a New Year's Eve dinner with my family and was delighted to find a reservation available. Upon arrival we were seated in the back of restaurant away from main dining room and heater. The back door was wide open and it was freezing. Our very nice waiter attempted to close it by blocking with a stack of high chairs. Shortly after the smell of restroom sewage filled the air. I assume this is why they had the door open. During our dining the employees could be heard using foul language in the prep area. Hair in tuna and burnt baked potato. Truly disappointing. On a positive note we had an amazing waiter who was very friendly and attentive. The unsatisfactory experience was no fault of his. Possibly better management and food quality would help.
Food was great. We had the salmon tacos.
My husband had a Wonderful blackened swordfish with veggies and I had a huge Crab Louie Salad with a lot of claw meat in it.
Unfortunately, there are few choices among main courses for gluten free diners. However, there are tons of salad with meat/fish in them and our server was VERY knowledgeable and helpful. He said the fish tacos (and they include salmon, whitefish, shrimp etc) are always safe and I usually get them and enjoy them.
Rosy’s is a fun restaurant for a nice night out.
This restaurant is great. Menu featured crab special dishes. We all had one and so good. Waiter was fabulous. Lively atmosphere...Nice night out...
Always a great place to dine in a casual atmosphere. The service is good and the food makes you feel great.
Had dinner after the Morgan Hill Christmas Parade. Place was packed but service levels were not down. Food was good as always.
Rosy's is a Morgan Hill staple
I have never been disappointed with a meal from Rosy's. One of my favorite places. Highly recommend.
